    Anticipation.......the steelbook pre-order

What is the deal with recent Steelbook releases being held in limbo to pre-order until just a few days before release? Maybe go back to the days of NO pre-orders and you have to stand outside in a line on release day, if you want get all "stone aged" about it. As far as the packaging goes, a bit disappointing. No embossing or super unique graphics on the cover. If PS5s every become available without committing every waking hour to finding one, I'd review the 4K conversion, but alas.....to stingy to buy a makeshift filler player in the interim.

    So close to greatness

The Batman very good, visually just stunning, the music choices work, the fighting is great, but it still has some issues. To begin, for those who doubted Pattinson because of his Twilight years, he's probably one of the better Batmen. Honestly, everyone is great in their roles, but Wright is an absolute standout, probably the best Gordon (sorry but not sorry Oldman), with the the chemistry between Batman & Gordon being outstanding. But I will say that the chemistry between Pattinson & Serkis is lacking, due to minimal interactions and the writing. In regards to the narrative it has an extremely strong first act, and a fairly good 2nd and 3rd, but there are parts where the film gets a bit lost in its story and certain revelations arise that feel underwhelming, not because they aren't believable, but because i feel like they didn't fully commit to it, but instead resolve it within 10 minutes. And I do feel that aspect somewhat undercuts the film.

This steelbook is very cool. The 4k looks great and im happy with the audio. I tried streaming the movie before the physical release and you can tell the audio is always more compressed. Trying to get close as i can to the theatre sound. Also the extra features disc has over two hours of content i believe. Super impressed with that as most physical releases have little or no special features these days. The front as a super small cosmetic brush/mark but im not docking points for that. Arrived better than some dvds ive had delivered.

man, what can i say about this film?...first of all, I was sort of expecting this feel cause it totally reminds me of the comics YEAR ONE and YEAR TWO when batman was first learning how to be of some good in Gotham. But of course he had to learn a lot because it wasn't just about revenge, hard justice, etc. In this film, there was some kind of way for him to eventually figure out he had to become more than just fear and justice. The characters were good, especially the riddler, way better than any campy stuff I've seen. Even the cat woman seem to be at the beginning of her character building, which was great. The only thing I didn't like was in the production/manufacturing of this disc, the sound was not loud enough on my 7.1 system, even though the surround effects were clearly there, I still had to turn it up some to get some more Umphf out of it. I have a great system and Sub so that wasn't the problem. Anyway, pick this film up if you haven't seen it, its worth it.

One of the best interpretations of Batman, Gotham, Riddler, etc. in ages. Every frame of this film oozes with character, and the plot is so tightly and well woven. I've been waiting for ages to see the true detective side of Batman, and this film delivers in spades. Matt Reeves truly understands the character and world, and lets them all breathe in ways the DCEU hasn't since its incarnation. If you're a film noir fan, and especially if you're a Batman fan, you can't miss this.

    The Dark Knight, literally

The Dark Knight gets a fresh reboot and a great disc. This is a dark movie, meaning it takes place under very little light. The 4K holds up strong and everything has good detail and no artifacts. If your tv does not hold up well in dark movies, it will get slaughtered by this. Trying to watch this in the middle of a bright sunny day with no light control in your room is not recommended. Sound is great too, puts you into every scene. Steelbook is nice, nothing to right home about.

This is now my favorite Batman adaptation/movie. Robert Pattinson is excellent as Batman and Bruce Wayne. Love the atmosphere and the use of red in the design. Great job by director Matt Reeves. Paul Dano and Jeffrey Wright are very good. Great special features. I only watched the blu-ray disk. I had no trouble downloading the digital copy. The steelbook has a nice design, although I have seen pictures of import versions with better cover art (Batman in front of the Batmobile).

Well, after YEARS of delay, Matt Reeves’ The Batman is finally here…and boy, was it worth the wait! Rob proves himself to be up for the challenge, although I would like to see more from him as Bruce Wayne. The suit is more flexible, making for better fight scenes, and Colin Firth is unrecognizable as The Penguin. Zoe Kravitz is the best live-action Catwoman/Selina Kyle (including Pfeiffer). And Paul Dano is terrifying as the Riddler. Should be rated R considering how brutal it is, not to mention the horror tone. Sure, the movie could’ve lost 1/2 an hour, but that’s my biggest complaint. In some ways, it’s better than Nolan’s movies because we see the Detective side of Batman as well as the vigilante. The home release comes with 2 HOURS of special features, and they are worth your time. Also, get your hands on the steelbook, if you can; it’s perfect for Bat-fans like me, and a great collectors item.

