I wasnt able to make it to the the movies when this was released and so I didnt really know what to expect when seeing the movie - was pleasantly surprised. beautifullly animated, great storytelling, cool song covers/renditions.

Couldn't wait to see this movie with the grandkids. It was terrifically done, great characters and showed alot of the tradition of Day of The Dead. Kids really enjoyed it as well as all the adults. one of the best animated movies i have seen in a long time.

My daughter wanted this movie. Its cute she watches it at least two times in a row when she watches about 4 times a week. It does teach a few life lessons without them knowing it. I find my self singing along with the songs the characters sing

The story takes place on a traditional mexican celebration. With an incredible range of colors a precious Catrina and a trickster Shibalba in perfect conjunction the creators gave us a delightful journey. Utterly enjoyable dvd or the format of your election

This is an under appreciated gem. It's a great movie to look at, very colorful with great attention to detail. The filmmakers are personally invested and it shows in the quality of this film. Rated PG as some of the jokes are a little above the younger set.

This movie is a must watch. The art style is unique in the retrospect that the characters are portrayed looking like marionettes The music is a beautiful blend of modern songs with a mariachi feel. A lovely story with a great cast of characters!.

I already had a feeling I would like this movie, but it was all told so well and the characters were very likable, well portrayed and the nicely done animation mixed with almost perfect levels of humor made this much better than anticipated.

Though it came out 4yrs ago before CoCo, so many comparisons but very different. It's a great movie, with awesome animation. Love the story line and the music. Purchased it for myself, but it grows on my 2yr old too.

Awesome movie, subtle difference watching it on blu-Ray but great nonetheless. Recently bought a 7" tv/stereo... 2-disc set great for watching movies on my vehicle. One at home, one in my car :) Best Buy never fails to give me exactly what I pay for.

Bought this movie based on the Rotten Tomatoes reviews and purchased from Best Buy for $5. The movie was definitely worth the price. The kids were entertained and the movie has been watched 2-3 times already. I don't think this movie will be as big a hit a some of our Pixar and Disney movies but the music and animation in the movie is fun and worth a watch (even for the parents).

As a fan of Guillermo Del Toro, I generally love his movies. This one is no exception. It was such a fun and vibrant movie, with nods to some of today's musical hits done with a Latin flair. Don't hesitate to pick this one up. My daughter loved it.

This film in time will be listed/mentioned as one of the best CGI toon ever made. The character designs, the vibrant and beautiful colors are just a sight to behold. Coming from the heart is the best thing to say about the story. It's simply magical.

I loved it as an adult but my baby didnt really get into it, she may be too young right now but maybe when shes 2-3 shel like this movie. Good movie for anyone, I appreciate that mexican culture was shown in a kids movie.

Funny kids movie that we enjoy as adults. My fiance and I bought this movie after we had rented it to watch because we thought it was so well made. The story is well done and the artwork is colorful. Music is catchy and the jokes are great.

I had never seen this movie prior to purchasing it. The animation is absolutely beautiful and unique, and the story is wonderful. A great animated film for all ages.

This movie needs to be in every home video library. So good. A classic story with a flair for the dramatic and stylish. Excellent visuals and fantastic, over the top design. Voice casting is superb. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!

This is a wonderful movie, we saw it in theaters and had to own it. Great to teach usa about different cultures. This is a family movie everyone will enjoy, please buy it and enjoy it. It brings people together and makes you think deeper about life.

At first the marionette style characters take a little getting use to,but after awhile you wont even notice them.The costumes are bright and colorful, and very detailed.And when the curtain is finally pulled back to reveal the underworld it is some of the most beautiful backdrops i have ever seen animated or otherwise.The story follows the lives of 3 friends from childhood to adulthood,and how their lives get affected buy two spirits who guard the underworld.It deals with several issues from out growing the shadow of your parents and finding your own identity, love,and even death.For the most part the characters are very enjoyable with the exception of one or two.overall the film has a fresh new look to it.And although it may not instantly become one of your must watch Blu-rays,i definitely feel it has a place in your collection.

Picked this one up on sale cheap to add to my collection of movies for my 1-yr old. Went ahead and watched this w/the wife one night while bored at home and was genuinely surprised w/how much we both liked it. The animation itself was beautiful and we both laughed pretty frequently. I'm sure kids will enjoy it to for some of the silly humor and the bright, unique animation.

This movie is rich in eye popping color and rich characters. This is a must for your family Blue ray collection. The kids will love it, and the adults will too. The music and sound quality compliments the story line. We had to own it.
