WOW. (good wow). This movie is not for younger viewers, parents be warned - this really should have been rated R. So watch it first yourselves and then decide if your kids might be able to handle it. (Some 8 year olds may handle this movie well, and some 16 year olds may not, or even 26 year olds - refering to a friend of mine. She had one word to describe the movie - I 'd already seen it - 'scary.' I had had forwarning that it was going to be a fairly accurate portrayal of a 'psycotic clown' and that it was gooing to be a really 'dark' movie, so I guess I just expected it to be what it was.) Anyway, this is a great movie, though I don't usually watch stuff this 'dark.' However, I do believe it to be a rather accurate view of the batman world. Or at least one more perspetive of it. I hope if this director / actors / writers continue with this batman saga, that they will take care with it (and not end up with another X3 fiasco). So, great movie, but might not be for everyone. Goognight everybody!

Just when I thought they couldn't outdo BB, I was wrong again! The Joker/Heath Ledger comes to Gotham to create absolute chaos in the city, just as Harvey Dent/Arron Eckhart, Batman/again Christian Bale and Jim Gordon/Gary Oldman almost restore order. I didn't think anyone could outact Jack Nicholson as the Joker, boy! I'm glad to be wrong there. Jack's version was way over the top as the Joker, Heath Ledger was somewhat more subtly menacing, and he appears to hold his own. Christian Bale still does a good Batman, even with his raspy voice, but that bothered my friends more than it did me, I understood he did that for disguising purposes. Can't forget to mention Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, because so many times he plays an over the top villian, he's very good in this role as well. Special mention must be made to Arron's Harvey Dent, the burn-make up is very creepy and convincing. Chris Nolan and David S. Goyer once again do a very good direction/script, check it out!

    What To Say

Here is the deal... YOU MUST BUY THIS MOVIE!!! All I can say is that this movie is PHENOMINAL. While my movie friends may disagree with it being the best movie ever, they cannot disagree with the late and certainly great Heath Ledger for his role as the notorious Joker. It is a shame, as you will definitely see, that Heath is not around to see his work so talked about, probably more so than most actors in a LONG time! I am saddened by the fact that he isn't around to continue making films at the caliber he brought "The Dark Knight" to. This movie is certainly going in my movie collection as soon as it comes out, simply because this has been one of the greatest movies I have seen in a LONG time... even better than the "Transformers" 2007. If anything, you should simply buy this movie as a testament to the man that Heath Ledger was as a phenominal actor. To put it lightly, I would be stupid not to recommend this movie to ALL of my friends, their friends and so on. BUY IT!!!

    Heath Ledger's Performance Outstanding

This Movie Flows very nicely. It is a combinations of great directing, and amazing acting that really makes this movie. Heath Ledger's performance was a key part of the movie. Throughout the movie Batman (Christian Bale) struggles with how far he is willing to go to capture the Joker (Heath Ledger). And you almost find yourself questioning whether he has gone to far. The only problem i could find with the movie is that i almost wish they would have saved two-face for a different movie. I feel like both of these villains are complex enough to deserve there own movie. This movie is obviously more about the Joker, and Two-Face is kinda put on the sidelines. But this is definitely a great movie. Its worth buying and adding to the collection.

Batman story has never been filmed so well!!!!

Batman has been my favorite superhero for a long time, and Batman begins showed me someone had a clue on how to film Batmans dark story. This movie just solidifies the attempt by puting the all time favorite supervillian of mine into play, The Joker! Heath Ledger in my opinion did a slightly better job than Jack Nicholson did but this movie follows more of the Dark Knight comic series than the old Comic/TV series lighter style Batman. For anyone who says that either of the two above mentioned characters are not super hero or villian you are sadly mistaken. This movie shows how people can become either a super hero albeit an antihero, or super villian. This movie is more realistic than any superhero film that I have ever seen. Human nature is seen on both sides of the fence in this film. This is one of the best if not the best I have ever seen in my lifetime, and I have seen a lot of films. Highly recommended for anyone

    Better the Second Time!

