Of course after I buy it, it drops in price 100 dollars. So far, it is a very nice TV. I have noticed once in awhile the Google os messed up, and I reboot the TV. This seems to take care of it. I have updated the os twice now.

The TCL QM7K delivers impressively deep blacks and strong contrast that make movies and HDR content look far more premium than its price suggests. It performs well in both dark home theater setups and bright living rooms thanks to its high brightness and solid reflection handling. Colors are rich, vibrant, and punchy, especially with HDR gaming and streaming content. There is still a bit of blooming around bright objects on dark backgrounds, though TCL’s local dimming keeps it mostly under control. The built-in speakers are serviceable for casual viewing, but they lack the depth and clarity needed for a truly cinematic experience. Even with a 144Hz panel, the processor can occasionally feel a little sluggish in menus and image processing — but overall, the QM7K is outstanding bang for the buck.

Stunning color and quick refresh rate

I bought this tv after my 6 year old samsung tv finally gave out and let me tell you the difference in quality is night and day. Every color pops on this TV and the blacks are nearly like an OLED. What really impressed me though is the refresh rate, no longer having to sacrifice slow refresh rate in order to play video games is a huge plus. The google TV integrated is amazing, previously I had a 4k streaming box and now I dont have to use it since its the same thing but integrated into the TV itself. The quick settings on the TV make changing audio input and brightness a breeze. At first after reading countless reviews I though this TV was not going to be bright enough but let me tell you this thing gets BRIGHT especially at night its nearly blinding I have to turn it down to 40 percent brightness. My only gripe with the TV was the remote, I have a soundbar that does not have ARC to control via hdmi so I had to use the remote that came with the soundbar. To fix this I had to purchase a One For All TCL remote and program the volume buttons to work with both the TV and soundbar. After fixing this the setup was perfect. Trust me for your money this TV is miles away from the competition. They showed this TV off at CES 2025 (the 100 inch version) and I was blown away by the picture quality and the price could not be beaten by their competitors.

    Great TV For The Price

I really this is a great TV for the price. I have owned the previous model to this and ended up having so many issues that TCL just refunded me and sent the TV back. This one has not had any issues. As far as picture quality goes, yes, it has nice black levels for a non OLED. Nearly as good for what you will actually notice unless you are in a light sealed room. Brightness is good as well with good contrast and colors. It works outstandingly with my PS5, no complaints. The VRR word flawlessly and picture quality is great. My issue comes with PC. If you are wanting to game on this with PC and are using an Nvidia card, it seems like there are still some lingering issues from the last version. Picture quality and motion processing are not that great, brightness drops for some reason, and overall crispness isn't quite where it needs to be, and the VRR is really lacking under 80ish FPS. I am also comparing to a Samsung QN90C as my other gaming TV, but that is a 2023 year TV and it far out performs this TV almost like a complete graphical upgrade. If you're on a console or PC that runs 4k 60-85FPS, I think this will be fine. Great for movies and all of that as well. I am also honestly impressed with the built in speakers. On my Samsung TV the speakers are trash and I use a Sonos Arc sound bar. Obviously this TV won't be that good but I actually am not buying a sound bar for it because the speakers in this TV are impressive. High volume will lack bass, so if you watch a lot of movies and want that immersion, you'll want a sound bar. But this is completely acceptable as a casual TV or something for a setting like mine where I want a shop TV to watch YouTube, play some games, and play someusoc from time to time.

Premium Performance Without the Premium Price Tag

I picked up the 65” TCL QM7K last November, and after several months of daily use, I can honestly say it’s been an outstanding value for the money. Full disclosure — my main TV is a premium Sony OLED, so I was concerned I’d be underwhelmed by this one. I’ve gotten pretty used to OLED blacks and contrast, and I wasn’t sure a QD Mini-LED would hold up. To my surprise, that hasn’t been the case at all. The brightness on the QM7K is excellent, especially in a well-lit room, and the contrast is impressive. Blacks are deep, colors are vibrant without looking overdone, and overall it delivers a really punchy, clean image. Is it identical to OLED in a dark room? No — but it’s much closer than I expected, especially at this price point. I’ve used it for regular TV watching, movies, and gaming, and it’s performed well across the board. HDR content looks great, motion handling has been solid for sports, and gaming has been smooth with low input lag and great responsiveness. For a 65” TV in this price range, it feels like you’re getting a lot more than you paid for. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it, and knowing what I know now, I’d buy it again without hesitation.