The high peak quality of the Nolan trilogy is challenged here and I welcome it. This is a Batman that exists in a different continuity from other iterations, and it feels different enough to stand apart from all other versions of Batman on film. I can say with confidence that I am excited to see any sequels from this film. The 4K handles this dark film very well, and it’s definitely the way to watch it. The steelbook looks great if you’re a collector. Highly recommended.

Ilove Michael Keaton because you always remember your 'first". I didn't think I would , but I really enjoyed Ben Affleck. I have to say he's probably my favorite. I couldn't wrap my head around Robert Pattinson, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I think this movie told the best and most complete story. It didn't feel like a rushed ending to keep it at the two hour mark. It felt more like a younger Bruce Wayne trying to figure out what kind of Batman he wanted to be.

This is the Batman film I've waited for my whole life to see. Christopher Nolan's trilogy is absolutely incredible, and The Dark Knight is one of my all-time favorite movies, but as far as BATMAN movies go, this movie absolutely nails it. The steelbook is gorgeous and the 4k transfer is one of the best I've seen. This really puts my OLED to the test. Watched this movie multiple times and am currently working through the extras. Can't recommend enough

Not the most amazing cover art, but what more can you expect from this version of Batman? The movie is takes place almost exclusively at night so it's a darker movie, which makes sense you'd have a darker cover for it. I like the way they make a question mark out of the light behind Batman's head. Inside art is only okay as well. There's one 4k disc and two Blu-ray Discs, the movie and then the extras. I'm enjoying the steelbook editions.

The Batman is a welcome return to a more grounded DC universe. The superhero who dresses up like a Bat and beats up criminals has always seemed like a crazy idea and I like how the movie explored how insane Bruce Wayne really is. Great visuals and music, but I felt it kind of dragged in the middle with the Falcone subplot. ~2hr45min but the Gotham that's portrayed is so immersive and interesting.

One of my favorite films of the year so far and it will probably end up on my top 10 of 2022. Of course, I had to have the steelbook edition of this film. Beautiful design and it even comes with a special features disc, which I'm looking forward to seeing the deleted scenes, production, and commentary on the film. Steelbook arrived with minor damage, literally a tiny .5 cm scratch on the side, but nothing too apparent.

Not to shabby for a Batman film.Nothing in my opinion will come close to Christopher Nolan’s films. But saying that doesn’t mean there is a future opportunity for the Batman of the future. The look and grittiness of the movie was pretty good.I like the fact that we see Batman start right out of the gate as a true detective.A investigative mindset to process the scenes as the plot goes along.I enjoyed that in the writing. The costumes were well done. Our new Batman does an okay job.Nothing spectacular at this point but passable. Now the real winner in the movie is the Penguin.Just WOW! I don’t want to say who it is.No spoilers but man oh man, great job!Super makeup.I thought the film was pretty good.

Wow I never thought there was going to be a better Batman movie since the one with Christian Bale. But when I first saw the trailer for this movie I was hooked and it didn’t disappoint in which I needed to get the steel case and have it for my collection. But this movie live up to its expectations full of action and a new take on a Batman movie.

Great steelbook for a good movie. Although it's hailed by some as a "masterpiece", I can't help but see some strenuous third act problems. But if you can look past those, the film is dripping with atmosphere with top notch performances by Pattinson and Dano. Even though there are issues, I can't wait to come back to Reeve's Gotham for round two.

The Batman is unlike any other previous Batman movie. Film noir Batman is dark, brooding, gritty and horrifying. Robert Pattinson is a young DETECTIVE Batman, who has to solve the riddles and murders of the Riddler. With an All-Star cast and directed by Matt Reeves, this a MUST see and own movie. Visuals and audio will rock your system. The steelbook is awesome. Thanks BB.

This is a cinematic masterpiece that is faithful to the comics and that actually displays the detective aspects of Batman. What else can I say about Robert Pattinson? He's a marvelous actor that nails the portrayal of Batman. If you enjoyed his acting in this particular film , I suggest viewing a few other films that he has starred in such as Good Time, The Lighthouse and High Life.

To me, Chris Nolan's trilogy was the best iteration of Batman in live action. But Matt's Reeves take on the Caped Crusader is an experience not to be missed. Dark, uncomfortable, claustrophobic even, it's a gritty masterpiece and one that really showcases the detective aspect of Batman. With an incredible performance by Robert Pattinson, he cements his role as the iconic hero.
