Although the story of Nat Turner's slave rebellion in Virginia is a formidable one worth telling, it probably could have been told better than presented by Nate Parker's version.

Very promising beginning, that turns out into something a little bizarre. Based on a true story, yes... however, something didn't quite translate to the screen.

The story is mostly historically accurate and well acted but it is a bit slow and the dialogue is a bit stilted. It is a valuable lesson which is fairly well done.

The movie was great. Nevertheless, I wouldn't purchase it in 4k UltraBluRay as there isn't much clarity/difference to a Blu-ray DVD which is presented in 1080p.

The movie was OK could've been better I suppose, it was slow at times but gradually picked up pace. Over all Ok for a period piece movie and a history lesson.

This is an intense movie that should be seen by anybody interested in history or engaging filmmaking. Performances are good.

Could have been done better. Nat Turners revolt only lasted two days. His exacution was gory, but I guess the rating would have to change.

I had high hopes for this movie. When I saw it for the first time, it just came off as ok. It's great to pass the time.

The director did not do this movie justice.... they didnt show his progression of reading and understanding the bible and his delivery. They never explained how far Nate lived from his wife. A potentially good movie that could have left historical landmarks and even failed to do this. I wish they could have a do over.

Got a bad rap due to Nate Parker's public problems, too bad because it's pretty good.
