Overall this is a great soundbar and easy to install/ set up. My only gripe is the eARC HDMI connection was extremely unstable, it would cut out for 5-10 seconds of audio every 10 minutes or so. I fixed this by connecting it to my TCL tv via optical. This isn’t ideal though, as optical connection apparently renders the CEC function unusable, meaning I can’t use my Roku remote to control the volume when it’s connected via optical, I can only use the TCL soundbar remote. That’s why I can’t give it 5 stars. I’m not sure if the audio issues with eARC is a TCL issue or an eARC issue— I’ve seen a lot online about eARC being unstable by design. But regardless, the result is the same for the consumer so it’s sort of a distinction without difference.

Excellent sound quality great design and has amazing bass

I love watching movies and the sound quality of the soundbar is amazing. Not the best when I’m the only one watching though. Even on low settings it’s pretty loud and I often get asked if I could turn it down by my wife that’s on the other side of the house. The app is a big let down. Looses connectivity to the sound bar and says it can’t be found.

I bought this to play with ny legends ultimate arcade machine. Its suoer cheap but the sound is exactly what i wanted. The small sub and bar fit perfectly in and on top of the cab. This could easily be used as a main soundbar for the living room too. Couldnt be more pleased for the price and quality.

There are good Sound Bars a, Then there's Great Sound Bars.... I Classify this as Superb and Great Quality Sound and Amongst the Best in It's Class for the Very Reasonable Price Point that this Sound Bar Set has been Priced ...with Multiple Smart TV's in my Living Room, Study and Lounge areas in my home... I'll be getting additional sets to the already two sets I currently have.

Good sound bar for the price. Sound quality is pretty okay. Gets loud enough for a large area and the Bluetooth conductivity is nice for playing music from your phone.

I recently got the TCL S55H Soundbar with wireless subwoofer, and I’m really impressed. The sound quality is clear and crisp, with deep bass that adds a lot of richness to music and movies. I have this soundbar set up with a 42inch TCL 5 series in an 80sf room and it fills the room. Understanding it is a 2.1 channel budget soundbar with a 5.5” subwoofer I dont expect wall shaking bass and also expect channels to be shared among high, low and midrange. I do get the cinematic experience that I want for a great price and it isn’t so loud that it bothers my wife. Well it actually gets really loud and so I keep it on night mode. I’m not giving it 5 stars because the dialogue isn’t the clearest sometimes (dependng on the movie) because there’s no dedicated channel. BUT again, set your expectations appropriately. I’d buy this again. Oh and the virtual surround and AI sonic work great in my small room. I also enjoy listening ambient, jazz and lofi music on it.

I don’t understand the negative reviews of this sound bar. Can’t believe the value at this price point. The sound is incredible, the connectivity is exceptional. This pairs especially well with a TCL tv. Buy this sound bar!

I recently purchased this soundbar to complement my TCL Q7. Setting it up was surprisingly simple; it only took me about 6 minutes to connect everything. For $159, having Dolby Atmos, DTS Virtual X, and a wireless subwoofer feels like a steal. While there are better options out there, the value for money is impressive. I look forward to see how the soundbar continues to perform while having these features. However, I did encounter some minor issues. One of them is that it's sometimes hard to gauge how much I've adjusted the different modes because the indicator lights are directly above the soundbar. Occasionally, I had to peek up to check. Nevertheless, this is not a deal breaker for me. What I'm getting out of this soundbar outweighs that minor inconvenience.

This sound bar really makes a difference when using it. Whether you like to binge on movies, watch sports, or even listen to music. I highly recommend the sound bar, it adds depth and bass to it all. There’s is no lag or delayed connection speed to the audio. If there was you’d here about it because it is my biggest pet peeve.

Super easy set up process! My mom uses it in her shop. The sound is amazingly clear with no cracking!

Replaced my 12 year old TV and was disappointed to find out the new one didn't have the 3.5mm jack and couldn't control the sound bar volume over the optical port. My old sound bar didn't have an hdmi port and probably predated eARC. I found an eARC adapter thing with a 3.5mm jack that allowed the TV remote to control the sound bar volume, but it was pretty cludgy and added a hissing to the audio that was unbearable. Saw this TCL sound bar for $99 during the black Friday sales and picked it up after finding out that my new TCL TV should be able to control it with the remote via eARC without the adapter since this sound bar has HDMI. It works like a charm and even shows the volume level percentage on screen which the adapter wouldn't do. It sounds at least as good as my old sound bar and has some nice settings the old one didn't that help dialog stand out better on movies and such. Definitely recommend if you've got a TCL TV with eARC.

Great sound for the price. We use this on our 55” Samsung that’s primarily used for gaming or streaming. It replaced a Sony soundbar/wireless subwoofer and this one sounds much better. Used the app to calibrate the sound and it was easy and effective. Simple set up—use HDMI arc or HDMI earc if possible—it sounds better and the tv remote can control the soundbar power and volume.

Excellent Soundbar with Subwoofer the price. I just purchased this TCL S55H 2.1 channel soundbar with Dolby Atmos yesterday for my home office. Setup was a breeze, I mounted it on the wall below the TV, as soon as I plugged in the power cord for the soundbar and the subwoofer, they both automatically connected to each other and it was working right away. It's a small home office so I did not need an expensive high powered soundbar. The sound from this unit that cost $120 is truly outstanding for what you get. I really don't believing in buying a soundbar without a subwoofer as I like to hear and feel the bass. I did some tests with Music on Youtube and Apple Music directly from the TV and it sounds great. I also did some tests with Dolby Atmos movies such as Blade Runner 2049 and although it doesn't sound as good as the LG S95TR system that I have in my living room, it still sounds great without having up firing sound bar speakers along with no rear speakers. But I won't really be watching movies in my office when I'm working, this TCL unit will primarily be used for listening to music while I work. And for that it is truly great for me and you can beat the price! The bass sounds incredible and it does get very loud. If you are looking for an inexpensive soundbar and sub woofer for a small room such as a bedroom or home office, I highly recommend this unit.
