Fast Five is still the peak of this franchise. That being said, I wasn't sure these films would be able to move on with Paul Walker's death overshadowing it. Thankfully, they have remained honorable in the retirement of the character and have continued to rely on the ensemble rather than just one star. Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto is undeniably the main character, but that takes nothing away from the screentime of the other actors. It does help to be familiar with prior installments, and unfortunately that is why this film loses a star in the rating... I'll just say that "forgive and forget" should never apply when just one movie ago we had a villain actually kill a beloved character. Still, these movies are pure entertainment, not meant to be thought-provoking, so it is easy to look past.

Well Fast and the Furious lived up to it's name and previous franchise styles of exhilerating car races, over the top stunts and daring adventure. I didn't know what to expect with the mixed reviews, but considering the previous 7 films in mind, this one definitely took things to another level, and help fulfilled the desire to see/experience something new. Sure the whole Vin Diesel becoming a bad guy plot was a little on the edge, but overall this movie was surprising to me at how awesome the different scenes were put together. Added a good amount of humor as well. Sure the ending was a bit way over the top, but that's the style of these movies, is to mix a taste of reality with fantasy, and then take you for a ride with them. Overall a fun movie to watch and I would watch it again.

Fantastic blu-ray transfer. Awesome steelbook packaging. The film is whatever, like seriously, they need to get a new writer cause he's exhausted from trying to out do himself. The thing that I hate about the blu-ray though.... the director's cut is only available digitally!!! That's terrible on Universal's part seeing as for years, their "extended versions" were included on the blu-ray. Those "extended versions" weren't really extended and just more so uncensored in the sense that now it has blood spurts when people get shot. Those "extended versions" have been lame. Here, the director's cut is actually about 12 minutes longer and I have to watch it on Flixster or iTunes?!?!?!?!?! Are you serious?!?!?! That is honestly the worst thing Universal can do.

The only other movie that I had seen in this franchise was the first. So I missed a lot of history in between the first and this one. That being said, I loved this movie for the pure fun of it, and I did not feel that I needed to see the others to enjoy this one. There was only one point regarding the antagonist, that may have helped me a bit regarding motivation, if I had seen a previous movie. Still, it was great fun, especially if you like the main actors in this one! Give it a shot, and enjoy!

Movie full of drama and stunts, all very well done and quite entertaining. Love Best Buy's Steelbook collections, they bring a touch of additional prestige to done of today's best movies and most legendary past movies. Highly recommend getting Steelbook movies when possible as they tend to keep Blue Ray movies in safe packaging for a long time all while providing a special esthetic look. I'm a movie collector and look to purchase Steelbook movies when possible and when price difference is not overly different.

* some spoiler * Actually, the opening sequence was not satisfactory, but later I found that this story was linked to the other moment. In that sense, it is quite well organized story. So far, the scene of BB8 from Star Wars was the best part of my movie moment, but now I can tell that Jason's moment on the plane with the baby is my new best part. Its scale gets bigger and bigger, so somewhat worrying about what next, but still it is one of the best action movies so far. Much better than Transformers.

The video effects were very good, and the sound was also very good. Many of the scenes, however were over the top and not believable. I have watched most of the fast and furious movies, and liked this one the least.

The story continues with the great cast. I am sad the Paul Walker is gone and to me he was a big part in making these films great. The story is good and Vin is awesome. The Rock is his standard character. The rest of the cast is fantastic. Lots of action and over the wall scenes. In a way I miss the good car races and chases of the other films. Hollywood is dumbing down movies for the limited attention span of the young generation. Worth watching and everyone will enjoy this, besides that fact.

New plot, I fully understand with the loss of our hero star. I love the new action plot though, just love it, cannot wait for 9 to come out. Yes Check the google out its on the making way. you must add to your collection, these just might be worth some jack one day. I seen that in the beginning, LOL, why I have the whole entire collection. The bay is grand plus now, u must be you know to pay for something easily gotten at are best store ever, the best place to buy, Best Buy!!!!!!!! rocket

This version of The Fate of the Furious includes BluRay, DVD and a digital copy of the movie. The BluRay has 1080p picture and DTS-x sound. The DVD doesn't specify picture quality but the sound is Dolby Digital 5.1. The digital copy is an HD copy plus you get the featurettes. The Fast and the Furious series has had its share of good and bad, but they have always been entertaining. Furious 8 is by far the best of the serious. Just like the previous movies, the story is very unbelievable, but the action and the extremely over the top stunts are worth it in the end. I don't know how they will top a submarine but we will all find out when Furious 9 comes out in 2019.

