There aren't enough words to explain how good this TV is. Upgraded from a 65" LG 4K LED Full Array TV. Out of the box, the TV has a great picture and sound. Since the TV has a subwoofer, this has to be one of the best sounding flat panels I've heard. However, with a TV like this you are going to want to hook it up to at Surround sound system or really good soundbar. The picture quality is bright and colors are vivid. I had my eye on the Sony Bravia XR X95K, but just couldn't pull the trigger because of the price. Glad I learned that this TV was shipping soon a couple of weeks ago!!! 4K content is phenomenal, Haven't noticed any blooming yet either! Kudos to both Best Buy and TCL's customer service also. They both exceeded my expectations. I had a small issue with my order that Best Buy promised to solve within 24-48 hours. It was solved within 20 minutes!!!! Also, I had to call TCL's customer support to resolve an issue that was a user error that I don't care to admit. However, when I called TCL, I was speaking with a rep and troubleshooting in under 2 minutes!!! Resolved my issue and helped me fine tune a couple of settings. Haven't played any games yet from my PS5 yet, I have to replace a long HDMI cable that I'm awaiting on delivery. Also have a gaming PC connected to this display and it's well - AWESOME. About Google TV - I had a Nvidia Shield on the TV that this one is replacing so I was pleasantly surprised to find that the GoogleTV interface was the same as what I was accustomed to with the Shield. Didn't have to get used to a new interface which I loved!!! Wish I could replace another TV that I own with one just like it...maybe someday!!! Highly Recommend...I took a risk only being able to watch influencer videos about this TV with no regular customer reviews and am glad I pulled the trigger!

I've had this tv for a few months now, and honestly I don't have a single bad thing to say about it! But here's some of the things I love about this tv. First of all the price for the performance has always been great from TCL and this tv isn't any different! Just incredible value. The brightness of this tv is just beautiful it will make highlights pop and look amazing, and you will definitely have no trouble viewing anything on this tv during day time. The black levels on this tv is just mind blowing ! For a non oled tv is just crazy what this tv can do. I use this tv during night time mostly and at a pitch dark room the blacks are literally oled like, you won't have any issues in that area. Now considering the black levels and the brightness put together it creates an amazing contrast that is just beautiful to watch movies on or play video games or whatever you use this tv for it will look amazing. And of course not to forget gaming, I game alot on this tv and have had zero issues the tv looks great and the game mode is easy to turn on and off and you can leave it to turn on automatically, gaming is smooth and the tv also has a game bar with a few extra features. And lastly considering that this tv comes with Google system instead of roku that makes it alot easier to customize things and to adjust settings and to calibrate the tv. Overall the value is just unmatched in my opinion and I have nothing bad to say about this tv, I've been happy with it and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

Even though you are moving up into projector-money territory, this has been a great TV! I originally bought a 75 inch Hisense TV, and it didn't even last the 30 day return policy (It turned off on Day 30, and wouldn't turn back on. I was curious about TCL, and I do have a 55 inch TCL in my bedroom, so I thought "Why not take a shot on the Big-Screen TCL?" I was kind of gun-shy, having to return another TV that had little to no track record against the big names like Sony and Samsung, but so far, it is doing very well! The Mini-LED technology is phenomenal! The light control is very very good, and when there is a black screen between scenes, it is pitch black in the room. After some picture tweaking, the picture quality is very good, and up-scanning of HD into 4K is very well done. And this thing is a light cannon! Contrast is no problem in HDR encoded shows and movies. Although I do not watch the TV in a light flooded room, I feel that the TV would be just fine even if you turned on all the lights in the house! The Google TV interface works very well, and works with all of the other TVs in the house with Google TV. I do not use the speakers built into the TV, because I use a soundbar, but I feel like the speakers that are built in would be above average in quality compared to other TVs. Over all, no regrets!

A lot of problems: dead pixels, vertical and horizontal lines, shadows, ghosting, clouding, constant rebooting. The apps closed any moment.

