I got this blu-ray set for Christmas and I absolutely love it! I thought the steelbook version had sold out and was very surprised to get it for Christmas. The case looks amazing and it contains a wonderful collection of discs inside. Some people on here have complained that the 3D disc did not work. I was concerned so I tried it out last night. The blu-ray disc played perfectly and the movie was excellent. I watched the whole thing without any trouble at all. I also felt that the bonus features were very good too. There is a "Making Of" documentary that runs nearly 2 hours. Though it doesn't contain all the behind the scenes footage of some other movies I own, this one definitely contains more bonus footage than some recent blu-rays I've purchased. All in all I think this is a great set to own! The case is awesome, the 3D is perfect, and the bonus features will keep you busy for hours. I would not hesitate to buy this blu-ray set if you are a fan of Spider-man or just superhero movies in general. You won't be disappointed!

The inclusion of Ultra Violet makes this movie very accessable on various devices, and portable without carrying a physical disk or taking up storage space on your device/computer. Ultra Violet resides in the "cloud" Thats a great improvement, and the resolution of Ultra Violet (if you have fast - ie 10 mps internet) is full HD (Blu-Ray) which beats the flexability and quality of older digital copies that had to be stored on your device with DVD resolution. The extra DVD is great in case you have an older DVD player on another TV or in a vehicle intertainment system. Note dont pay extra for ultra violet if you have internet service that cannot maintain 9mips or better. You will be frustrated by freezing up, skips, and worse. the slower the internet the worse it gets until its pretty much unusable.

As a huge Spider-Man fan, I was skeptical about this movie, but came out very pleased. The best aspect is the representation of the character himself: Andrew Garfield was born to play the role, and I love how the focus is more on Spidey's speed and reflexes, rather than so much his strength. However, the Lizard leaves something to be desired; it's not so much that he's a terrible villain, but he's just kind of "there" to be the villain really, and no more. Other characters get some kind of start to characterization, but then are completely ignored later on. But the positives far outweigh the negatives for this film, and I'm very excited to see where they take the franchise going forward.

I am fully prepared to absorb, process, and discard all the negativity that will follow this review. So, lets begin. Also, I am not a Sam Raimi fanboy, nor do I don my walls with Tobey Maguire stuff. Rather I am an avid patron of modern film. Which brings me to the question: why? Why is this film so popular? It is mediocre at best. Sony should have relinquished the rights of the franchise back to Marvel where it could rest knowing a reboot was to soon. Instead, greed steps in and we are given this fuzzing mess. Incorporating every cliche, cookie cutter approach possible, Sony has truly smeared the excellence that was Spider-Man 1&2. Note the exclusion of the third because it was actually worse than this film. Suffice it to say, younger, impressionable film patrons will probably never watch such great films as the latter thanks largely to this mess. Good day to you all.

This is an origin story so it takes some time for it get going. It's about an hour before he finally puts on the Spider-Man costume and starts swinging around the city. The sequel is more fun, but for $17.95 this was worth getting. I waffled between "Average" and "Good" but the 3D made me decide "Good" was the right rating. The Sam Raimi movies were kind of better than this in my humble opinion, but they weren't in 3D. If you like Spider-Man and you like 3D it makes sense to get this DVD.

The Amazing Spider-Man brings back the webslinger to the big screen. This time in reboot fashion. Peter Parker is on a quest to find out what ever happened to his parents. Along the way, Parker falls in love with Gwen Stacy and gains super powers by a genetically engineered spider. Parker uses his new found powers to find the man who killed Uncle Ben. He disguises himself as Spider-Man to not only find Uncle Ben's killer, but to protect the innocent from bad guys. And one of those bad guys includes his mentor Curt Connors who has transformed himself into a large lizard. Parker must defeat Connors and his evil plan. Great film. A great start of the new Spider-Man film saga.