I mean what more is there to say than Vin Diesel carries this franchise. With the loss of Paul Walker may he R.I.P. I was seriously worried about where the franchise might go. Could Vin and The Rock carry it. The answer is yes. Vin Diesel did the heavy lifting here by providing the layers of complex character that were once solely on Paul Walker. The Rock threw in his comedic notes along with Jason Statham. But over all the franchise seemed to carry on despite the loss of Pablo.

Throw your reality hat off, and grab the popcorn. The first scene adding 1,000hp shot of NOS to a 1940's car, you know it's gonna be that kind of extra silliness. This movie is where a WWII era submarine built before computers existed can be hacked remote controlled and speed faster than a Lamborghini on Ice. Also pay no attention to using a paper thin carbon fiber door to block military class weapons. Just shut up and eat your popcorn. Oh and the scene where cars can be remotely driven en mass, Apple/Google would kill for that capability. The cast is so A-list good at this point, they could write a mission driving cars on mars, fighting aliens and still be watchable.

I enjoyed Fate of the Furious enough when i saw it in the theater, to buy a copy on disc. I was interested in the bonus features, along with having a chance to watch the film in my own free time. I recommend this film to anyone who is a fan of the Fast & Furious series. This film was a very enjoyable addition to the franchise, without going too far with the stunts and visual effects. I look forward to the next film to see where the story goes from here.

This movie was a decent entry in the Fast & Furious franchise, although for me I really felt the absence of Paul Walker. Obviously, that can't be helped. Best Buy wisely continues on their tradition of a matching steel book for the Fast & Furious series - the coolest way to collect these films. HOWEVER, a big demerit for the disc only containing the theatrical cut of the film. Even though you are PURCHASING this movie - the ONLY WAY TO SEE THE EXTENDED DIRECTOR'S CUT IS BY STREAMING. LAME! This was a decision by Universal studios and is true of every release of this film on disc no matter where you purchase it. Very disappointing.

By now you know if you like the "Furious" genre or not. If you do, this film is more of the same. Charlize Theron's character is chillingly ruthless, but that is counterbalanced somewhat by another recurring character officially becoming a good guy. Roman, the lovable doofus played by Tyrese Gibson provides a good deal of comic relief, along with the rivalry he has with Ludacris's "Tej" character. As far as the digital transfer goes, it's bright and punchy. I'm not a connoisseur in that respect but I was entirely satisfied. There is a director's commentary which is a plus for me, but I haven't had the opportunity to listen yet.

If you like the series then you've got to own this one also. Plenty of action, some surprises and will probably be yet another one in the series next year. They could find ways to go to 10 or even 12 in these movies. I'd like them to bring back some more realistic stories though like in the early ones. I hope the next one doesn't show the crew driving fast cars on Mars! You know....different atmosphere, colder, more dusty, etc. :)

While in my opinion not the greatest the series has to offer, Fate of the Furious offers a lot of thrills and a great cast of characters. The mix of action and comedic lines is great from this wide range of characters. While it's sad that Paul Walker isn't around, the movies are still very enjoyable to watch and more over the top with each release.

This movie is the latest in the 'Furious' movie series and it has all the non-stop action that will leave you on the edge of your seat. All the stars are back from the previous movie(#7) and they all provide their own characters' personalities to make this movie great. New to the cast is Charlize Theron and she makes up for a good (beautiful) villian. Don't let this pass you by because it is the action movie of the year.

Lots of action and suspense. My kids loved it because of all the cool cars. I do miss Mia and Brian being in it, wish they could bring her back at least one more time. I didn't think the series had any more fuel left. The story arch in the last 3 films was complete. What else can we tell now that the main antagonist was no longer in the series? Well, I was wrong, really wrong, I was very surprised by this movie.
