Great TV, Awesome Picture. One design flaw.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ll hit the only bad thing first, if your wall mounting this display your going to find a really stupid design flaw. Right under the 2 lower screw holes on the back of the TCL is a 1/4 lip that makes it impossible to lower the wall mount arms on the back of the TCL. I’ve been wall mounting panels ever since the early days of plasma and I’ve never encountered a display that wasn’t totally flat on the back until now. What in the world were the TCL designers NOT thinking ??? They put a 1/4 inch lip right under the bottom screw holes making it impossible to lower the wall mounting arms. Perhaps someone from TCL will see this and explain the rationale behind this obviously bad stupid design flaw ??? TCL ????? My TCL is wall mounted but I had to remove and lower my wall mounting plate that was already on my wall in order to compensate for the inability to adjust the wall mounting arms on the back of the TCL. Ok, now the good stuff !!! I did tons of research before buying this TCL Series 6 65incher and all the great reviews are true !!! The picture in AMAZING and JAW DROPPING. 4K and Dolby Vision ROCK !!!!! I’ve been mostly a Vizio person and I originally brought home the 70inch Vizio E Series but it was DOA when I got it home so I returned it for the TCL because most of the reviews I read claimed the picture was better on this TCL than the E Series Vizio. Anyhow, the TCL Series 6 has a seriously amazing picture and the baked-in Roku is awesome as well (my first time using Roku) I dropped my Cox cable and installed YouTube TV, I highly recommend YouTube TV as well as this TCL. Hope my little review was a good read. Cheers, Davyo

Simply Amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the TCL 55P607 nearly a year ago and it was a pretty darn good value. This year, when TCL announced (and showed off) its 65" set that coming this Spring, I was super excited. I knew I wanted Dolby Vision since it's the best HDR experience there is. Fast-forward to the end of April when I heard this TV was coming out May 1. I immediately ordered this TV from Best Buy and picked it up at my local Best Buy distribution center (warehouse) in Ontario, CA (VDDC 724). The 65R615 is every bit as good as last year's 55P607, but better because it's got a larger screen size and has more contrast zones. I have watch various Dolby Vision shows on Netflix so far and they have been amazing. I have also re-watched Planet Earth II in 4K HDR and it was also pretty darn amazing. Overall, this is THE best value for a 65" TV, ever. Packing in Dolby Vision and 120 Contrast Control Zones (aka FALDs) is an absolute steal of a deal. If you're in the market for a Dolby Vision capable TV of this size, you will NOT be able to find a better deal. Honestly, the only other TV I would want (if I had the budget) would be the LG OLED TV's. Honestly nothing else compares because this TV definitely beats TV's twice its price (easily).

Alright tv still working
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought November 2018 ordered online. Delivery was great. I hung it on the wall and set it up myself all went about like any other tv I have owned. No major problems the picture quality is good there is some blooming with dark scenes other wise pretty sharp My biggest complaint is with the Roku, it does not work well with Netflix very glitchy and slow I mostly only use it for the Roku Chanel bought an Apple TV works much better. I hope this helps. It’s a good tv not great. Just know what your getting going in.

Great TV for the price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ordered the TV on Sunday evening May 27th after I got tired waiting for the similar model 617 to come in at Amazon. TV was delivered on Thursday May 31st. I was surprised with a call from the delivery folks saying they would show up 15 min prior to their 4 hr arrival window. The unboxing & setup was easy. What took some time was in putting my log ins & passwords for the various streaming services I had. Once that was done it was time to check everything out. I am happy to the picture quality is excellent with this 65" screen. Everything was perfect, no lines or missing pixels, or gray areas that others have complained about. I was happy to go from a 42" 10 yr old Vizio to this TV. Was amazes me is the brightness of the picture when I enter the room at night. The walls across from the TV are lit up versus Mt old TV. The only problem I found is the I am unable to "cast" or stream videos/movies from my phone to the TV. There are no instructions in the guide or info in the TV on how to do this. There is only one screen that asks for a "device" to input, but there are no drop down windows with any selections to choose from. I only discovered this yesterday after using the TV for 12 days. If I can't figure this out or get some help from TCL I may have to return the TV to Best Buy.

