It's a cheap, big TV. Android TV is admittedly amazing, especially compared to Vizio SmartCast. This particular TV is not very bright -- as in, I often close the blinds if I'm trying to watch something mid-day... but you can't beat the price.

The Tv picture and sound is great. The only thing I was disappointed with is that I could not download the directtv or roku apps for streaming. This Tv comes with Google Chromecast installed Therefore, I still have to have my roku hooked up.

Great purchase. Picture quality is awesome. It’s heavy because it’s big. Sits flush on my wall. Easy to attach to a wall mount. Sound quality is great.

The TV is good overall. It has a good picture and is fairly sharp. The main criticism is that the brightness level is not adequate in darker scenes. When I first came across a dark screen I tried to increase brightness and found it was already as high as it can go. Another thing, although of much lesser importance, is that the tv does not allow my cable connection remote control to change between hdmi options. That can only be done with the TCL remote. My cable company sent people out to try to fix it, and they could not do it. The TCL remote control also does not have a mute button, It is only possible to lower the volume to zero.

A good deal for a TCL unit 70 inches. Amazed with all the smart stuff that comes with it. Simple setup and the menu is easy to understand. We had the unit up and running in no time. Picture is very clear and good sharpness. Great deal and I'm happy.

Overall not a bad tv. Easy to use interface, picture and audio quality is great. Kinda wish there were more audio options as in being able to disable tv speakers when using sound bar. No that’s my only complaint.

Picture quality is a bit grainy on some programming so I'm not sure if this TV upscales HD content to 4K or not. Have a fiberoptic TV service cable box connected to the HDMI port and found that the audio had a major delay behind the video when changing channels or pausing the DVR. The only way I could get it to be in sync was to hit the home button on the remote and then select the HDMI source again, however, once I changed channels or paused the program, the audio sync issue would come back. Contacted Geek Squad and they are coming to my house to exchange the TV later this week, so I'm hoping this was just an isolated issue.

Bought this as an extra tv in our third living room. It has a nice picture straight out of the box but required some small tweaking for a good picture. I would definitely buy this tv again for other rooms.

After trying the Vizio smart TV's, I was really looking forward to this TCL with Android. I like the Android system: clean, play store just like my phone, easy to install apps, easy to place them on the home page. The OS was everything I expected it to be. The TV, however, was another experience entirely. The one positive is the voice remote; kudos for that. I happened to be in the middle of watching "Invasion" on Apple TV when I bought this TV, and S1E6 was unwatchable. Practically the entire episode was basically completely black, with small flashes of light occasionally at the edges of the screen, but I could never make out any details. This was in a dark room, no glare, etc. Ultimately I played with the picture controls, and changed the Gama which allowed me to see a washed out picture with some details...but I've never had to modify any picture details on any other TV I've ever owned. I actually had to plug in my old Vizio to watch the episode (and though dark, I could see every detail on my Vizio). Not only was the picture bad, but the Apple TV app on this TCL is horrible. I don't know if this is an Android TV-specific issue, or if this is a TCL issue, but Apple TV regularly fails in multiple ways: 1. It says episodes are not available, and I have to return to the home screen and restart Apple TV before I can watch episodes. This happens about 90% of the time after watching one episode and letting it attempt to start the next episode automatically. 2. About 80% of the time when an episode starts playing, it will either not have sound, not have video, or not have either. I can sometimes tell the episode is playing because I'll see the closed captions, but otherwise the screen is completely black, or only displays the Apple TV logo. With missing video, the only solution I've found is exiting to the home screen and coming back into Apple TV, which solves the problem about 50% of the time. Otherwise, I have to switch to a different series (or sometimes a completely different streaming app) and watch an episode or two of that before coming back. With only audio missing, about 60% of the time I can just skip back a few seconds, or pause and resume, and the audio will come back. Since this is my first Android TV, I don't know if these problems are with the Android TV Apple TV app, and would be the same on every Android TV, or if something about the TCL doesn't play nicely with the Apple TV app. What I do know is that the Apple TV app works perfectly on my old Vizio. I think I'll have to return this TV. Apple TV is basically unusable, and I don't know if it is the TCL, or the Apple TV app, and can't risk missing my return window.
