The movie was amazing. One of the best Batman movies released. Glad I was able to add it to my steelbook collection

4k disc is sharp, colors are deep, and blacks are deep and rich. Story is killer and action is great.

Let’s get this out of the way - this is not a feel-good superhero film. This is not an MCU movie in the least, and it may even rattle your kids a bit. While the action scenes are amazing and it is filled with crowd-pleasing moments, “The Batman” is more in the vein of “Se7en,” with a city beaten down by the horrors of life looking for a hero in a wasteland of crime. It is dark, dank, and perpetually shrouded in rain and fog. Gotham City is back to being a character in and of itself, similar to the Burton films. This iteration, however, leaves behind the fairy tale elements of Burton, the camp of Schumacher, and the sci-fi of Snyder. Instead, “The Batman” builds on the “real-world” feel of the Nolan films and doubles down. This film feels like it could happen in our world even more so than the Dark Knight trilogy. This is a crime epic, that also happens to star Batman and a good portion of his rogues’ gallery. If “The Dark Knight” was “Heat” seen through the prism of a comic book movie, this one is “Se7en” with hints of “L.A. Confidential” and a Scorsese movie. The cast is exceptional, the set and costume designs are breathtaking, and dammmmn, that batmobile. It’s dense, dark, and intense, and I can’t wait to experience it again.
