This is a dark, strange, and engaging movie and this 4k transfer make it look the best it has ever looked. If you are a fan of this movie you MUST pick up this release. It is the definitive way to watch this movie.

This movie was made with 480p viewers but the 4k transfer reveals how much detail people use to put into their movies back in the day. Definitely a must have!

Purchased this movie in 4k just because it was so awesome to watch it. Have had this movie on VHS, DVD and now on 4k and it is worth it. Quality is so much better. Love that the oldies are coming out looking new and fresh. Loved the movie, just needed the upgrade for better quality.

This is an excellent transfer to 4K UHD. The detail is noticeably greater than the previous blu-ray and the color grading is excellent. Also, the Steelbook option is a beautiful presentation deserving of this classic in its genre.

The plot / story is simplistic and darker than you would expect from Jim Henson, but overall a good movie to have around on a bad weather day. I have to say someone did a good job with the Blu-ray. It looks good, clean, and I was able to see a lot more detail on things that I never noticed or could see, even on the dvd.

Somehow it's a classic, but it puts me to sleep every time i watch it. I will give it another chance when I have the time.

This and Labyrinth are two of my favorite movies growing up and still to this day! I love sharing them along with Star Wars to a whole new generation. So much better than most the stuff out today. Get this, you won’t regret it! It’s a great story. Amazing fantasy and puppet work.

The steelbook is very nice, super glossy and using the original poster artwork which is a major plus. The movie itself is really good, with incredible puppetry and is just very entertaining. If you're a fan of the movie this is definitely a great version worth getting

Such a great movie in 4k picture looks amazing in the format and also has a atmos soundtrack finally a great version too have of this movie.

Purchased this out of nostalgia. The film doesn't hold up well, but anything Henson had a hand in creating is worth watching.

Was waiting for this to be re-released and finally it has been! This has been a hard item to get hold of and I'm glad Best Buy had more to release. This film is a fantastic family film and can't be missed!

If you like fantasy films you have to include this in your collection. The picture quality is vastly improved over the blu ray and the HDR let's the colors (when present) sparkle. Add this quirky film to your collection.

I loved The Dark Crystal when I saw it in the 1980s as a child. I saw it was available on Blu-ray so I picked it up. Video quality is excellent and the movie is still just as good to watch today! Definitely recommend this for any fans!

Another jim Henson production a classic and family friendly movie with engaging characters and witty dialog with excitement throughout the movie

This is my all time childhood favorite movie, the transfer is not epic though. It's basically upgraded so this movie filmed in the 80s wouldn't look like a walking oil painting on your 4k TV, I still highly recommend it. Great for the diehard fan of this flick

Grew up watching this! I love the puppetry and cinematography involved to make this movie! Jim Henson was a genius. Looks amazing in 4K HDR!!

This is a wonderful addition to any steelbook collection! The artwork on both the inside and outer cover is awesome. A highly recommended purchase for any collector of steelbooks, like myself.

The Dark Crystal Steelbook is the only way to own this film. It deserves its own shelf and respect among your Blu- ray collection. It’s awe-some! Its a grainy transfer but the imagine is sharper, the color pops and sound is great. Recommend it 100%

this movie reminds me and seems a bit tolkienesque in nature .....I remember watching it back in the 80's and enjoying it. yes , they are muppet style characters , but they are nicely crafted , the storyline in my mind is solid. Glad they brought the movie back.

This movie has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid. The puppetry is amazing! This disc is a great presentation - picture and sound.
