Terrible movie. After watching the trilogy I had some high hopes. Totally let down

Worth only for 3D scenes, I purchased with my gift certificate, not worth spending 30 bucks

The movie itself wasn't as great as I'd thought it to be. The original was better.

Waste of money. Don't like movies without the same actor and it looked fake

In my opinion these movies are why they went back to marvel.

The Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies are awful, despite good casts. But they both look great on these Blu-Rays.

Can you reboot a franchise that once held the record for largest opening weekend in history? Can you create something original using a character who was first introduced to the world in 1962? Peter Parker, age 4, (played by Max Charles) is playing hide and seek one night when he discovers someone has broken into his father’s study. His father, Richard (played by Campbell Scott) sees this and takes some important papers, his wife Mary (played by Embeth Davidtz) and his son to the home of his Aunt May (played by Sally Field) and Uncle Ben (played by Martin Sheen). Peter is left in that home for his own safety and never sees his parents again. At least a decade later, Peter (played as a teenager by Andrew Garfield), is being bullied by an athlete named Flash Thompson (played by Chris Zylka) and has a crush on a student named Gwen Stacey (played by Emma Stone). When Peter returns home at the end of the day, bruised and beaten by Flash, he finds papers in his father’s briefcase that show he once worked with a man named Dr. Curt Connors (played by Rhys Ifans). Connors works at a company named Oscorp, so Peter disguises himself as an intern to gain access to the lab and, hopefully, Connors. Little did he know, the tour for new interns was led by Gwen Stacey. She knows immediately that the ID badge that Peter’s wearing belongs to someone else, but allows him to continue on the tour regardless. Peter sneaks away from the group and finds a lab filled with genetically-modified spiders that are producing biocable. As is often the case with people who bother animals for no reason, Peter gets bitten. Security eventually finds him and escorts him out of the building. While on the subway, he discovers that he gained far more than knowledge from his visit. Now, I saw the 2002 Spider-Man film starring Tobey Maguire and the 2004 sequel. I liked it initially, but over time, I grew tired of it. I thought 2004’s Daredevil was a much better film, despite mixed reviews from moviegoers and critics. Not to mention, I believe Kirsten Dunst gave a less-than-stellar performance as Parker’s love interest, Mary Jane Watson. Not to mention the irony of having blonde Kirsten Dunst dye her hair red to play Mary Jane Watson and then having redhead Emma Stone dye her hair blonde to play Gwen Stacey. Forgetting all that for a second, this was a much better film than the one we got from Sam Raimi. Director Marc Webb and company have created something with a much darker, more serious tone, a better story, and a solid conclusion. I enjoyed this film very much.

3rd time hopes the charm had this movie before in past before it’s ultimate MCU debut connection , 3D is great must own or you’ll be turned into a lizard!

MOVIE: The first act is awkward both in pacing and story, but it gives way to an emotional, well-acted story with engaging action sequences, that admittedly is still not without flaw. VIDEO: While the cinematography is a bit dim, not so much in lighting and more in a, "did someone just turn the backlight on my TV down," way, this Blu-ray displays it beautifully. Detail is sharp and well defined, colors are accurate, contrast is punchy and detailed, and no notable compression artifacts are visible. There's a "Mastered in 4K," release that yeilds slightly stronger detail and better gradation, but on the whole it's not worth the upgrade if you already own this disc. AUDIO: This DTS-HD MA 5.1 track is excellent, save one strangely mixed scene. Rear speakers are used frequently and beautifully, bass is strong, fidelity and dialogue are excellent. However, there's a scene toward the end of the movie, with Peter and Gwen having a conversation in the rain, that has some odd flaws. In this scene, dialogue is quiet to the point of being almost inaudible, rear speaker activity is minimal if not nonexistent, and dialogue is always accompanied by a weird hiss or high-pitched hum. That scene aside, though, this movie sounds amazing.

Although I love superhero movies, and have been a big fan of Spider-man since I was a little kid, after seeing the original trilogy, I have found that this new Spider-man reboot is lacking in the personality department. In the original series, as goofy as he was, you sort of had an attachment to Tobey McGuire and really felt like you were in his shoes and could feel what he was feeling. Whereas with Andrew Garfield, I just didn't get that. Although yes, I got the feeling like he was an outcast and an isolated and frustrated teenager, I just didn't connect with the way he communicated. He was almost too distant, and as a writer I know how important it is to connect with the primary character in order to get a reader fully immersed in the story line. I feel the same technique needs to apply with movies as well. However, aside from that, I did enjoy the plot as well as the fighting scenes and such, which more than made up for Garfield's lack of screen presence. Therefore, I am going to give it 4 stars. PS--As with anything, if you have a way to get the Blu-Ray, just DO it. The graphics differences from one format to the next are phenomenal, especially with the right television set that can do 1080p and 24 frames.

this is the best spiderman movie that has ever been made. i scene this movie in the theaters and it blew me a way. the movie has stayed the same superhero wise but the acting that these 2 bring to the screen is wow. the only thing that i was a little unsure of at first was the fact of 3D, i thought it was going to be one of those movies that say 3D and they actually just meant the previews but this was not one of those movies at all their are a lot of 3D spots throughout the movie and ending hold on to your seat because they take you on a crazy 3D perspective of spider-man as he sowrse through the city.

By far one of my favorite spider man movies!! If your thinking about buying, buy it!

This movie is very well acted and in many ways I think Andrew Garfield does a better job at being Peter Parker than Tobey Maguire did. Here is a summary of the cast and plot of the movie. This reboot came out in 2012 was directed by Marc Webb, and stars Andrew Garfield (Spider-Man), Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field. Being a reboot of a fairly recent, and rather well done series, The Amazing Spiderman had a lot to surpass, let alone live up to. Fortunately, it definitely stands tall and proud. Though the origin has the same basis as the Raimi movies, since that's true to the comic book, this is an entirely different film. Being a fan of the old, I thought it would be hard to fully appreciate exactly what this one had to offer, but it proved me wrong. From the pacing, acting, and effects, this one was done right. My only complaint is the 3D presentation. While passable, and better than some of the other titles available, often times look a bit flat and quite dim compared to some other titles. I wouldn't let that stop me from purchasing, though, since you get a well made movie along with a plethora of bonus content spread across all three Blu-ray discs, making this a four disc set. While inevitable comparisons will be made to the older series, keep in mind that both are good in their own rights and should be appreciated in their own ways.