"The Dark Knight" was better for me the second time watching it. When I had saw it the first time in theaters I didn't think much of it other than that Heath Ledger carried the movie. Watching it the second time, I gained more of an appreciation for the movie. "The Dark Knight" is a very awesome movie with a great story and tons of action. Director Christopher Nolan has made another success with this movie. The acting in this movie was superb, Christian Bale always does a fantastic job and Heath Ledger was outstanding. Overall, everything in this movie was great and I highly recommend it to anyone. Especially to someone who has not seen "The Dark Knight" already.

Heath makes the audiences cringe with perfection

This is my favorite movie of all time. Hands down. And for a very good reason, because this is now the template for Superhero/Action movies. Not only is it an Art house movie in disguise as an action/superhero movie, it's an Action/Superhero movie that's also an Art house movie. This is such a deep dark look into real life its scary. Heath Ledger gives one of the greatest if not the greatest villan performance, topping even Javier Bardem in "No Country For Old Men". He is picture perfect in this movie as is most of the cast. I heavily recommend this movie and I know you'll enjoy it! For both indie lovers and popcorn action lovers. I really would have loved more special features for this movie and thought a directors cut would have been more amazing. But those are the only complaints I have.

    Best movie of the year

Well as of all of you should know this Movie the dark knight is the best movie of the year. With it's awsome plot , great choice of charecters , awsome plot , and overall good movie. I saw this movie 3 times when it was in theatres and let me tell you i fully enjoyed all three times i saw it in theatres. I have to say the best charecter in this movie was the Joker by far. He did an outstanding job for his role and his acting abilities. The joker is what i think made the movie for me. Now batman on the other hand he also did an amazing job in this movie , The best part about this movie was the ending that right there for me made the movie such a success . over all i think this movie was the best of the year because of the acting , plot and the charecters. I give this movie 5 out of 5 stars

    Just Awesome

Well, I went to go see this movie the first weekend it came out in theaters, the movie theater that I go to had to open two separate "rooms" to accompany the great amount of people that had came out to see the movie, both were packed. I rarely purchase movies on DVD or Blu-Ray, but this was such a great movie that I knew from the beginning that I had to get it. As far as the actually Blu-Ray movie goes, it looks awesome, i'm playing it on my PS3, using HDMI, and Optical audio cable. So as far as sound and picture goes, its just the best. But one thing that I don't like about the Blu-Ray movie is that it sometimes switches between wide-screen, and full-screen, sometimes I didn't noticed until I watched it again. But other than that, everythings good. Awesome Movie.

    better than The Dark Knight

Well, for starters let me say Heath Ledger R.I.P He did a fine acting job here, very very dark portrayal of the ominous Joker. Can't say i liked Ledger before this, what a tragic loss to the movie business. This movie is full of action, full of story, full of suspense. To put it simply...This movie is just plain good. Anxious for the 3rd installment of this new take on the Batman flicks, which is much more like the actual (most recent) dark side of Batman in the comics. The 90's Batman with Keatan and Nicholson was good too and bore signs of the Adam West version of Batman in the early days. Batman Begins blew those out of the water, and with ease The Dark Knight left all others in the dust, this is a must watch a fan of the comic or not...SEE THIS MOVIE!

    Perfect!

If there were ever a perfect movie, The Dark Knight is absolutely it! Christian Bale continues his oustanding role as Bruce Wayne/Batman and delievers another incredible performance. Heath Ledger really stole the show though as the new, much darker Joker. If you're expecting him to be anything like Jack Nicholson's Joker, you had better think again. Ledger's portrayal of the movie's villain was absolutely spectacular, and even a bit scary at some points. The plot is phenomenally gripping as it never lets go all the way through to the end. Aaron Eckhart plays an excellent Harvey Dent and of course, Michael Caine returns as probably the best Alfred ever! The movie has tons of action and plenty of suspense. Get ready for an amazing thrill ride. Hold on tight!

