A Visual Palindrome of Time

I'm a huge Christopher Nolan fan. I love how he plays with time. My favorites from him are the Prestige, Memento and Interstellar. I really wanted to see Tenet in the theater and during this time of COVID-19, I could not --nor would I risk that. With that said, I feel like this film would have benefited from the big screen instead of my 32 inch television. It's a cool film. This film feels the most mainstream (aside from Dunkirk and the Batman Dark Knight Triliogy), yet at the same time it may be the most confusing. I was confused about why everything turned into an action scene --which I won't reveal, but the action feels very 90s to me. I don't mind that though, it's still a fun film. Still, much of the reasons for blowing stuff up and going commando is well explained, but they do explain all the time bending inverted stuff pretty well. Halfway through the film the plot and action movies like a pendulum of time. It's a really cool visual palindrome of a movie. It's worth a watch. I wish there was a bit more to think about though like I have in other Christopher Nolan films, but this is still some cool stuff.
This version comes with the Dvd, Blueray and a Digital Copy. I actually will probably use all three formats. I love having physical media, but it's great having digital copies too especially while traveling sharing with distant family. Having two physical copies is cool if I ever need to lend a copy out. It's nice having all three. I've yet to check out any of the special features.

I bought this disc sight unseen because I did not have a chance to see the movie in the theater because of the pandemic. I was not disappointed. The Blu-ray image was very clear and vibrant. And the sound was amazing. I listened on an old 5.1 DD receiver and it sounded like theater quality with excellent separation and depth of field and spatial perception. The deals with time and confusing orders of time and possible world destruction and secret agencies, and to be honest, I understood about half of the plot at the first viewing, but the movie is compelling none the less and 2.5 hour run time moves at a good pace. I watched movie on my 120 inch projector screen so I kind of got a big screen feel while viewing. I can imagine what this movie looked like in theater. The movie looked impressive on my screen. This is a good movie worthy of repeat viewing

Big fan of Christopher Nolan and I was really looking forward to watching the movie on Blu-ray, given it was not an easy option to see it in the movie theater this past fall. My first reaction after watching it was, "What did I just watch? What exactly was going on?" It's complicated and confusing, but I think the subject matter makes it so, and there's more to understand upon repeated viewing(s). Nolan is not spoon-feeding the story to the viewer. Beautifully shot and a very interesting premise. Worth watching and having a copy because you'll need to watch it a few times for sure.

Pet peeve with the dumb gun scene

With time travel movies, I guess we should expect to be a little confused. But this was a little too much. I wonder if maybe it's just me. That's I'm dumb. They must have put the time into it, and I just don't get it. But then I remember [SPOILER ALERT] the scene where someone is really, really threatening to blow off someone's head with a semi-auto pistol and THEN, they later rack the slide for emphasis. Not too much thought went into that scene. The movie is closer to 3 1/2 stars but I round up to 4 because it is entertaining.

This is Christopher Nolan's answer for the James Bond genre. It has Nolan's signature puzzle elements and strangeness, along with some cool action set pieces, and plenty of intrigue. It demands two viewings, once to just go along for the ride and then a second viewing to try to understand the puzzling elements. This is a memorable movie that isn't easy to fully grasp but I don't think you need to fully grasp every puzzle element for it to be entertaining. So if you enjoy movies that challenge you a bit, along with spy thriller stuff, this is a must see movie.

Another Great Chris Nolan Movie

I've watched this movie on cable TV other day ago, and I've got to say Chris Nolan managed to make another great movie. If you're not familiar with Chris Nolan's movies, you should definitely check out the Dark Knight Trilogy. Without spoiling too much about Tenet, you don't get much info about the plot in the beginning aside from the fact that the protagonist himself is going be on some wild mission to save the entire world from a certain future annihilation by going into the past literally. Don't try to think too hard when you watch this movie. I would say the plot is somewhat straight forward, but complex in a way that have more questions than answers you want.

My sister was raving about this movie so since we both are movie fanatics I purchesd it. confusing and very slow just my opinion. I 've seen Denzel Washington son in much better movies. He may want to select his movies carefully if he want's to be the next Wasington to carry the torch.

Much has been written about this film, some good, some bad, and some by very confused viewers, lol. If you're a fan of director Christopher Nolan, then you'll want to see this. If you're new to his work, this is as good a place as any to start. The special effects, as you'd expect, are stunning. Some complain about the audio in some scenes (even in the theater), but if you have trouble, Hey! There's Subtitles! I'd advise not getting up often, pausing, or letting anything get in the way of viewing this uninterrupted. There shouldn't be any confusion when you get to the end. If so: re-watch it.

Tenet is another film brought to life through practical stunts and a story that requires you to perform mental gymnastics with the characters. Despite this, the film can be enjoyed with what’s presented on the surface, as well as with deeper suggestions the viewers can choose to tie together. The film is extremely impressive from a technical standpoint, as the stunts were done in real time, and effects are just as polished. The Best Buy packaged movie is up to quality standards physically, and for those who loved this movie or Nolan’s other work should plan on picking up this version or the Steelbook edition.

Good movie and Blu-ray. Yes, the dialogue is hard to decipher and you'll probably need the subtitles without a great sound system but the music is great and distinctive. A very clever movie and innovative plot. Lots of rewatchability because it can be confusing to follow. A lot going on. Only thing missing is more of a sci-fi plot to put it over the edge. Seems like they could have added something more, but still very good along the lines of Inception.

If you enjoy spy thrillers, this is for you! I am a huge fan of Nolan's work, and his original ideas that are transformed into blockbuster hits that make the viewer think hard about what they watched. This is no exception! This movie for me ranks up high with Inception and Interstellar on the Nolan list!
Only gripe, Nolan struggles with a good balance of sound editing so, as is the case in many of his films, the score regularly overwhelms the dialogue. In this case especially, the dialogue is important. So there is a bit of an issue there. Otherwise, amazing film!