Very happy with this purchase. Beautiful picture and sound! Blacks are crisp. True high def for programming available to be streamed in high def. TV is very bright and not impacted by daylight streaming through blinds. Great value for the money. Was looking at other tvs with same functionality that were more than double what we paid for this tv. Highly recommend!

I want to start off by saying this is an excellent tv in terms of overall PQ compared to oled TV's and a Samsung qn90a I owned in the past. QM8 is one of the brightest out there right now which is one of the reasons i wanted to get it, and the 144hz for gaming on PC which is about 50% or more of my use on it, other is to watch movies from Xbox series X and shows from Apple TV. Why Two different devices for watching content? Well, currently HDR on the QM8 is not working properly so it doesnt look right and not that bright to me, a Rtings review goes more in depth on this issue. So because of that I cant use HDR since its way too dim and washed out looking so I just use SDR on the Xbox for movies. As for TV show streaming content, Apple TV does best here since the upscaling on the QM8 isnt one of its strong points to say the least. As for the PC side of things, I currently use it with a 13900k/4090 system and have to set a custom resolution I found online just to get 144hz to work. It works however there can be frequent blacking out of the picture for a split second while gaming and theres a lot of overshoot/fuzziness to the image in darker areas when in motion. Most of this stuff was mentioned in the Rtings review and they even mentioned that TCL was aware of all the issues. The big problem here is this was months ago with no word, at least to my knowledge, of when any of these things will get fixed. Theres been no update to the QM8 since June/July of this year at the time of this review, 11-06-23. I feel like TCL owes its customers an explanation about why theres been no updates and when one is coming to fix the problems. I kept wondering since I purchased the TV back in early July why it was on sale and has continued to be discounted heavily ever since, im guessing its because theres zero software support for it currently. Its running an outdated version of Google OS so maybe that has something to do with the lack of updates. Just something to consider before buying this TV.

The picture is unmatched in a QLED TV. It is so bright I run it at about 30% brightness which I have never done for any other TV. Most importantly it handles HDR and Dolby Vision extremely well. I have always used Dolby Vision bright on other TV's but I let IQ handle it on the QM8, HDR automatically goes to Vivid and it is just fine. Motion handling is excellent. It really seems pretty great right out of the box. The negatives are pretty terrible HDMI switching on the E-ARC input that really didn't improve on other inputs. It is slow to see the signal and sometimes sound doesn't work from my receiver or the HDMI 3 input. The other negative is a very reflective screen that sees every window during the day. That was a deal killer for me with OLEDs because they don't get bright enough to overcome the reflection. The QM8 IS bright enough but all black scenes are still an issue. For me, I can live with it given the other pluses. Dark blacks, bright colors and a backlit remote!!

I had to adjust some of the TV picture settings out of the box, but now any 4K content looks amazing. I have this tv in a very bright room with lots of natural light and have no issues seeing the screen. The only thing I notice with this TV is it isnt the best at upscaling content that is not in 4k. In addition, the smart google TV does not have the Specturm App available. I bought a ROKU in order to get the spectrum app, which can produce 1080p cable television instead of 1080i. This makes sports look a little better. If you only want a tv to watch sports on cable television, maybe look elsewhere for a TV that handles 1080i or 1080p content the best. If you use the TV for many purposes (gaming, movies, streaming 4k) than this tv is a great option. I am happy with my purchase.

