Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the outstanding picture quality and brightness of the 75" Class QM8K Series 4K UHD HDR QD-Mini LED Smart TV. Gamers appreciate the 144Hz refresh rate and solid gaming performance, while others enjoy the enhanced black levels and Dolby Atmos support. Connectivity is convenient with the side-mounted input section, but some users feel the bass quality could be improved to reach subwoofer levels.

Excellent picture and sound quality. I just put it in intelligent picture mode and everything looks beautiful, no calibration needed. The TV itself, looks very elegant with minimal bezel around screen and attractive stand almost looks like screen is floating above tv cabinet. The bass from the woofers is perfect for my needs, I don't need a soundbar/sub that's going to disturb my neighbors. Plus I just like the clean, minimalistic look in my living room. Best TV I've ever owned by far, I love it!

This was a great purchase I was lucky to make during the Labor Day sale season. I'm not much of a TV guru, but I've been really happy with the picture quality - no issues with glare during the afternoon, and the picture stays crisp. The smart functionality is a nice touch, and I've found myself utilizing the smart apps more often than using my Apple TV because of the ease of use. The sound quality is great with the Bang and Olufsen stereo, providing great sound. The remote is intuitive and not overcrowded - and I appreciate the backlight capability. The only complaint I have is that the TV OS does experience slight lag here and there - usually when switching between apps. Nothing terrible, but definitely noticeable. I'm happy with the purchase and plan on keeping this set a long time.

Exceeded my expectations. So much brighter than my current/older TCL set. So glad I did not upsell myself to far more expensive OLED.

My first TCL TV is the TV this one has replaced. I was really impressed by that screen, being on the lower end of the range at the time (2021) model, visually it was stunning and I could tune it to my liking. The interface was a little slow, and I don't normally use GoogleTV, but it worked well with my sound system and external sources. This QM8K blows my old TCL TV out of the water. The color depth, contrast, dimming zone capability are so good! Even on content that is old, like old sitcoms being streamed, are bumped up in quality. The high dynamic range aspect of the QM8K is one of the headlining features, and this is by far the brightest panel I've owned. And while I don't tend to like an overall bright panel, I tone down brightness overall, this panel having such a high brightness makes the difference between shadow and light in a scene just pop. It's so clean and sharp, which for me is great because I love sci fi and fantasy and that content tends to deal with a lot of shadow and light. The panel is minimalistic, having an almost invisible border, a single base foot (my old TCL had two feet on the ends, and I was skeptical about a single center foot, but it works really well), and a similar configuration of ports on the back, if you are looking at the TV the power cable comes out on the left, the source ports and USB ports are on the right. One aspect of this TV that I don't really use because I have an external sound system is the built in speakers. I noticed as I was installing the base that there are two diaphragms on the back that would be for producing bass, which intrigued me. So I did try the sound system built in before I plugged in mine. I would say if I didn't have my speakers, this would pass pretty well. It's not very full on the bass end, which for a TV that's thin is expected, but it's overall a pretty full sound. It doesn't feel like tiny speakers in the bottom of the panel, it does fill the room, just more on the highs side. The interface I am so thankful to say is so much snappier than the 2021 model I had. I have had no delays and it works the same, so I'm very familiar. The range of customization in the settings for picture and sound is very broad. You can select pre-configured things like Dolby Vision, Filmmaker Mode, and HDR10, or you can do a full calibration of the TV. I do a cross between a couple. I tend to pick Filmmaker Mode and then tweak the motion settings a little to get a smoothness that I prefer. The TV will default to the setting that the source will give it though in Filmmaker Mode, so I do see variations, but that's cool. It's neat being able to see what the creator intended. I love watching movies on this thing. Gaming is so good too, with a high refresh rate and the HDR capabilities, I have plugged in my PC and can run games at 120fps that completely smooth and so lifelike on this TV. I haven't really checked out sports, but I can imagine football season is going to be spectacular. This panel is at the top of TCL's line for this year. I was so impressed with my lower tier TCL from 2021 that I didn't hesitate getting this one, and I'm so happy. With the sales this TV sees also, the value of it is so high. I wouldn't hesitate getting this TV or recommending it to anyone.

This TV is average. The setting are very confusing and calibration is difficult. I connected my Apple Tv streaming device to it and I had difficulty using it with the TV. The screen would flicker on and off. It wasn't the Apple device cause it was connected to my Sony tv before I got the TCL and there was no issues. Other than these things it's ok.

