    Incredible TV—TCL Broke It with a Software Update

    I absolutely loved this TV for the first 6 months. The picture was stunning—deep blacks, vibrant highlights, and a level of contrast that made it feel like I was watching an OLED. I was genuinely impressed and often bragged about the value I got for the price. Then TCL pushed a software update, and everything changed—instantly. Now the TV is laggy, the eARC connection to my soundbar is either completely broken or delayed by several seconds, and the picture quality is washed out. I can no longer achieve the deep blacks and bright highlights that made this TV so special. The software feels sluggish, and even simple actions like adjusting volume result in delayed, queued responses that make the whole system feel broken. I’ve tried every setting combination I can think of, but nothing brings back the image quality I had before. It’s like a completely different (and much worse) TV now. This isn’t my first bad experience with TCL, but it might be my last. If you’re considering this model, be warned: TCL can and will push updates that fundamentally degrade your experience—and there’s no easy way to go back.

    Horrible TV

    TV went out in 20 days. Of course best buy only has a 14 day return policy. TCL sent someone out with two parts and they did not work. Still waiting on them to send repair person out again with a mother board. About 30 days since he was here. I will never buy TCL again.

    Didn’t even work out of the box.

    New TV arrived… after two calls into Best Buy and one call into TCL. They determined that it was defective. Between unboxing it waiting around for the delivery people spending time on the phone and re-boxing it. I already have like five hours into this TV now I gotta wait around for them to come pick it up. I wouldn’t waste my time with this TV if I were you, it’s hit or miss you will get one that works. And TCL is a giant pain call, they couldn’t be more rude. Just stay away it’s not worth trying to save money and get a TCL.

    Received this TV and hung it up on the wall. It has snow lines going across the picture and sounds like it has a broken speaker because it vibrates. Code Best Buy customer service and they were really good. Supposed to be getting a new TV next week.

    After reading all kinds of reviews online, I was convinced to go with this instead of the U8M. Holy crap, this seemed like a great TV, too. Super bright, overall good picture quality. However, it TEARS and has very annoying artifacting around text! Especially moving text or other moving content. It is HORRENDOUS. I am upset that I have to haul this massive TV back to Best Buy. It is absolutely getting returned. Garbage. Stay away, it will drive you insane! There is no way to disable this AI nonsense that makes the picture look horrid!

    Worst tv brand

    I bought this tv a year ago, a month after revieving it my screen stopped working. Got a replacement pretty quick but still wasnt happy befause the sound is awful, the colors dont look realistic and after another year the same thing just happened. No oicture just sound.The TCL customer service is the worst, absolutely zero help. Just kept telling me that i wasnt covered by warranty anymore. Youre better off watching on your phone.
