Great hd picture, cant get eARC surround to work

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sadly, cannot get the Dolby Digital surround sound to work with my Pioneer VSX-824 A/V Reciever using HDMI eARC input. All I get on streaming channels are a crackling noise. This kills the home theater experience dead on arrival. If anyone has a suggested fix, I’m all ears. Did the whole power off/on, unplug, plug-in again thing. Frustrated beyond my limits. Grrrrr.

Good to you but no Google store

Great but firmware/software issues as of 09/08/21

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing picture quality, some of the deepest blacks I've seen outside of OLED and the last plasma tvs. Huge issue like mentioned in another review here though, the latest update to the firmware is a mess, apps crash, content plays for a few seconds if you're lucky and crashes to error screens. If the tv hasn't been reset/restarted recently the menu screens are really laggy. Whatever latest update TCL made to this tv caused huge issues because from i see in the initial reviews of it on YouTube there were none of these issues experienced with the review units. This is obviously software issues, but it's so bad it should get one star but the picture quality makes it 2 sadly outside of YouTube nothing plays video for very long. Hopefully an update is issued asap. 1300 dollar televisions shouldn't be this buggy of a mess out of the box.

Amazing tv

I was debating this tv or the Hisense U8G so I chose this one because of it being a Google TV, supposed to do a bit more than the Android TVs. The picture quality is great after a few tweaks in setting and I had no problems with my app like some reviewer mentioned, and was easy setup. CON: no temperature setting.

3 years later still an excellent choice

I hung it over a gas fireplace and it has held up with no issues from the heat. The wireless wifi connection is very impressive never drops the connection.

Remote, color, and screen issues. Fail.

We have had significant issues with the remote recognizing and/or actioning commands, there is a heavy green tint to all objects on the screen, regardless of adjustment, and now there is a vertical line about four inches from the left edge of the screen. We have used this TV for maybe 10 hours total in two months. Thankfully I have the total tech membership and can return within 60 days. Now I see this same tv is $120 less than my purchase price… What a fail and complete disappointment

Great TV for the price

It has a beautiful picture, 4K HDR, plays games at 120 fps if wanted, and overall is a fantastic value.

Update firware on tcl telegram

I have come to realize whatever tv looks good to you, just get it. Review's are stupid, most people just repeat what they here, or worse lie for profit. So this tv is ok, probably should have given it 3 stars and ill buy a Samsung next time. Peace, One

Nearly perfect panel... Unless it's not.

Try to get it broken in fast, especially with best buys short return period. Whatever software bugs that existed in the past are fixed, and software updates are still coming from TCL as of mid Jan '23.

I notice a few kinks here and there like random black frames or occasional remnants from motion smoothing (though this could be an HDMI cable issue), but nothing serious. Earlier in the month Best Buy pulled the TV from their online store because of issues with the Google TV software integration, but TCL has since issued a new firmware/software update and I have not had any issues. I bet the TV was returned because of issues with the Google TV smart TV media, so it was great getting an amazing discount for a TV that was essentially brand new. No comment on the sound quality; I have only used a soundbar with the TV. 100% recommend.

Don't believe old reviews about Google TV. Mine works great so far. No software issues. I like it better than Roku system.
