This is one of the coolest cases for a movie that I own

Matt Reeves really said eff it and delivered the most hard-boiled-detective Batman movie ever, with Robert Pattinson as a Zen Master of brooding, slugging his way through the dirtiest-looking Gotham since Tim Burton slid Michael Keaton into that rubber cowl. Paul Dano meanwhile brings his Prisoners-level unsettling best to The Riddler, whose introduction alone is the stuff of great slasher villains, perhaps coming dead even if not just eclipsing Heath Ledger in instant-legend status. Each of the other major players - Zoe Kravitz's slick Selina, Jeffrey Wright's coolheaded Gordon, and Colin Farrell's slimy Penguin - offer strong support, but the above-all standout may be the new muscle car Batmobile, entering the picture like Christine powered by Godzilla's atomic breath. With Greig Fraser's moody photography, Michael Giacchino's powerhouse score, and more than few of Reeves's trademark fixed-POV shots, this Dark Knight is punching as hard as ever, with, like Nolan's Batman Begins, the promise of much heavier and harder battles to come. BRING. IT. ON.

Great movie with a nice steel book. This is the version to get.

This is a near-perfect Batman movie and I can't wait to see what Reeves does with the sequel. While not another origin story (thank God), this is a "year two" Batman story where Bruce is still finding his feet and figuring out how this whole Batman thing will work, so watching him make mistakes on occasion is refreshing and makes him all the more human. Also, this is the first Batman flick that feels like a proper detective story like my favorite Batman comics do. He did start out in Detective Comics after all! That combined with the incredible atmosphere created by the detailed world-building, gorgeous cinematography and haunting score truly makes this feel like a Batman comic come to life more than any Batflick to date. This steelbook case is awesome, too. I'm sorry to see these steelbook releases becoming rarer (and online-only), as I missed out on the Dune one which was gorgeous. Glad I was able to get my hands on this one! Worth paying a few bucks extra for as they do look great on the shelf.

The Batman is an absolute Masterpiece of filmmaking. It is fantastic and I consider it the best film of 2022 so far! Matt Reeves did an excellent job both writing and directing this one. It really gets back to the roots of Batman as a character and his inception in "Detective Comics." This is a full-on detective story and I loved it. It shows us why he truly is "The World's Greatest Detective." The music by Michael Giacchino is memorable and iconic. And the cinematography by Greig Fraser here is stunning. This is a dark film, both thematically and visually, but it looks amazing thanks to his work here. It has a beautiful, grounded, and practical visual style that evokes noir films from the '70s, making great use of shadows and darker lighting. The 4K disc is top-notch offering fans excellent video and audio. And the BB exclusive steelbook is the icing on the cake. The artwork on it is very fitting of the film and it has a nice matte finish. This set gets my highest recommendation!
