TCL TV and Sound Bar

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Returned, bought a new 40" TCL for my grandsons in May of 2025, remote stopped working before Christmas. Tried to fix with no luck, finally was able to talk to someone in IT at TCL, After going thru all of the steps that I had done they decided the receiver on the TV was bad, Scheduled a repair thru ITI, (what a communication joke) said they had canceled the work order. Called back and TCL set up another work order, waiting. Bought the sound bar for Christmas, didn't want to chance it being like the TV, returned it. The grandsons didn't have a TV for Christmas, bought them a Visio TV and sound bar. Do not recommend

Ok, but not great.

The tcl sounds a bit muddy in the mid and upper bass frequencies where the vizio sounds much tighter and controlled. Neither compare to a real subwoofer but you get the idea. I do like that tcl gives you a remote and doesnt rely strictly on an app like new vizio soundbars. I would recommend quality over features and get the vizio.

Not Worth the Money – Weak Audio and Unstable Conn

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.issues I bought this TCL soundbar expecting good audio quality because of the Dolby Atmos feature and the wireless subwoofer, but unfortunately the experience has been very disappointing. The sound quality is not good at all — it feels flat, weak, and voices are not clear. On top of that, the connections constantly fail. The soundbar disconnects for no reason, and I have to reset it multiple times. The worst part is that it doesn’t work properly with YouTube live streams. The audio cuts out, loses sync, and sometimes there is no sound at all. I tried different settings, cables, and configurations, but the issue continues. At this point, I really don’t feel it’s worth the money. I do not recommend this product if you’re looking for stable connections, clear sound, and proper compatibility with live content.

Poor Sound Quality and User Experience

The set up was fairly simple and while the sound quality is better than the tv itself, this soundbar lacks depth and clarity. The main dialogs completely fades away when wathing certain movies. The soundbar automatically turns off after being on standby for 15 minutes and there’s no settings to turn that off. I think it would be a better experience if the sounbar stays in sync with the TV. Overall this is not a terrible soundbar. However, if you value clarity and simplicity, invest your money in something else. I eventually returned this soundbar and replaced it with the Samsung HW-B650 soundbar. I purchased the B650 while it was on sale for about the same price as this soundbar and I’m very please with the sound quality and the overall user experience.