Excellent TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the TV a couple of months ago and could not be happier. I have never had a TV this big before and the size did not disappoint. It's huge! I have the TV mounted and it looks great. I used the Sanus Full-Motion + wall mount. As far as the actual TV goes I love that the smart OS is Roku. The menus are snappy and the app selection is nice. 4k on the TV looks really good. I highly suggest loading up Planet Earth 2 to check out the quality. The built in speakers are adequite. Nothing special, but gets the job done. I have noticed vertical banding in very rare scenarios (and by "very rare" I mean like one time in the months I have owned it). I was worried about the banding based on reviews I had read but it's not an issue at all. like me, you might notice it rarely but in day to day use it's not an issue. The only real issue I have with the TV is the brightness. The brightness is fine for the most part, but in a bright room the viewing angle on the TV shrinks more than I would like. Overall the TV is amazing. 10/10 would recommend to anybody interested. Obviously, it's not an OLED quality TV but for the price I am really happy with my purchase. One side note: Out of the box all the inputs are set on low power mode. I would defintley reccomend switching it off low power mode, and playing with some other options to get your optimal viewing experience.

truly a DSE lottery
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like other reviewers have noted, it is hit or miss as to whether your screen will suffer from significant DSE. Mine was bad and the TV will be returned. Watching hockey was unbearable even though colors and motion handling were excellent. It is otherwise a wonderful TV and I'd like to swap for another one but the effort to unbox, set up, then possibly rebox and return again is just not worth it to me at this time. I had also purchased a 65" LG sk80/8000 which I'll also create a review for today. The LG did not have any DSE however the overall picture was just 'dark'. We couldn't stop thinking someone had applied window tint to it so it will also be returned. Other than DSE, the TCL was easily a better picture than the LG. Also, on both the TCL and LG the best picture experience was achieved by turning OFF local dimming. I thought this would be a benefit for lower end TVs such as these two models but we only found it to be distracting. You could save a lot of cash by going with an older series TV which doesn't have this and some other new features which currently don't appear to be worth the additional cost. Don't get pulled into the 'future proof need' to have Local Dimming or full HDR/Dobly Vision/Atmos support unless you actually use it now. Other notes - I'm a fan of the very simplistic Roku interface. If you have anyone who cannot easily understand technology then this is probably the Smart TV OS for them. Unfortunately not many The LG Web OS was surprisingly well done though had a much steeper learning curve. I've also spent some time with the Samsung OS and found it to be very similar to the LG. I've NOT had any time to play with the Sony/Android interface however from all the reviews I've read it's currently something I will likely stay away from. What makes that difficult is that the Sony x900f and similar models appear to be wonderful pictures, just a horrible Smart OS. Vizio may also use Android OS but I've had enough experience with them to want to avoid that brand for other reasons. Looking at these TVs in store doesn't really help since the content being presented isn't very realistic. Do lots of research, take one home, watch every type of show from various sources, return it if you don't like it. Be careful setting modern large screens up and don't crack it from lifting/holding it the wrong. It's not easy to buy a quality TV these days but the reward for finding one you like has never been higher!

We’re sorry to hear that you're having issues with your TV. Regrettably, physical damage would not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty. You can visit https://www.tclusa.com/support/warranty to find more information on our warranty requirements and limitations. With situations like this, we encourage you to check with the retailer you purchased from to see if they cover this type of issue with the TV. Additionally, if you purchased an extended warranty, you may want to reach out to see if you can file a warranty claim through the extended warranty.

Really great tv.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finally found a store that had 1 tv left since they sold out fast. I connected last night and it looks amazing. Now I did a ton of research and read as many reviews as I could about vertical banding and other defects that this TV might have and luckily my tv does not have vertical banding. It does however have some DSE and the corners have shadows but from what I read it seems that it may be unavoidable with most back lit full array. Its not terrible but slightly noticable. I dont think its a deal breaker and i dont want to go to trouble of packing it up and returning it only to risk the second tv being worse. I would rate it a 5 if it wasnt for the DSE. Does anyone know if its fixable?