    Questioning my choice

The picture on the TV is very nice. There are many adjustments that I still want to play around with. The remote control is HORRIBLE. I'm sure it's probably a learning curve, but I'm still unsure how to use some of the buttons. It's quite difficult for my husband who has vision problems. The circle at the top, left, right up, down, etc doesn't light up, so that's an issue. I HATE the stand. It is quite sturdy, however, we attached it at second from the bottom holes, which by measurement should have allowed plenty of room for the soundbar. It doesn't. My soundbar won't sit close to the tv because the stand is large and slopes forward. It is completely impractical to try to reattach the stand to the one notch lower. The tv is extremely heavy and we didn't feel safe leaning it forward and gently placing it on the padded table without hurting the screen. We'll need to place a thick piece of plywood under the stand and hope it will allow it to set far enough above the soundbar ... which is only 2" tall. I'm having to raise my arm to get aim at the sensor. I've tried setting the remote on RF instead of IR. I guess I'll need to continue to play with it. This model has Google TV. I switched from Roku, thinking I didn't like Roku. In hindsight, I was having trouble with my old tv, not the Roku. Roku is super simple. The remote is super simple. Hopefully I'll adapt soon.

I recently bought the TCL QM7K and it’s been a fantastic value for the price. The Quantum Dot tech delivers vibrant colors and sharp contrast, making movies and shows look stunning, especially with Dolby Vision support. For gamers, the 4K at 120Hz and HDMI 2.1 are a big win, offering smooth, lag-free gameplay. The sound is decent but not amazing, so I’d recommend adding a soundbar for a better experience. The Google TV interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, with plenty of app options. For the price, this TV gives a premium experience, with impressive picture quality and solid gaming performance. Definitely recommend if you’re after a budget-friendly, high-performance TV!

Have had this for a little over a month and I have still not been able to play with all of the audio and video settings but this is honestly a fantastic set. Even in bright rooms, have to squint because the brightness. Gaming on it is great. HDR , no matter the content is vibrant. SDR content is fantastic as well. Google tv is my new favorite OS. The speakers (65 inch and above i believe) is a B&O sound system plus built in subs. Honestly, best audio i have heard from a tv. If it is late night and i have the surround system off, the audio from this tv is plenty, even if i watch during the day. Had a tcl 6 series 2020 model 55inch before this so that spoiled me for picture quality. This will out perform in real world use any samsung tv and is loaded with more features. Unlesss you are planning on purchasing an oled, don't bother with anything else and get this!

We’ve been watching this TV for a month now. It was easy to set up, the remote was easy to learn. The picture is great for us. Lots of details in close-ups, and some scenes appear 3-D with different modes (we think that’s neat). The only sports we watch is car racing, and the refresh rate seems to be fine for that in the close up scenes with the cars zooming by. Colors and brightness are outstanding in default settings in our living room. The room is large and bright in the day, and dark in the evening. We were told that we may need to get a sound bar because the speakers were in the back. But I believe the sound resonates from the screen, and the sound in our living room is fine with the TV alone. I can always switch it to our surround system if I need to or want to, but so far I haven’t had to.

I couldn’t believe how good the picture looked when I went to Best Buy. This QD-Mini LED has nice inky blacks that are close to OLED but with the advantages of no burn in and having great brightness. When shopping for a tv, I was worried about off angle images because most LEDs lose color and brightness if you are viewing the screen from the side. This model has a new HVA panel that helps control the viewing angles. While not 100% it’s still a lot better than our 2 year old Samsung tv. The speakers also sound very good. One benefit this tv has over Samsung is that it supports Dolby Vision. I watched Avatar in Dolby Vison and the picture was amazing. I was debating between this model and the QM6K but I went for the QM7K because it has a nicer stand, better build quality, brighter, has more dimming zones and more. The QM6K is still a nice tv but I couldn’t resist the QM7K and got it on sale.

I was trying to decide on a TV for my living room. I have an OLED for my computer monitor so I know how good they are but they do come at a premium cost. The reviews for this TV are no joke. It has great brightness, quite good blacks/dimming, good colors and all for a fraction of what other TVs cost. This is quite easily 90% as good as Samsung/LG OLED but at 50% (or even less) of the price. You really can't go wrong with it.

