Great picture for a mid-range 4k tv. local diming works fairly well for a tv in this price range. Not a fan of the remote, but not a deal breaker.

This TV has some great picture for the price but there are a lot of caveats. First, software bugs. A lot of reviews here have already gone over them, but a lot of the annoying ones have been resolved. However, that's not to say there still are issues. As of V074, Dolby Vision is still glitchy. I have been reading a lot about users who have issues with CEC support as well. My issues are with the hardware. It's like TCL has no quality control. My first TV had coil whine that was audible from at least 8 feet away. My replacement has dead backlight LEDs on the bottom right corner. I'm getting one more replacement soon and if this still has issues I'm going with another brand entirely since going through 3 TVs is ridiculous to find one without a hardware issue, especially for a TV that TCL considers to be on the higher-end at over $1000.

Tv is ultimately one of the best buget tv’s on the market. Great colors, great viewing angles, and deep black( as best it can for a mini led). I even hooked up my ps5 and I was suprised by the response time in fast pace settings. One issue is the blooming of white light around objects that are too bright in closeup perspective. The other is the google operatimg system is supers slow. Tends the lag often and load slow. I would think about adding a roku or fire tv. Apple tv will not give full functionality. It will not allow you to turn down volume or turn off tv.

    Addressing apps and input concerns.

Good tv Google Menu concerns unwarranted. There were some concerns before I bought. One was the comments about inputs the other lack of apps. Inputs: To get to inputs (I have 2 a Tivo and a blue ray player) the remote upper right button is settings then you toggle down and select inputs then select. There is also an app that just has a tv image when you rearrange the apps the tv one can be first if you want they can be in any order clicking it it selects the last input so usually its right but sometimes you need to go to inputs. So in this case its one click away. also it seems when input one is asleep and you wake it by turning it on the tv just goes on its own to that input so zero clicks. Apps: It asks for a certain group when you set up the tv but then you need to add missing ones. to add those the top menu has an apps tab you go down and there is a search field to find more apps thats where we found britbox and VUDU our current selection is Netflix Youtube prime disney hulu hbomax britbox peacock paramont apple tv vudu and the tv input , It shows all 12 at the bottom of the screen and a see all button but that's all we are using so they are easy to get to. To rearrange them you go to the see all then the top left button gives a rearrange function you highlight an app and move it around. Receiver: set up I used an optical cord It is always on as well as the tv speaker so no settings necessary. I just turn down tv volume when I turn the receiver on. My receiver used to be a switcher as well but only have the optical going to it and the hdmi goes straight to the blueray player and the tivo. This is a great way not to have to update everything. Blu ray issue: Lastly we had a problem with our old blue ray player it wouldn't connect I would see the highlight hdmi 2 but when I clicked on it it would show the movie for a minute and then go back to our tivo. It seemed it didn't like our player I switched cables everything just wouldn't work I bought a new blueray player a sony BDP -S3700 for 70.00 and everything works great.

I must say, I was truly impressed with this product. The image quality is excellent, and it comes with a wide range of fantastic features. I love the fact that it's Google TV, and the sound quality is quite decent as well. Moreover, it's a very affordable television option. If I had to mention one flaw, it would be that the interface can be a bit slow at times. However, considering the price point, I believe it offers a fair value for what you get.

Amazing TV. I went through a couple 4K TV’s for overall performance/quality for a variety of entertainment & i stuck with this one. It offers everything i need from gaming to movie picture quality. Inky blacks, great motion, super bright vivid image, beautiful colors, built in apps, etc. As far as im concerned i have no problems. One year review!

This tv is very nice. Not OLED level in blacks but a close replacement. Gets bright and has great clarity. With all of the updates TCL has given the TV it works great. Very Snappy. Does have a few hiccups here and there but what TV doesn't honestly. This is a good stop gap between buying a more expensive mini led or OLED. I still will be trying to purchase a more expensive mini LED or OLED in 2023 . But I will keep this TV for my bedroom. The only bad thing I can really say about it is it doesn't upscale particularly great and only two 2.1.

Best Buy helped me get this tv since they had issues getting another tv I purchased. I had a 4 series TCL which lasted me 4 years with no issues so I felt comfortable buying this TV. For the price point it doesn’t get much better. The google platform is a lot better than Roku or android. I get compliments from visitors all the time. I highly recommend this tv! Sound quality is great too I find no need for a sound bar even though I originally wanted one.

I searched for a while on this purchase and value for the amount paid, this is a great tv. To be clear, I don't use the Google TV platform that is installed on the tv, I use an Apple TV. But I can note that the system is markedly better on a Chromecast with Google TV device than on this tv. The sound using the built in Google TV is a bit lower in grade. The only gripe I have is in regards to the motion pixelating that occurs around moving objects. Otherwise, the tv is awesome. Picture is tremendous, connectivity options are adequate. The brightness is incredible as well. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with the performance.

This TV has some fantastic picture quality albeit it does take some tinkering to get it just right in some of the picture modes. Gaming features automatic low latency, 120hz refresh rate, and variable refresh rate are all here and accounted for. Also of importance is that the tv has two HDMI 2.1 ports for support of current-generation consoles PS5 and Xbox Series. The value for money and quality of picture warrant the 4 stars but as some other reviews have stated the software needs work. Accessing the settings sometimes knocks you back to home screen among other issues. I feel confident that it can be improved via updates but for now 4 stars.

Best in class contrast and black levels, great color, excellent Google TV "smart app" system. I purchased this TV at Best Buy for $150 less than the same TV with the Roku smart app system. I consider the two "smart app" systems equivalent--except the Google TV system integrates better with my Google Pixel phone. I've purchased three "6-series" TCL sets. There is no better value if picture quality is very important. Sound quality is the same as any TV--mediocre. Get a real sound system.

The TV is great. Awesome picture quality and sound. However, the software bugs need to be fixed and cause a lot of usage issues. Especially HBO Max, it is super buggy and takes extremely long to respond. Using other apps after HBO Max also becomes difficult. Some other Google TV UI bugs are present. Hopefully things will get better after software updates. (Currently running the latest software with auto-update turned on)
