Disappointed right now
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, I’ll update this if the issue I’m having gets taken care of, but three months in and it stops working out of the blue. Looks like the backlight from what I can tell (and what the internet tells me). If it’s in and out and fixed, then things happen, I’ll call it OK and a fluke, but if not, then buyer beware!!

TCL 75Q825 "Best Picture Quality" for the value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned "Premium" TVs for many years and the TCL 8 series by far wins in the best picture quality category. My viewing atmosphere incorporates all types of lighting throughout the day, and still this TV exudes brightness and deep rich natural blacks. Set-up process is extremely easy, quick, seamless and the out of box experience by far is a win for TCL. Not the slimmest set in the industry, however the cosmetic design radiates "Premium" fit and finish. RoKu menu is obviously a fan favorite and easy to navigate along with flawless streaming capabilities. Fantastic investment.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a great TV and the Roku interface is effortless to use. Size was a big factor in decision so I was excited when they had the 75" version available. Had this TV for a few years and it still looks amazing.

Not a good TV. Buy another
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy this TV. It started off good, but loads of sounds and OS issues. Best Buy will not help you, they simply suggest to go to the manufacturer or pay $299 for a Geeksquad membership. Buy a reputable TV brand like LG, Sony or Samsung

Surprised_ it is brighter than leading brands
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been Sony loyal and wanted to replace my Sony hdtv with 4K. OLED was on top of my list but not bright enough and due to burn in effect wanted to go with LED which can produce deep black and more brightness. After debating between this one and Samsung q90 I have made my choice and to be honest took a risk. No regrets, this is one great bright tv, brighter than leading brands. 4K and Dolby vision looks as great as on OLED even better in bright environments.

Best picture for a LED
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture quality - is near Oleds. Blacks are deep. Very little blooming or halo's. Very bright, and has rich colors. User interface is simple, with a easy to use Roku remote. I'm not a fan of Dolby vision, but this TV can pull it off better than other flagship competitors. If you use a APPLE TV player, set the picture to 4k 60hz SDR. It looks amazing. Construction is solid, and the factory includes hand pads so you don't pinch the led while trying to hang it on a wall. Audio - It supports 5.1 dolby atmos via arc with a sound bar. This TV would be perfect if it had hdmi 2.1 /e-arc, which makes a huge difference in quality if your soundbar is a 7.1. No Lip-sync issues. Remote - it's a roku, so it won't sync with the apple 4k tv remote if you use that player. But it's easy to use. Interface - It's fast, not laggy.

Amazing TV!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was was first TCL TV, and I have to say, I have been blown away by this model. I replaced a Sony 65X850C, and this was a huge step-up in terms of TV picture quality/clarity and system interface that even my kids can navigate with ease. The ROKU enabled Television interface runs so smooth. There is no delay when switching modes/apps, and the view can be easily changed to adapt to your personal viewing habits. The mini-LED technology paired with the QLED color, Dolby Vision HDR (and of course 4K UHD), and the many contrast zones provide such a clean/crips/clear picture. There is no "halo-effect" when watching sports or action flicks, and gaming looks incredible while playing my PS4 on this TV. This TV is a beast. It's heavy, but that means it was built to last and doesn't feel cheap. I would highly recommend this model to anyone looking to jump in to the premium 75" TV space. Couldn't be happier.

When on sale you can't beat the picture quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been researching for a 75" (that wouldn't break the bank) for our family room for months. I looked at Samsung, LG & Sony of course. But then I read about TCL and the mini-led QLED 8 series and how great the picture was for a non-OLED TV. Unfortunately, BestBuy didn't have it on display and I was a little wary of buying it without being able to see it on display but when I saw it on sale for $1499 I thought it was too good of a deal to pass up. The TV requires 2 people to get out of the box and the picture settings do need some tweaking to get the best picture quality. I was already familiar with the Roku interface but my wife can attest it is the easiest to use Smart TV interface on the market. I've had the TV for 2 weeks now and I can say that the picture quality is outstanding! I can say without a doubt when on sale this TV is a steal and I would recommend giving it a look.

Frustrating Constant Resetting
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this tv in September 2020 and have already had to perform four soft resets. Two times while streaming Netflix and Hulu, the picture quality becomes distorted/discolored. Internet connection is strong. Its very apparent when looking at the faces of the characters, as the color goes in and out. I don’t know if that’s considered flickering or what, but very annoying and definitely a flaw. Both soft resets did eventually fix this issue. Also, on two separate occasions while watching, the tv makes a loud popping noise from the speakers, and the sound goes very quiet. I never turn the volume past 28 as the speakers are quite loud. No sound bar so it’s definitely the tv speakers. Luckily, again...both resets “fixed” the issue. The picture quality can be very nice when the tv actually works to its advertised potential. Can’t help but wonder when I’ll need to reset it again. It’s frustrating that TCL’s higher end 8-series needs this many tweaks here and there. If you’re OK with constantly un-mounting this tv to unplug for the reset, then it’s a good deal.