The Amazing Spider Man is an instant classic. Easily better than the previous three Spider Mans. Each of the previous movies were great when they were released but this new movie beats them in all phases. The story is well written, the acting is incredible, and the special effects are incredible. I expect the sequel to be a major movie event.

The Amazing Spider-Man is a reboot of the Spider-Man, it is different enough from the previous trilogy but a lot of the same story beats are seen here. The cast does a wonderful job with the material here, and I would argue are better cast than the previous trilogy. I will say that I am a fan of the previous trilogy and in many ways prefer the previous trilogy, but this movie does stand on its own and will go in different directions in future sequels. Overall, a worthwhile experience for anyone interested in the Spider-Man mythos.

While it seemed like the cast and crew were trying, the movie just didn't live up to the standards Sam Raimi set back in 2002. In Raimi's films, you could tell he LOVED Spider-Man and knew the ABCs and XYZs about him. Now, it's like Marc Webb has HEARD of Spider-Man, but doesn't understand him. The 3D isn't bad, but not eye popping.

Thank you director Marc Webb and writers for an amazing piece of work. finally a Spider Man that I loved. you made Toby McGuire look like Michael Keaton in an original Spider Man to Batman comparison. I can't wait to see the next movie.

Spider-Man has bee my favorite super hero since I was a kid, and this one is by far my favorite movie from Spider-Man and one of the best super hero movies I've ever seen. So many elements in the movie such as the action and the character development. The Amazing Spider-Man does not cease to amaze and I highly recommend this film to anyone. The HD quality is great and also the price!

This reboot of the Spider-Man franchise is a fun start to what I hope will be a series of several more movies. Much of the plot will be familiar to anyone who's seen 2002's Spider-Man, but all new actors and some new ideas make this a fresh comic book movie that is worth checking out. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are the best part of the film, and the action is fun to watch.

I'm not usually that excited about all of these "reboots" and remakes but I have to say I enjoyed this even more than the original Spider-Man movie. Good picture quality (though apparently is has been re-released with an improved image from a 4k scan, which makes me wonder why it wasn't originally released that way) and great audio make for a very enjoyable viewing experience.

It is a great movie! I usually become bored with the previous spider-man movies but immediately after you finish watching it you will want to rewatch. I think I am up to about 5 times (little side note: a great movie to watch with others because the action and drama will keep them quiet whilst being enmeshed by the compelling storyline and beautiful cinematography of the movie)

Of all the Spider-Man Movie remakes, this movie is the best version BY FAR due to the on-screen and off-screen chemistry between Garfield and Stone. I wish the Amazing Spider-Man versions had come out before the Spider-Man movies because they do not get as much notoriety and are very underrated due to the over-saturation of recent comic book adaptations.

I was one of the few people who preferred a reboot than a fourth Spider-man film after the abysmal Spider-Man 3. This reboot is well needed IMO and it payed off. I honestly prefer the Marc Webb films over the Raimi Films except for Spide-Man 2. I would give this movie a watch if you love Spidey.

I positively enjoy watching this movie but the Sam Raimi trilogy is better than this movie. Andrew Garfield, I thought he was decent and not a bad Spider-Man actor. Still, I prefer Tobey Maguire by far. It was amazing with the Lizard being the main villain in the movie. The comedy in it is hilarious.

In this reboot of the Spider-man trilogy, Peter Parker finds himself once more becoming Spider-man. This time however, he has to deal with the Lizard. As a reboot, the film is quite solid and features plenty of action and the special effects are great, but it can tend to get a little hokey at times.

Awesome movie. I recommend watching. I love the way they tell the story and I think that Andrew Garifeld makes for a much better Peter Parker than Toby Mcguire. I really loved the graphics. Storyline is more true to the original Marvel comics than the other versions of this movie. Why are you still reading? Buy now!

I thought this Spiderman movie was better than the last one from the series before the reboot. The plot was different but at the same time, it kept the origins about the same. I thought the cast was better as well. For the BD, the sound and picture are beautiful. Great disc to add to your collection.
