    It is okay. The colors seem difficult to get right, and it is too dark in games. I cannot seem to get light working either.

    Shutter effect and halo on moving objects

    Picture will have a shutter effect sometimes and there is a halo effect on moving objects. Reached out to TCL customer service with no help. I read there are lots of issues with the Google version and TCL is going back to Roku. If there is a know issue with the Google version why won't they help out those customers.

    At first it seemed great, but after a while I noticed that the screen would flicker. The transition from dark to light would also be blurry. The TV would freeze when using some of the apps, and also the screen would go black because TV froze and I would have to unplug And plug it back in to fix it.

    Hardware great but curre software ruins experience

    Hardware on TV is great but the current software on it has ruined experience. Auto detect for aspect ratio doesn't work correctly, apps randomly freeze/won't restart and Android Remote app (iOS) is slow to respond and sometimes doesn't connect. Hopefully they'll get the software bugs fixed but we're returning the TV after having it for a week so that we don't get stuck with it in case they don't.

    Wait for next years model

    Had to return due to wifi not working. Picture was mixed. YouTube tv was grainy but Disney looked great. Os needs some tuning up. I would wait for next years model

    I wanted to love it, but the screen was defective

    Great looking TV picture however the screen had three dots about a dime size each and a black line about 2 feet long across the bottom third of the TV. It wasn’t as noticeable when watching a full color picture, but when watching hockey it couldn’t be ignored. Clearly a problem with the screen. I returned it and went with a different brand TV so I didn’t have to worry about lugging another defective unit back to Best Buy after installing it with a wall mount. Disappointing for sure. I really wanted to love this TV but seeing those dots and line was a killer for sure. Wish I would have taken pictures for an example to show. Oh well. A quick google search shows this happened a few times with other units. Would the replacement have been better? Not sure but I didn’t want to take the chance. I listed sound quality as poor because the E-Arc wouldn’t pass through Dolby Atmos back to my receiver no matter what setting I used. It wasn’t my receivers fault as it works just fine with the new tv.

    Great picture, terrible issues

    For the first few months this tv was great, but after 6 months the audio cuts out all the time. Or apps load with no sound. Restarting does nothing to help. I had a Samsung with no issues for years. Wish I could get rid of this thing

    Purchased Dec. 2021 FYI: Pay a little more attention than I when Best Buy loads this TV. The salesperson loaded the Roku version which I didn't notice until I got home, 2.5 hours away. I first contacted a store representaive and he continued trying to get me to keep the wrong TV. My next step was the store manager and she made it right. I didn't deduct any stars for this. At the current price of $699 for the 65" is a steal. The r646 has been a good TV with a few caveats along the way. The picture is great; producing a bright picture with deep blacks, I have noticed blooming only a couple times on older movies. The Google platform is easy to navigate though it is not perfect. Series that I am currently watching on both Prime and Netflix do not appear on the Continue watching row and most of the Popular movies and shows row are paywalled. The biggest issue as you may know is the software. As recommended, I ran a software update on initial startup. The only problem I had was with the volume contol, it was basically out of control. You push once up or down no difference, hold it a nonosecond an it would run way up or down. All the apps except Prime work great, I encounter buffering quite often, unless I use my firestick, no problem. Hmmmm.... Second software update: Hey, the volume control works perfect! But not without a price. Both USB ports were now powered all the time, causing me to use another remote to turn on and off the LED backlights. My soundbar would still power on with the TV, it just wouldn't connect via eARC. I now needed to turn on the soundbar first so the TV remote would control the volume. Great! In 2022 I'm having to now use THREE different remotes to watch this TV. An engineering feat.... Third software update: This update become available last week. I was a little skeptic in the beggining, though after a couple of days I went for it. This TV will now connect to my Dolby Atmos soundbar, though the volume now lags for several seconds when changing the channel or after taking it off pause. But, one less remote now. Just one, the USB ports were unchanged. Final thoughts: The picture on this TV rivials ones at twice the pricepoint. If you're on a budget or like me, wanting the most bang for your buck, I would pull the trigger at $699. Full price...probably not.

    I bought this TV having great exceptions but was disappointed. The picture quality is bad, doesn't look good in bright rooms. Casting all ways freezing and doesn't connect. Worse TV

    Worked Great

    Picture is clear, backlighting is bright. Backlighting is multi zone so local dimming is great. TV Pixels sometimes when watching sports. Sound quality is great. Google operating system works well. Tv was purchased as an open box and no the backlighting has went out.

    I got a Roku TV with TCL and they are the best, this Google TV with TCL is the worst (Slow, TV freezes, the LED light flicker and then TV restart by itself) If you have Alexa forget it to make it work as the application (Work with Alexa) never works, after calling TCL support that it was actually the worst support I ever called in India, they did not understand what was going on with the TV, they where not aware they had a google TV, I knew more than they did.TCL did an upgrade a week ago that supposed fix all the issue but they just got worse.. I am returning the TV.

    Think twice before you buy this TV. The user interface is terrible. It very difficult to set up with its own TCL soundbar. At least two or three times a day I have to reset the TV to get it to connect back to Wi-Fi. Difficult process! I do not recommend you buy this TV.
