The Dark Tower movie wasn’t as bad as I thought, as long as you think of it as a continuation of the book (a retelling, not an adaptation).

Wasn’t the best Steven King story. Dragged in areas and a bit confusing at times, but there was a few action scenes that held it together.

In my opinion this a great adaptation to the book.

If action is what you want, this is a great movie.

Promising premise, but bland execution. Idris Elba is captivating, but he’s not enough to save what feels like a cheap YA Sci Fi flick.

Feels like it would have been a great movie if the boy's part was omitted, his acting and presence just gave this movie a feel that is similar to watching Vin Diesel be a babysitter. Maybe that's a bad comparison, but, well, you expect tension and suspense, but what you get is something lighter and confusing, like watching a Harry Potter film.

I've read the books and heard they tried to condense most of them into this one movie. Don't do it if you're not going to do it right
