||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a good family movie that we upgraded from DVD to bluray. The bluray is fine but too bad it didn’t include digital code.

Underrated Xmas Movie
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's hard to remember this is an X-mas movie by the title so it often gets overlooked as a Christmas Classic. It is heartwarming and funny. If you like a movie with a So Cal local scene you can identify ,there is a scene where Cage stops into a 7-11 type convenience store, a key scene early in the movie that changes his life. That was filmed at the Stop n Go at the corner of Mariposa and Lake in Altadena, Ca. You can watch the trailer to see what it's all about. Don Cheadle plays a pivotal roll and it's always fun to see actors in roles when they were younger rather than in the rolls you know them in such as playing War Machine in the Iron Man and Avengers movies Tea Leoni is wonderful and Cage is quite good.

A new approach to the trading places theme
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.4 of 5 stars for the romance movie The Family Man. This is a variation on the trading places theme. Rich, high-power Wall Street business man (Nicolas Cage) runs into a street character (Don Cheadle) who causes Cage's character to have lived a different path in his life. Cage awakens to find a wife and kids where he was single before. The wife turns out to be an old girlfriend; so this is the life-path where he marries her. Hard to know if it was all a dream or not. No real explaination of how he got moved into this alternate life-path nor how he eventually returned to his original path. No explaination of Cheadle's "powers" or role in all of this. Nice relationship between Cage and his girlfriend/wife (Tea Leoni). Very believeable as a married couple with kids. A nicely made movie, good story, novel approach to the trading places theme. It is a fun and sweet movie worth watching.

A must-have for the 12 days of Christmas
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really good movie. It's one of my childhood favorites. Don Cheadle is great as he is in many other movies...He's really under-appreciated. This movie is a real fantasy and in my mind it's somewhat like a Scrooge film without the typical narration. I watched it as a teenager on VHS, so I'm glad to have it as a part of my Blu-ray collection.

Pure goodness.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I saw this movie with my wife on our anniversary. I wasn't expecting much but found that I really loved this movie. I cry every time I watch it because it makes me think of my wife and what my life would be like with out her and my wonderful son. I hope you enjoy this movie as much as I did.
