Great buy

Also, the first shipment received was damaged. So it was a bit of hassle to haul it back to store to get another one shipped. First non brand model ...bought mostly Sony and Panasonic. So far, pleased with TCL. Question is, how long will it last.

Mounting issue

I'm passing this on hoping this can be fixed.

4K Audio/Video Lag, Poor Dark Images, Config Limit

Having Dolby Vision and Atmos virtualization is great, but any 4K HDR or Dolby Vision content has a slight audio/video lag, where audio is just slightly ahead of video. Dark on dark images are also not presented correctly and blend the two images together. For example, if a character is wearing a black shirt in front of a black background, then you cannot see their shirt and they look like a floating head. The ability to configure images and audio is very limited, making it impossible to fix these issues.

Excellent resolution.

Worth the wait for the sale price and jumped on it. Wasn’t disappointed and I think this was one good buy for the sale price.

TCL 65" 825 Series

I have only 1 month of viewing. So far I'm very happy with the TV. I have this in my bedroom. I have mid level Hisense and Samsung TV's around the house and this TCL 825 is my favorite. So far all good.

REALLY GOOD FALD QLED

Not bad enough to take it back tho. Its a pretty good QLED TV especially when you only paid 999.99 on sale. Would recommend.

Great mid price tv.

Finally had to mount a fixed antenna and that doesn’t make me happy. The roku channels all work fine.

However, this time my husband did a lot of research and we decided to go with this TCL which is considerably less expensive than the brands we usually buy. So glad we did!!! It’s a great tv with beautiful color!!!

Hopefully the next update fixes this issue.

One big problem

This is my first series 8. I've had it for about two months, and suddenly I can't turn it on from time to time. I hit the power button over and over again and can see the light blink at the bottom, so I know it's sending a signal. Where it usually goes to a home menu screen, it's just black. Eventually I learned I could make it work correctly by disconnecting the power source for a few seconds and plug it back in, then hit the power button and I get the normal start up screen. I'll probably be returning it soon.

Audio/Image Issues after 5 Months

Owned for 6 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a really good TCL 55R607 that I only had for 2yrs (and 2 other lesser TCL TVs). But I wanted a bigger TV and was taken in by the RTINGS review of the 65” 8-Series. I was a little disappointed that the quality difference was not as great as I’d hoped between the R607 and Q825. But that is not the issue or reason for this review. The big issue started in the past month (after owning about 5 months). Started happening when I turned on the TV (after being off for a period of time). Both audio & video images would rapidly flicker in and out. Was watching Live TV using TiVo. I switched to Netflix (via Roku TV app) with the same results. I used the Roku/TCL Live TV turner and TV was still misfiring. The only thing that worked was unplugging the TV (only a few seconds was needed) and then turning the TV back on. Audio & Sound was then normal while I kept the TV on. My only work around is to always unplug the power cord briefly before turning on the TV. Other than feeling ripped off for having the TCL fail after only 5 months, I am concerned that this a progressive issue that won’t be corrected by just unplugging power cord for a few seconds. I gave it 2 stars because I’m hoping there might be a solution. It can’t be fixed for free or on the cheap than I’d be lowering my review rating.

Best tv I’ve owned.

With recent roku update, I get TrueHD Dolby Atmos when watching movies on my uhd blu ray player. My only regret is that I should have bought the 75 inch I think this is a great value.

Doesn’t improve Minecraft graphics

The graphics were horrible on the old tv. So, I went and bought this one. Minecraft graphics are still pixelated but watching movies is amazing.

Close, but no cigar

The mini-led technology is disappointing with how it handles local dimming. I was hoping software updates would improve this, and they have, but not significantly. Also, my unit will turn on with BFI being processed, but not enabled in the menu. It is a simple fix by turning Motion Clarity on and off, but it can be annoying. The lack of Hdmi 2.1 is also a let down.