The Picture quality is excellent. The anti-reflection is good, but not the best. Room lights reflect, but not windows. This could be because this is my first 85" TV and a bigger screen to catch reflections. The new updated Google TV interface is pretty good. the live channels integration is great. gives one location to find the different streaming live channels and those from my antenna and allows setting favorite list between all of them. Google TV, Tubi, Plex, Pluto, Antenna are listed together for me. A Note: if you have add blocking on your router, it can block Google TV live channels. The TV only has an ATSC 1.0 tuner and not ATSC 3.0 (handles 4k Antenna signal). I have digitized my laserdiscs and they play much cleaner on this tv than my older tv, using Plex. The Panel is a 10 bit panel. creating h.265 HD10 10bit mp4 files play very clear on this TV. Just a note on the HDMI inputs: they are not all the same. all support 4k, but only 1 supports 120hz and only 1 supports 144hz. the other 2 are 60hz ports. The Wall mounting is 600x600. This in my opinion was a bad choice. Very hard to find a wall mount for this TV. I ended up not wall mounting. This is the only brand that I found that supports all of the current video formats. Dolby Vision, and HD10 Pro. Most brands either do not handle Dolby vision, or if they do, and only go up to HD10. (Not HD10+ or HD10 pro) Streaming services jump back and forth on the encoding on the streaming videos. Summary this is a very good TV. If you want to wall mount, you probably want to go with the 75". Not sure why no ATSC 3.0 tuner today, but no 4k broadcast in my area. I got on sale for $2199, going to Sony or Samsung for comparable TV would just about double the price.

If youre in the market for the most value to price proposition, do not look any farther than this tv! This tv gets bright in a good way as it enhances the already vibrant color this tv offers. This tv was specifically bought for gaming and its one of the best non oleds ive ever seen. Gaming on this tv has been a great experience sometimes i dont want to push the off button. If you want fun exciting gaming to vibrant realistic looking movies, consider this tv!

I am so happy wurh rhis purchase. The picture quality is superb and it is great for gaming as well. The built in subwoofer gives the tv a nice sound without a soundbar, even though i bought a SONOS soundbar anyway. Make sure you get a wall mount that fits between the screws on the back as the one that best buy sold was too short.

The cons outweigh the pros for me. I REALLY wanted to love this TV. I'm sad to write this review, but hopefully TCL fixes the cons and then we have a real contender for 85-inch size. Big and nice picture, not quite a OLED qualitu\y, but brighter and not with the Samsung operating system I do not care for. Notem the remote is nice and lights up but does not have a separate input switch change? Not sure why? Also note the back vessa connections require a mount with mounting arms that are 60 cm in length. The salesman did not give correct information on that issue.

Couldn’t be happier!! A phenomenal TV especially if you’re an avid gamer looking for all the bells and whistles with HGIG capabilities which is a must for gaming. The reason their prices are so competitive, is because they do everything in-house and cut out the middlemen. Design, manufacturing, marketing etc. Rich, deep, inky blacks - near OLED blacks but with greater contrast because of its higher brightness capabilities. It also has 2300 local dimming zones! If this TV lasts long, because I take good care of it - I’ll buy TCL again.

This TV in 85"is what makes a home theater feel like you are at the movie theater. Just an epic size! The brightest TV there is, plus Dolby Vision and HDR+ are simply amazing! I think I still prefer the Roku OS over the Google TV OS but this TV is brilliant and TCL has been releasing software updates to fix minor issues ready. The company wide customer support has been great so far! Definitely get this TV!

1st of all the size is awesome, the picture looks great I have a ps5 and gaming is smooth and colorful, watching movies and streaming is just like in a movie theater, I bought this for the Super Bowl me and my friends loved it, very happy I bought this tv Best Buy had the best price too

I was thinking on buying the lower end 98" TCL at first--but it was just too problematic (I couldn't find a "guaranteed" wall mount for the stated VESA--and the "legs" were too far apart to put the TV on any affordable stand) So I opted for higher quality screen that was still 10" bigger than the one it replaced. (and spent less!) Picture IS awesome!! the Google TV access is WAY easier and faster to use than the Vizio it replaced. My only "down sides" (and not enough to take away a star)--Not enough picture controls--(that I could find) I would like to be able to adjust the contrast and color saturation-- I have mine connected to an external sound system-so I turn the TV speakers off and can't address their quality. I do NOT have cable and only stream a few things SO most of my viewing is broadcast over the air--and the tuner in this is working better than the one in the 4-year-old Vizio was.
