Like sci-fi, not too bad. Not what I expected but still ok.

If you’ve never read the book(s), the movie would be a decent sci-fi flick. Elba is a strong actor carrying a weak movie. If you’ve read The Dark Tower I would advise you pass this one up, but I couldn’t and I follow the beam. An overall disappoint in pretty packaging.

This movie in 4k looks awsome enjoyed the action scenes

I love the Dark Tower series of books. Have read them all since I was a kid and grew up with reading all of it. The comics are great as well. I had high hopes for this movie but turned out that the baddest of the bad, the Gunslinger Roland, was turned into nothing more than a babysitter with a gun who can handle getting shot. I understand the who this is a new iteration to the story but just because it don't have to match with the original it should still have Roland being the baddest of the bad. Even in the books it's said that no matter how many times the Man in Black fights him, Roland is a bad dude to mess with. Here he could be taken out by the Man With No Name.

I usually like Matthew M. in most movies but his character seemed to have a poorly crafted part within this movie. Slow to develop and virtually zero support from other characters. I think the writers failed this movie more than the actors.

Being a big fan of the book and the gunslinger series, this movie didn’t even come close to capturing Stephen King’s inspiration. Even with two excellent leading men, this movie was a big disappointment.

My wife loved the book series from Stephen King. She has told me the story for years. I was hoping for something just half as good as what i was expecting. It was a major let down. The story was hurried and not a lot of info.

Wait for this stinker to come out on Netflix if you really want to watch it. I read the novel and this movie doesn’t really follow Steven Kings novel nor does it create a different version that’s interesting. Just not good.
