Having read the Death of Superman series this is a interesting spin. I'm glad they didn't tone down the violence from the storyline.

The comic book crossover story arc from the early '90s was/is far better (as is usually so with books vs their movie adaptations), but the movie was good for something that tried to cram several dozen books' worth of material into an hour or so of movie time. It might be worth buying at a discounted price, but not at full retail.

Death of Superman is easily one of the best DC Animated movies yet. There are a lot of differences between this movie and the source material, but the ending is just as touching and fit wrenching. A must have for DC fans, can't wait for Reign of the Supermen!!!

This appears to be the first of at least two videos that will re-tell the Death (and rebirth) of Superman. Having read the original comics and already sat through the short-cropping at the hands of the previous version (Superman: Doomsday), I wondered what they could do that justify re-telling THIS story rather than any number of untold comics tales or even drafting new ones. I had hoped for a more detailed Doomsday? Nope. The design looks even less like I remember the character and art from the original stories. A more realistic depiction of Doomsday crawling from no where and marching into Metropolis? Nope. A mega battle between Doomsday and the Justice League that shows EXACTLY how devastating Doomsday was and why Superman had to DIE to stop him? No, again. We get quick cameos of the other JLA's, but not even the JLA of the story, but the modern animated film JLA! Boo! The film's behind the scenes vignettes tell us they wanted us to see more from Clark's POV. If so, I am un-impressed. Removing Superman's existing marriage to Lois was a HUGE mistake and took away much of the resonance of her cradling his body and of his parting with this world. In short, I could not have been more disappointed.

It only took 3 movies (one animated and one live action) to finally get this story told the right way. It hits all the marks of the graphic novel and kind of erases the stain that was left by Batman Vs Superman:DOJ. Note to DC, the writers on the cartoon side of the WB Tower know how to tell a story. Use them please

I was wondering how they were going to bring a pre-New 52 story into the post New 52 animated universe. Honestly, DC did a pretty good job. The wrapped up some threads (Superman and Wonder Woman dating) and it didn't feel contrived or forced. All in all, the DC animated universe continues to outshine the movie universe.

I realy enjoyed this animation adaption from DC based on the popular death of Superman story arc. Honestly DC is doing a great job with their animation department; the plot is much better than any DC cinematic universe movie aside from Wonder Woman thus far. Definitely worth a pickup if you're Justice League fan.

Definitely one of the best DC animated movies yet. Year after year, DC impresses me with how amazing these movies are... they pull the story straight out of the comic pages and make the movie you want to see, unlike the live action big box movies which happen to fail in comparison. Cant wait until the next one!

This was a good DC animated movie. It was not the best by any means but it is still a watch if you have seen them all.

Another in a long line of Superman is killed storylines. All are very similar. This one was entertaining. It has a good storyline that keeps you involved and clean animation. Not a huge fan of the superhero uniform design but o did enjoy this movie and would recommend any superhero fan to give it a look

For the most part I have enjoyed the DC animated films but as of late they have been meh... This one however is pretty good, it's more comics accurate then the first iteration and has more blood and violence then I had expected. Now if only Justice league the live action movie could have been this way?

The DC Animated movies have been strong contenders for over 10 years now and The Death of Superman is no different. While the story had been told before in the first DC animated movie (Superman: Doomsday), this movie is a much more faithful adaptation of the story and really gives enough time to delve further into the details. I can't wait for the next film to come out to complete the story.

I have been watching the DC animated features for the last 10-12 years. And as of late when they decided to use the New 52 versions, the last few features have been a bust. But this one redeems them all. Wow, fast paced action, fight sequences almost like DBZ. For me it is an overall gem.

I remember when this came out in print, and how devastated I was to see Superman die. Now years later with the Batman vs Superman film out and Justice League, I find this fitting to come out this way. Good story, animation very good as expected from DC animation. very happen with this

DC’s first attempt at making this storyline into an animated movie fell short... this one definitely makes up for that. And best of all they fixed my biggest issue with the original death of Superman... this time Doomsday takes out the top tier Leagues and not the second rate members!

The quality of the movie was not as great as I was expecting. It was like watching a cartoon.

Great adaptation so far (part 1 of a 2 part film), just not as much extras in the disc as is sometimes found for previous DC Animated films. They do include 2 episodes from the rare animated series "Legion of Superheroes", which was a nice surprise. Recommended for Superman fans.

Death of Superman is a film based off of the graphic novel of the same name. While it does follow the book closely there are slight differences between the film and the book. The artwork is great the pace of the film is pretty good plus the fight with Doomsday was cool to see.

This is by far one of the best DC stories ever written, and it has been rehashed and redone many times already (aka.. batman vs superman) and yet the story still makes for a great animated movie. I liked the original animated version of the story, but this one is pretty good.

This movie was really good! This is what the battle with Doomsday in "Batman Vs Superman" should've been like! or not at all and wait till after the JL movie to make a scene as brutal as when they're getting WHOOPED! Death of Superman was awesome! Check it out for yourself!
