Interesting TV series that does follow the Terminator plot

my opinion, there are only a few truly great television series in the sci-fi/horror genre, especially today. They just don't seem to catch the mainstream viewers' eyes and end up canceled. This show being canceled felt like a Terminator T-800 had ripped my heart out of my chest. It's really, really, really great. If you're a fan of the Terminator movies, especially 1&2, you'll love this. Lena Headey is extremely effective as Sarah Connor, but she brings more emotion to the role than Linda Hamilton did. She's smarter, less desperate, more caring of her son John. Thomas Dekker is fantastic as John Connor, as is Summer Glau as Cameron, and the biggest surprise is Brian Austin Green as Derek Reese, brother of John's father, Kyle Reese. The plot twists are compelling and leave you on the edge of your seat constantly. Richard T. Jones' performance as Richard Ellison takes what seemed like a bland character to great heights, and you found yourself rooting as much for him as you were for the Connors. Dean Winters' Charley Dixon character is heartbreaking and the role of Jesse Flores, played by Stephanie Jacobsen, is hot. The special effects for a TV series are surprisingly good, but what makes this series is the thrilling suspense of stopping the terrifying idea of "Terminators" and "Skynet", the raw human emotion that's perfectly played by the actors, and the fact that the show doesn't treat viewers like idiots. It's smart, emotional, human sci-fi - right where the genre always does best. The music is spot on and really adds to the show, much like the music of Friday Night Lights accentuates that show. The cinematography is pretty good for a television show as well. If you're a fan of the Terminator movies, again, buy Season 1 and Season 2. If you're not, I still recommend you give this a try, because you don't have to be a fan of the films to like this either - there's enough real-life, grown-up drama to hook most anyone. In closing, it's one of the most enjoyable shows I've EVER watched on television. I'm really sad that it's over, but glad that I'll be able to watch it over and over again. And I will." There was a definite upswing in the writing quality toward the end. The suspense and the story arc keep you wanting to watch one more episode. Unfortunately this is the final season, and talks of renewing the series fell apart with the uninspired release of the Movie Terminator: Salvation. This final season is worth the watch, the first few episodes jumble too many plot lines, but as the season develops you'll witness some great sci-fi.

I really liked the pace and plot of this series. It troubles me to know there will be no more. Quite entertaining and once I started to watch it I had a hard time turning it off, I should have called in a personal day. It left a lot hanging and I hope James Cameron gives it another shot.

More complicated and John Connor was 16 this season so more to work with. S1 last show was the best in that season. Hard to tell in this season which are my favorite episodes. Great season for the show. Too bad they cancelled it after S3. Note: S1 means "Season" and the year.

After taking everything the big screen had to offer, Terminator took on TV. A bad pun but Terminator is back, for a second season. With Summer Glau as the a terminator, why not. Second season is not quite as good as the first season but still a solid show. Season one and two have been regularly on sale at Best Buy for a great price offering a very good bargain buy.

if i could buy tv shows like this on dvd before they could come out . that would be the only way i would watch them. keep it up. thanks

Great second season. Lots of interesting characters. Shirley Manson is a standout as is Stephanie Jacobsen. Outstanding SFX and intriguing scripts. Just a shame this series was not renewed.

Best show around. I wish there had been a season 3 but wow just wow

I have seen many of Different types of movies with Arnold Shawartznager and have seen previews of terminator 2 I happen to like the action movies I have most of his movies I even have terminator 1
