It could have been a better made movie and plot was weak

I love both actors in this movie, and their star power definitely covers ups some shortages that the script suffers from. Having never read the books, this movie makes me want to see what all the fuss was about - the world looks interesting, and is probably much more fleshed out when given time to breathe.

This is a descent movie, not the greatest but a good one to own

Hoping they make a series of these movies. I have heard people are disappointed because it doesn't completely follow the books and will say was little slow at first but enjoyable Don't believe the bad reviews pick it up for yourself. Have to say love the IT "hidden egg" in movie gave me a good laugh

I did not know that this was based on a Stephen King novel, but it still does not change how good it is. I am an Elba fan; he puts his heart into all his characters. The gunslinger is no different. The story is unusual but entertaining. Some slow parts, but it makes up for it in the fighting scenes.

Picture is good but as good as 4K and sound is also average.

I get it. It's hard for life-long fans of Stephen King's work to accept this movie, as it's NOT a straight adaptation. But primarily for that reason, I think it's unfair to knock it. It's actually a good "entry level" path into the sprawling world of The Dark Tower. And the 4K looks fantastic.

Engaging action movie with elements of science fiction, magic and Western style gunslinger. Elba and McConaughey turn in excellent performances. If you read the book then you might feel slightly unfulfilled. However, the great Stephen King praised the movie as a good rendition of his book.

Great Friday night movie. I give this movie a thumbs up. Hard to cram a Stephen King novel into one neat little package. I've read the entire series and had medium expectations. I was pleased at some content and disappointed with other parts. The story line has enough of that 'King touch' to be interesting and the flick stands alone without that 'There's gonna be a squeal' ending. There's a lot more to this book series so I wouldn't be surprising if they manage another one. The character development made sense. Incorporates a couple of different elements from different books in the series but you don't need to know anything about the book to enjoy this movie. The way they protrayed the use of magic was almost slick. No hocus pocus buy the guy a wand stuff. I'd watch it again.

Most Stephen King books don't do well as movies, with a few exceptions. But after reading reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. I found it rather good. I think if I had read The Dark Tower Book Series, I may not have liked it. But not have read them and seeing the movie I recommend it.

Great movie!! The reason why so many didn't like it is that they expected a movie of the first book in the series "The Gunslinger", but as Steven King himself stated this would not be the case. This was more a continuation of the story as a "second time" around the wheel. As a continuation/retcon of the whole Dark Tower story it worked and was actually rather good. Please watch for yourself with an open mind before you judge it. The Steele book is another reason to like.

The Dark Tower is an average movie. One time watch.

Now this movie is based off of the Stephen King’s Books/Novels of The Dark Tower but the movie is really truly very gifted very talented from Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey battling it out between The Good VS. Evil is very awesome great super fantastic very cool to watch especially the version of Special Edition that’s called “The Dark Tower: Good vs. Evil Edition” which has 20 minutes more footage than the theatrical version add this to Your collection!