Once considered a budget brand, I never expected to own a TCL television but they have truly upped their game. It’s truly refreshing to see TCL compete neck to neck with the major brands in terms of quality, features, and specs. The 75" Class QM8K Series 4K UHD HDR QD-Mini LED Smart TV with Google TV is by far the nicest TV I’ve owned. My last TV was also a 75 inch so I knew this would fit perfectly where I wanted to mount it. The box is large and will require a second hand to maneuver comfortably and to unbox. In the box you’ll find the TV, TV stand, a bag with instructions and some hardware, the remote and batteries. I was pleased to discover that the 75QM8K was about 20 pounds lighter than my prior set so getting it on the wall was a bit easier and I had it up in less than an hour. The worst part was getting off the protective tape and film from the tv. What a pain. Notable immediately was the very minimal bezel design on the TV. Love it! It looks super sleek and modern with an edge to edge design that TCL calls ZeroBorder. The TV in general has a great build quality. I also very much like the minimal size of the TCL branding on the set. It’s there, but tiny and barely noticeable, unlike other brands whose much larger branding can be an ugly distraction on the front of a TV. I also like the above average remote control with its silver metallic backlit design. Very classy touch TCL. The 75QM8K is a Google TV so setup was of course the typical Google setup. Basically connect to wifi (wifi 6 is supported) and add your Google account. I added mine to my Google Home setup too. This setup is a breeze with its simple step by step process. Along the way there was an update which took most of the time. Once complete you have your typical Google TV smart TV platform with streaming services, Chromecast support, Google Assistant, and smart home control. There is also support for Amazon Alexa. I was impressed by the snappy performance of the Google TV and its apps on the 75QM8K but I prefer using an Apple TV which of course you can use your own box instead too. Also for Apple users, the 75QM8K supports AirPlay 2 and Apple HomeKit. The TV has 4 HDMI inputs including one with eARC. There are 2 HDMi 2.1 and 2 HDMI 2.0. Audio on the set is by Bang & Olufsen with its 2.2.2-channel system with up-firing Dolby Atmos speakers and rear woofers. It sounds quite impressive right out of the box so you really wont be disappointed in the event that you don’t have a soundbar. With a new TV I love to immediately check out a variety of 4K content from streaming to 4K bluray. The 75QM8K supports HDR ULTRA with Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HDR10, & HLG formats so all your HDR content looks amazing. I have to say I was blown away regardless of the content I was viewing. The TV has a CrystGlow WHVA Panel with a fantastic antireflective coating. I thought my prior QLED was great quality but this 75QM8K put it to absolute shame. I also own an OLED TV and again this TCL gave it a run for its money and surpassed it in many ways, particularly brightness. I knew from the specs that this TV would be bright with its 5,000 nits of peak brightness but seeing it was another thing. BRIGHT! Then there is the dark inky blacks absolutely comparable to my OLED. The 75QM8K has 3800 dimming zones, a Halo Control System with 23 bit backlight controller that succeeds in providing halo free blacks. The TV looks fantastic out of the box but it’s nice to calibrate the image to fine tune appearance. I ultimately use the Filmmaker mode with brightness set to the max for most content but I continue to play with settings. You do tend to get accustomed to a TV but that has not happened here. Weeks later and I still catch myself struck by the stunning image quality of the 75QM8K. Highly recommended.

    TCL… a premium brand?!

Bottom Line: I was surprised and delighted by this new TV from TCL. It provides a beautiful picture out of the box, with above average audio performance to the point you don't need a sound bar. It comes with all the smart TV chops at a price point you can't argue with especially at this size. Full Review: I admittedly had only considered TCL as a mid-tier brand, but this 75” 4K mini-LED TV from them knocked my socks off. The TV itself is very attractive which brushed metal touches all around. It is thin, but not too thin that I worry about it’s day-to-day survivability. The bezels around the display are tiny and it really makes the picture shine. The branding – minimal with a tiny glowing TCL logo. Remote is backlit with a typical layout with shortcuts to common apps and it’s weighty with the batteries installed and takes on the brushed metal cues from the TV. It was super simple to setup taking just a few screws to get it ready to go on our console table. It is a two person job, but I was able to get it unboxed with help and ready to power on in about 10 minutes. One thing I noticed when unpacking the TV was the speakers on the backside from B&O which look great, even though you won’t really see them. The picture is incredible and at this price point and size it’s really hard to beat in terms of picture with full-array dimming. The mini-LED technology means this TV is very VERY bright and the contrast is reminiscent of an OLED television, but without the risk of burn-in and reduced life. I noticed very little haloing (when the backlight bleeds around small bright objects) thanks to all the dimming zones and the lens technology they use. I thought the viewing angles were vary good when positioned around the TV in a room. I watched a number of movies as well as played games and felt like the responsiveness was good for shooters and other fast paced titles. For PC gamers it also features AMD FreeSync Premium, which is cool to see on a TV. The sound is top notch too with good bass response and an overall balanced production tuned by Bang and Olufsen. It also supports Dolby Atmos for spatial audio and it does a decent job to bouncing sound around a mid sized room to create an immersive experience. Overall, its quality has kept me from purchasing a sound bar so I call that a win.
