I bought this movie based on the trailers I saw. They portrayed an entertaining adventure of aliens coming to earth. After watching the movie (in which I fast forwarded in places - never a good sign for the movie) I was disappointed. Good science fiction at least answers most of the story questions that are obvious even though some questions about the story may not be fully answered. Bad science fiction doesn't even try hard to do that. Which to me is insulting the viewer, so I classify this movie as bad science fiction. They did not answer many of the obvious questions I had. Without giving away any spoilers, the story has a huge spaceship hovering over the earth which itself demonstrates very evolved technology and power. The expectation is that this power and technology will be a key element in the story. This should also be a factor in the fear humans have of the aliens and cause them to behave accordingly. The movie does not seem to know how to utilize this properly and the result is an unexciting and below average movie from what you would expect. Maybe it was the budget they had that limited things or just poor writing. Ultimately, I would not recommend paying to see this - if you can watch it for free, then it's a movie to watch if you have nothing else to do on a weekend.

By the movie trailer this looked like a fairly good movie. While it sort of kept my interest throughout, it was very poorly written and extremely predictable. They were going for a Divergent style movie to kickstart a new series, however I never would want to watch this again and hopefully there won't be any more of them. Worth a watch if you have a free RedBox rental or when it goes on NetFlix, but otherwise it was just a confusing mess which ended up being really limited in events and ended just as i thought it would. Acting was decent and special effects were fairly well done, but over-all I give it a solid pass.

This movie was ok at best. Acting was alright, storyline seems good, but just doesn't have an it factor.

Four waves of increasingly deadly alien attacks have left the Earth decimated. Our heroine is on the run trying to find and save her younger brother. When the final 5th wave begins a terrible truth is revealed about the aliens strategy to eradicate the human race. The ending is a bit of a letdown.

The movie was easy to follow, good twist, can tell there will be a second one with the way it ended.

Never read the book series but the previews looked good

This was a great movie when i started watching tthe movie but i wish they finish the story.

Typical teenage survivor film. Not great but not bad. The love story in this movie feels unnecessary and short lived. Cut that out of the film and it'd make more sense.

Not a great movie but it was enjoyable. Not much character background and a little lacking on what should have been much bigger special effects in the beginning.

This movie is good, bought it for my sister and she loved it, obviously. She read the book first and was that much more excited to watch the movie

This is a cool look at a possible apocalyptic end to earth and humanity. Will really draw in teens and young adults, story is based on YA novels.

Not a bad movie but your typical teen drama movie that has been coming out of the wood works these past few years.

This movie compares favorably with the book. They could do the entire trilogy.

Incredibly great at 4k by their colors so. I really like how it looks.

Sci fi 4k is outstanding Good movie typical plot worth a buy
