Great picture quality. Software still buggy

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I took a chance after reading reviews of the 2021 vs 2020 models of this TV, The major difference being that the 2021 is Google TV OS vs the Roku TV OS. There are some hardware advantages to the 2021 model also. better 120hz compatibility. 2.1 eARC ports, and maybe a few more benefits. As many other reviews have stated, the software sometimes can be frustrating with this TV. I occasionally have to unplug it completely for it to come back on. I just purchased a separate Chromecast with Google TV, to see if using a separate streamer mitigates these issues. I also just read that Google/Android TV 12 just was released. It wont be available outside developers probably until next year but hopefully these software issues are addressed with the new update.

I love the brightness and clarity of the picture, that being said, I may have just gotten a good panel. I know it's a panel lottery when it comes to the budget brands but I've had good luck with TCL. No way you're going to get all these features and picture quality for this price compared to a Samsung, LG, or Sony. I'm quite pleased with set and the current Black Friday pricing on it unreal. I don't think you'll be dissapointed with this TV.

Best tv for the money

The Hisense u8g is great too, but is 30% more expensive right now. Oleds have long term reliability issues and are not bright enough to justify their high price. All the other name-brand Qleds are way overpriced compared to this one.

I Will Never Buy Another TCL Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.About a year out, the TV started slowly developing a large blob of darkness/off color in the upper center portion of the screen. It soon became unbearable. Unfortunately, TCL refused to stand behind their defective product because it was (just) past the 1 year warranty period. Future buying decisions just got a bit less complex for me.

Keep an eye out for TCL's software update...

Software is mostly fine but occasionally dies; supposedly they are working on it. If you're going to just use a Roku stick or Chromecast, these software issues shouldn't affect you.

Great TV for a great price

Best budget brand out there - i have a four year old 55” 6-series still going strong and now this one - gorgeous picture - great TV. Also so fun to game with on ps5 … 120hz 4k … yeah thats great.