    Great Movie

This is one of my favorite movies, a great sequel to "Batman Begins". I saw it at the theater and then at home at least 3 times. The actors's performances are a big part of this blockbuster: Chistian Bale, Heith Ledger (unforgivable), Gary Oldman and the others give the best they get in here. This Blue Ray disc is the perfect match for such a good movie. The sound and the music are immersive and the extras, although not impressive, make a nice complement for the fans of this hero, specially the "Ghotan News" that narrates fictional news of Gothan City and the movie characters. In short, if you enjoyed this movie at the theater this Blue Ray is a great stuff to take home and enjoy it out loud (I fell sorry for my neighbors).

    Best Batman by Far!

This is by far the best and top movie Superhero movies ever. Everything was oustanding about this movie all the acting was great, the action scene were extremely well played since nothing was excagerating like in other movies inwhich every action scene looks fake or is something thats impossible to do. This movie stayed true to what it each character can physically do and the main thing about what made this movie perfect was the amazing acting by the Joker. Even though the movie is about 2.5 hours long it what totally worth it from begining to end because they balance out all the action and the talking scenes. My girlfriend love it and she never even watch or read the Batman cartoons or comics.

The best Batman movie ever? hardly

I don’t get it, bale was not the best Batman and heath ledger was not the best joker. Bob Kane never meant for Batman to be too dark for kids to enjoy, and the joker so evil that heath ledger couldn’t emotionally handle it. I was let down in those regards, too psychotic and not enough heroism to the series. It was okay, but there are much better Batman actors and movies. Sorry bale and ledger.

Great Movie at a Great Price

Although the plot is a little out of sync with the other two, it was a great movie outside of the trilogy. I've heard that it was too dark for some to watch and that it seems likes its own story/feeling going on apart from the other two but I don't share this opinion. I loved Heath Ledger as the Joker and I think he was the best to play the part. I still do believe it is a must see in the series as it explains a lot of the subtleties and larger plot points in the third installment of the series.

    The Darkest Batman movie yet

5 of 5 stars for the comic book based Batman movie, The Dark Knight. By far, the darkest of the Batman movies and by far the longest of the movies. At 2hr 35min, frankly it is way too long and could be tightened-up. This movie focuses on the Joker and presents a sad, horrible and sick person rather than the odd funny joker of other Batman movies. This Joker is really evil. The movie is richly made and grandly photographed with really great action scenes and special effects. I highly recommend this movie, just be prepared for a long experience. Oh, the Blu-Ray is packed with interesting behind the scenes materials.

One of the Greatest Movies for 2008

Heath Ledger did an awesome job in this movie. I saw it months ago and I'm patiently awaiting the DVD release because I'm going to buy it the first day it comes out. This is a dark movie but that's what it suppose to be. Christian Bale was great, I can't think of anything wrong with this movie. The special affects were great, the story line and the acting was awesome. It's just too sad that Heath Ledger didn't live to get the recognition he deserves for this movie. He truly would have deserved an oscar for this movie. He was a great actor period but I have to say I think this was his best work ever. REST IN PEACE, Heath.

You are or will witness the "Greatest Movie Of All Time." If I were to make a movie, It would not have conme close to the originality of the story, action, drama, cinemaphotography, all the above. I was a kid at a candy store for the first time in moivie history. I've seen some great ones in my times, but this is in a class undefined. Christopher Nolan and Warner should see that they have set a bench mark for all types of movies to model after. My Hat Is Off. They asked if I would recomend this to a friend at the bottom. Well how about to my enemies as well. You did Genesis to this movie.

    Best Batman movie ever made!

The followup to Batman Begins, with the same director & most of the same players from that film, more than deserves the praise it has gotten. Batman (Bale) now finds himself facing the Joker (Heath Ledger, who accomplished the impossible by forever extinguishing the memory of Jack Nicholson's Joker from the Burton film). At the same time, Bruce finds himself championing Gotham City's new D.A. Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart), who has become involved with Bruce's childhood friend Rachel (Maggie Gyllenhaal). This film is perhaps the most tragic superhero film ever made.
