Great Picture and Little Reflection

The colors are better than any other TV we have owned, and there is very little reflection. We attached a Roku Soundbar, so I can't speak to the smart TV functions. I also like that there is a manual control to turn off the Google Voice Assistant function.

Not sure where the other comments are coming from regarding the software. This has been recently updated and the Google interface is flawless. Best TV ive owned.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: - Beautiful 4k resolution at 65''inch. - Great visual detail and delivery - Google/Android interface with plenty of applications and more available to download if needed. My family has really liked the home application layout and style. - Amazing sound quality along with EQ adjustments options if you need to adjust a frequency. - Quick menu/settings access for any input changes or picture settings. Cons: - From time to time, an application may freeze or not load. You will need to restart / force quit an app every now and then. (still rare tho) - TV pauses sometimes or has trouble loading a video? It could be a Wifi limitation. (nothing terrible tho, just got to turn it off and on again simply.) - Brightness setting changes can be strange when watching a "Dolby Visual" movie. (there is limited picture adjustments such as brightness.)

Good TV for the Price

The picture quality is as close as you can get to OLED without the pice of OLED. The Xbox series X looks stunning on this tv. It plays at 120 frames per second(fps) without any issues. This is the tv you will want for next gen consoles.

The software and functionality is trash. Multiple apps just won't work until you reboot the TV, and sometimes reboot it again!!!??? Sometimes xbox over HDMI just won't transmit sound until you reboot the TV once or twice! Wait and see if TCL updates the software to a non Alpha version or consider getting a TV that you don't have to spend 15 minutes trying to launch netflix or use your gaming system.

Nothing compares for the price

Brightess is usually set at its lowest level. Anything above 40 is absolutely blinding. Android tv is great. Remote is cheap but functional. The tv itsel looks nice with its small bezels and brushed stainless steel trim at the bottom.

Nor Ready For Prime Time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Not impressed so far. The picture is ok, but the Google TV OS is slow and buggy. For example, to adjust the picture settings you have to select the settings button on the remote which takes you completely out of the program your watching to the main menu where you have to scroll over to your user icon and then selected settings from drop-down menu. Neither my Google TV Chromcast or Hisense UG8 with Android TV works this way. They'd better get this fixed fast. The TV also suffers from white crush.

Stay AWAY from the ones with the Google OS…

TCL has always had the Roku OS, and so I didn’t even check to see the OS before I mounted the tv. I ended up plugging in a Roku stick but now have to use two remotes, because my Roku remote won’t operate the TV. Please, TCL, don’t fix what not broken. Google OS is AWFUL.

Worst software ever

First, an issue where I could not get sound out of any item plugged into an HDMI port. Had to do a factory reset to get it working. Then, I tried to cast something to the TV, and now none of the software works. I just get a blank screen. I can still trigger a device to turn on the tv of I power on that device, so I can still play PS5, but I can't access my tv settings or anything else.

Great but firmware/software issues as of 09/08/21

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing picture quality, some of the deepest blacks I've seen outside of OLED and the last plasma tvs. Huge issue like mentioned in another review here though, the latest update to the firmware is a mess, apps crash, content plays for a few seconds if you're lucky and crashes to error screens. If the tv hasn't been reset/restarted recently the menu screens are really laggy. Whatever latest update TCL made to this tv caused huge issues because from i see in the initial reviews of it on YouTube there were none of these issues experienced with the review units. This is obviously software issues, but it's so bad it should get one star but the picture quality makes it 2 sadly outside of YouTube nothing plays video for very long. Hopefully an update is issued asap. 1300 dollar televisions shouldn't be this buggy of a mess out of the box.

Great hd picture, cant get eARC surround to work

All I get on streaming channels are a crackling noise. This kills the home theater experience dead on arrival. If anyone has a suggested fix, I’m all ears. Did the whole power off/on, unplug, plug-in again thing. Frustrated beyond my limits. Grrrrr.

Amazing tv

I was debating this tv or the Hisense U8G so I chose this one because of it being a Google TV, supposed to do a bit more than the Android TVs. The picture quality is great after a few tweaks in setting and I had no problems with my app like some reviewer mentioned, and was easy setup. CON: no temperature setting.