My husband wanted a more well-known TV brand, but then we compared the picture quality of the other brands to TCL, and there was NO comparison. We decided to go with the TCL and have loved it ever since. The contrast is amazing and the blacks are black and not grey. I love the intuitiveness of the smart TV functions so much better than our last TV. We went from a much smaller TV and we were worried a 65" would be too big for our family room. But we are so glad we got this size of TV and the TCL brand.

The TV has great colors, and brightness and depth. When watching HDR10+ and Dolby Vision content, it really POPS out of the screen. Also I found the OS to be pretty good, I used to use samsung's and found the os to be laggy and limited, being Google OS this has more options. So far so good, have had this for 2 months.

I’ve been using the TCL QM7K for a while now, and honestly, I’m really impressed. The picture quality is the first thing that stands out. Colors look bright and lively without being overdone, and the contrast is excellent — dark scenes stay dark, but you still see plenty of detail. Watching movies and shows in 4K HDR looks amazing, especially at night. What surprised me most is how bright this TV gets. Even during the day with sunlight coming in, the screen stays clear and easy to see. Sports look smooth, action scenes are sharp, and there’s very little glare.

Out of the box its quality is great. But if you're willing to invest a little time to calibrate the settings, as I have, then you can get some really stunning results. And I don't have any professional equipment or software, either - just my eyes and ears. So anyone can do the same if the desire is there. Here are our results with our set. 4K DV, HDR+: OTB - stunning, Calibrated: near perfect 4K HDR: OTB - great, Calibrated: stunning Sub 4K HD: OTB - very good, Calibrated: great, some stunning SD: OTB - decent (on par with most other sets), Calibrated - quite good (on par with some other sets) Motion Handling: OTB - great, Calibrated - excellent Internal/On Board Apps: Those are all we use, and the ones we use all work flawlessly. Sound: We use a Samsung HW-Q800C soundbar and SWA-9500S rear speakers. We tried the internal sound system of the TV, and it just doesn't compare. But with Passthrough mode over HDMI eARC, the sound via the soundbar/speakers is excellent. Two caveats. 1) TrueHD tracks are converted to Dolby PCM Surround tracks via Dolby MAT, but since they're both lossless formats, we don't notice any difference, but 2) PCM Surround (5.1 and 7.1) tracks are downmixed to PCM Stereo tracks, and the difference is easily noticeable. I contacted TCL about both over multiple backs and forths, and in the end they closed the issue saying it's our soundbar's fault, which is bogus, since the same tracks from the same files played into the same soundbar from a ShieldTV device are unaltered, and the soundbar plays them flawlessly, both as TrueHD and PCM Surround. So TCL just doesn't want to admit that it's their problem and then fix it. Sad. All other tracks and formats/codecs are sent unaltered to the soundbar and played flawlessly. So outside of primarily the PCM Surround downmix to PCM Stereo issue, the sound processing is great. Off Angle: Our seating goes only about 45 degrees to each side, and within that range the picture quality never diminishes. So they've done a great job there. It does diminish some at closer to 90 degree angles, but it's not horrible even there. Light Reflection: We have ceiling lights a few feet from where the TV is mounted, and with them on you can see some reflection. But for most scenes, it's diminished pretty well, although you can still see it if you're specifically looking for it. With darker scenes, though, yes, it's clearly visible, and it even produces some interesting rainbow streaks then. We've adjusted by simply going to room lighting that is farther away, as well as table lamps below the level of the TV, and that fixes it for us. And of course, when we watch it with no lights on, there's no issue at all. And the ambient light from windows is never a problem for us. We don't play video games, so we have no review there. Summary: Overall, this is the near perfect TV for us, so we give it 5 stars. 4 is too low for the only issue we've had that doesn't have a work-around - the PCM Surround downmixing to PCM Stereo over HDMI eARC. It's really stupid of TCL to not fix this, especially given that they convert TrueHD to Dolby PCM Surround, so they obviously have the ability to output PCM Surround. Still, that one issue doesn't warrant dropping it to 4 stars. So there you have it. Happy viewing!

Seriously impressed by how good this TV is. Bought it last month hearing good things and it was on a great sale so I took the chance. This thing is insanely good. The dimming zones get you pretty close to OLED quality, and while you might occasionally get a little bit of haloing, you can remedy that with a recalibration. The gaming features are great and it pushes high frame rates like a champ. Not to mention the speakers, which have effectively made my (admittedly midrange) Sony soundbar obsolete. If you’re looking for a TV that hits all the marks without being thousands of dollars, you’ve found it.