Good looking TV, but can't enjoy it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start, this isn't my first TCL. I think TCL, as a brand, offers a quality product for a very affordable price. This TV has amazing picture quality and the Roku OS that I love, but I can't use it, and below I'll explain why. This is a long story, and it's pretty unbelievable (I would question it's veracity if it didn't happen to me), but I think this is a fair warning and that the story needs to be told. I ordered the first TV set and received it as planned. While the picture looked great in bright, light scenes, there was obvious blooming and clouding issues in dark scenes. I contacted TCL and their customer support was amazing in getting me a replacement set asap. Fast forward a week and a half to when the new set shows up. The technician arrives, unboxes the set, and helps me get it hung up. Everything up to that point went really smoothly. After the technician left, though, a horrible odor, which I thought might have been coming from unboxing the TV, started to waft from the set. Upon smelling the set, I could tell that it had been soaked in some something that smelled overpoweringly of peppers, and it wasn't just the packing materials. The plastic backing, the screen, the box holding the cords and the controller, all smelled rancid. The smell was so strong that I couldn't stay in the basement (where the TV is located) to set it up. Thinking that maybe the smell would dissipate the next day, I left the basement windows open for a few hours and then waited a full 24 hours before going in the basement again. Upon entering the basement, the smell hit me smack in the face. Just being down there for a few minutes made my eyes burn, my nose run, my chest hurt, etc. I quickly called a few neighbors to help me move the TV into my car so that it would be completely out of the house. That was three days ago, and the smell in my basement still lingers. As I type this, my throat is red and burns, and I'm going to have to have someone come out to my home to professionally clean our basement, diagnose, and eliminate the smell. The cost to own this TV just went up exponentially due to the cost I'm going to be paying for cleaning and for the smell to be diagnosed, and I still can't enjoy the set because the replacement isn't here and I don't dare venture into the basement. I'm sure my car will have to be professionally cleaned, too, since the TV has been sitting in there the last few days (and will sit there until the replacement shows up and the old set gets hauled away) but I'm more worried about taking care of the smell in my home first. I did contact TCL and they agreed to send out another TV, so I can't complain about their customer service, but the source of the smell concerns me and makes me want to caution you to be careful when you receive your TV. The customer service rep said the replacement TV they sent came straight from the factory, so maybe something happened in transit to cause the smell, but irregardless of where it came from, we now have a TV that we can't use and a basement that is a health hazard. I know it's a unique experience, but I just wanted to give everyone a fair warning about my experience so that you can be vigilant and look out for something similar should you order this TV. If anything changes, I'll update this review to reflect my thoughts, but the headaches (both literal and figurative) this whole process has caused me and my family leads me to wholeheartedly recommend maybe considering an alternative brand.

Freezes and shuts itself off and restarts
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The size and picture quality are definitely enjoyable, but the Roku portion (we believe it's Roku and not the TV directly) of this tv stinks. If we are on Youtube, Amazon, Netflix, etc it will randomly start flashing and flickering the picture. Then a lot of times it freezes, and decides to restart itself. Unfortunately we're now used to it as it happens constantly. We've been on the community forums and we are not alone and the only answer seems to be is to not use the smart tv portion of the tv!

Do Not Buy Unless You Like Resetting Daily
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV in October 2020, figured I would pay up for the Series 8 technology for improved quality however this TV does not deliver. Within 2 months the volume refused to work unless the tv was completely reset. I tried to give it a chance, assuming this was a software issue but since that time the problems have become a daily occurrence, with a variety of volume issues, some tomes no volume, sometimes extremely low volume, sometime very distorted volume and of course sometimes all of the above in one day causing me to pull the power cord and restarting to tv to correct the error. It’s really hard to tell for sure with all the zoom feeds on tv whether or not the tv has a great picture, it looks the same as my low range Samsung and the lesser priced TCL. I would steer clear of this model. While I am in the return time BestBuy, good luck trying to reach someone that could help you. After three attempts the further eat I got was speaking to a customer care representative that put be on hold for 20 minutes only to then cut me off. Do not know what is more frustrating, this TCL tv or BeayBuy.

Is this is suppoed to be premium tv?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With an msrp of $3,000 it should be but sadly is not. Top issues: 1. Price. BB sells for $1,499 then $1,799 then $2,199. What is the tv really worth? 2. Black crushing. 3. Banding. 4. Cheap remote. Roku is like a fisher price children's toy.

Poor Manufacturing Quality and Customer Service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased a 75 inch TCL television in Feb of 2019. In July of 2021 we experienced a hardware failure of the screen, and after working through trouble shooting the issue with TCL technical services, we can confirm the television is a 75 inch paper weight. When asked to resolve this obvious manufacturing quality control failure, we were told the television is past the one year manufacturer’s warranty, and that we should contact a television repair service at our own expense. Do not buy TCL, they are new to this market place and lack quality in manufacturing and quality in customer service. Your money is better spent on a well known manufacturer with a reputation for quality products. Even if you spend more money, you will be better off with a well known television manufacturer, like Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, LG, or VISIO.

Severe Quality Control Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Severe backlight "burn-in" issues right out of the box causing darkened "lines" across the screen that is extremely noticeable and distracting while viewing any and all content. Also on every brightness setting their is a very loud "whine" coming from the TV whenever the picture goes somewhat bright. I was REALLY hoping for some good QC from TCL for their top of the line model but unfortunately that is not the case.
