Customers recognize the 75" Class 6-Series Mini-LED QLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV's exceptional picture quality, including its impressive black levels and brightness, making it a great value. However, some users experienced issues with the TV's software and remote control functionality. While many appreciate the HDR capabilities and gaming features, a few reported audio problems.

Picture quality is great most of the time but image tearing and slowing happen frequently. The software needs a lot of work. Connected a Sonos Arc sound bar and periodically certain apps will not have voice sounds but the background music will still play. This issue can be resolved by reseting the tv completely. I have made sure that the TV is updated with the latest firmware but the bugs persist. The HDMI CEC worked fine, then stoped working after needing to rest the tv.

This TV looks very good. I'm happy with the picture. But Google TV is a mess. I'm not sure what TCL was thinking ditching ROKU. But I'm very close to returning this item bc of the software. I have all updates installed and the interface is still horrible. Setting up eARC was frustrating. Setting up HDMI control other devices was frustrating. Adjusting the picture is frustrating. The TV has to be reset often to get inputs to work.

My first QLED and it's a mini led one at that. Don't ask cause I don't know either! All I know is that the picture is awesome. I did have an issue with it, called the geek squad for help and all it was, was a smart setting that needed to be turned off. It works great with the newer gaming consoles. If you don't know the TCL brand, stick to what you know. TCL doesn't pay me to advertise for them but it is a great TV.

I bought the TV (75R646) after reading the reviews and doing research on rtings.com! I'm glad I bought it! Everything that's negative in the reviews has been fix with software updates and for the blooming it is easily fixed in the setting. The picture is beautiful and the OS system is very quick and easy to navigate.

I had a a super weird experience with purchasing this. It was taken off the BB's website and in store inventory the day I went to purchase it. Thankfully a helpful store associate located one on the sales floor. It was on sale but when they went to ring it up, it was the original price. The manager had never seen an item pulled off inventory mid-day and went ahead and gave me the sale price. I found out later, TCL had briefly taken the item off the market due to Google OS issues. This is the first TCL model equipped with the Google OS. I chose this over the Roku model so I could add a VPN and watch Netflix from other countries. My wife and I had a ton of problems with it when we first got it. If too many apps were open, the whole system would just bog down and we'd have to unplug it. My advice to anyone purchasing this....if you want to use the in-TV apps (which you should because Netflix, Disney and HBO Max have several items available in Dolby Vision/Atnos), make sure you turn off "Stand by" mode and the TV completely shuts off. This way, all apps are restarted. You do have to go through the TCL power on title screen but it'll save you a lot of headaches and will work much more smoothly.

The picture quality in HD, HDR and HDR10 is incredible. The way it handles Dolby Vision and Upscaling sucks really bad. Their will be some movies and shows that are unwatchable because of the processing behind the scenes completely losing it. The new matrix movie on HBO MAX can give you a stroke when watching it because the brightness and colors are consistently fighting itself. I am not even going to comment on the operating system. I returned my set and just spent some extra money on the LG OLED.

I came across the television on sale/ clearance at Best Buy and couldn’t believe I could get the 75 inch for $1299. Read the reviews briefly and decided to give it a try anyway for that type of savings. Upon waiting for delivery day, I found articles about how Best Buy pulled/ recalled the tv In December because of complaints, something the employee should have told me because I asked specific questions about that topic. Tv arrives on a Saturday in time to watch playoff football and the picture was fine but nothing that looked any better than my previous tcl * series from a few years ago. After the games I hooked up the ps5 and quickly found out that hdmi 2.1 port number 2 doesn’t work. Port 1 seems okay. After that bummer, the software issues started. You lose sound when going from Netflix and some other apps to antenna tv. Only way to fix is to restart the tv. This happens daily. I often get kicked out YouTube to the Home Screen and occasionally freezes to where another restart is needed. One one special antenna Chanel the picture comes in zoomed and no way to fix it. This is just the start of the isssues. I am returning it before it’s deadline but there are to other tvs in the price range with the same features. I’ll probably bight the bullet and pay the extra cash for the lg OLED c1 and call it a day. At least I known that works superbly with no issues.

Look no further if you want to have great visual treat for half the price of some expensive brands. Amazed by the picture quality and google OS is by far the best you can get. There are few issues like if you have firestick connected via HDMI, the TCL remote can't be used to navigate but its okay. Overall very impressed with the quality.

I must’ve won the panel lottery because I haven’t had any problems with the display. If you use this tv as a dumb tv you will never have problems. I couple this tv with an AV receiver, Apple TV, and PS5. Without a secondary streaming device, the software is buggy. Just like any other smart tv. If you want to save money and get a tv display, this is for you. Please do yourself a favor and get an Apple TV or Chromecast.

I opted for this qled set over an oled on due to my concern over screen burn-in, and it has proven, so far, to be an excellent choice. The picture is beautiful, especially with UHD content, and the google tv system works well. The brightness and 75” size make for a potent viewing experience; I am not a gamer, so no comment on that area. I have not had any of the problems other user have had with this tv, so I can recommend it based on my situation.

Great tv, with amazing gaming features and great contrast ratio and blacks due the mini led full array backlighting. Great for the price. @WHILE IT WAS WORKING@, why? A month after I bought it, it started to shut off randomly. At first would do it once a day or two, so I thought it was the buggy software. But no, now it does it daily, and many times, so often, that I can only watch my TV like 10 minutes at a time. And it started happening right after my return period on Best buy. So now I have to deal with TCL's awful customer support, they have asked me 3 times to send them a video proving its happening, why the heck would I lied about this? The 3 times I have sent the video and they complain is to large so they can't receive it, well, that's not my fault. Well, while I'm fighting with theirs support, I continue to have an expensive paper weight on my wall. I don't know what else to do. It appears to be a power supply/circuit board issue, because when it happens, its like if the power cord was pulled, as the TV does a complete cold start when turned back on. I will continue to fight with TCLs customer support, but to anyone, I would tell you, pay a little more and get another TV from a more reputable brand like Sony, Samsung etc.

    Why the CEC issue?

This is a nice TV. I am upgrading from an older 6 series (R615) with the Roku OS. I use mine with an Apple TV and Xbox primarily. Overall am pretty satisfied with the picture and has noticeably better contrast management from my older 6 series. However, there is one UI fail that I can’t seem to get past that may ultimately annoy me enough to return it: the CEC function does not work properly: (1) TV will only intermittently turn on when my ATV turns on and (2) TV will not turn off when I turn the ATV off. What you get is a disclaimer on the screen that there is no signal so you have to reach for the TV remote to turn the TV off. This may seem like a minor annoyance and it’s certainly a first world problem. However, this is functionality that is expected to just work with today’s convergence of media equipment and indeed my older TCL 6 series and my not that old 5 series both have the same setups and work just fine where the CEC works properly so I can just use the ATV remote to operate all functions. I did some superficial research and it seems to be an issue with the R646 sets with the Google TV operating system. And the most recent Reddit thread that I read (from October 2021) leads me to the conclusion that TCL has not addressed it and in fact TCL responses posted by other owners can be summarized as: “that’s how it is designed to work.” So, in the end, it’s a nice TV, but if you use any other device and expect that CEC functionality to work, it won’t right now (and I have no idea if TCL will ever fix the issue). But if you plan to just use the TV itself, this is a non-issue for you.
