Great movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great movie. Lots of action. I would recommend watching the earlier movies (1-7 but you can get away with not watching the 3rd) before this one, or you will get lost.

Great Movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Similar stuff to all the other movies in the franchise. Fast cars and a vendetta to settle. If you like the Furious movies, you'll like this one all the same.

Give your system a workout.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Another F and F installment. Another car race intro. And another bad guy / good guy showdown. Is this movie even about car racing anymore? They might as well make it into a TV series...hey now there is an idea!! Remember to mail me the royalty checks :) So does that mean this movie is bad? Well..no... not in the sense of what it promises. Action, Adventure, and a chance to workout your surround sound and subwoofer and highlight your shiny new 4K TV. I remember when the first F and F came out. It was nostalgic, as I was still in the import 'scene' so to speak, so seeing all the upgrades and money being spent into this hobby spoke directly to me. And most audiences from that era. I remember many a friday night meets showing off each other's engine bay, neon lights, stereo systems and wheels. Sadly, Facebook came along and car meets became a thing of the past. Meets became facebook posts. No longer did we meet then have dinner. We just took pics of our rides and share. No surprise that this whole series went from the builder's hobby to just extreme insane super cars which are just acquired hand over fist. NO more talks of adjustable suspension, turbo kits or exhausts. It's all about getting the bad guy, and getting him fast. So back to this installment. If you are like me and have followed the series, of course you need to watch this. I mean you need to find out how it all ends up right? And you bet there will be a sequel as long as the movie keeps making money. Does it have a good story? Well...it has a story. Let's leave it at that. But let's be honest, you don't watch this movie for the story, but for the action. And there is plenty. Yes, it tries to tug at your heartstrings a bit but frankly, I don't think many people became too invested in the characters anyway so one more or less doesn't distract from the main one. Torreto. So if you are looking for a good action popcorn flick, just go ahead and give this one a spin. Should you buy it? Well..let's put it like this. If you just need to 'complete' your collection of all the movies, go ahead and buy it. It looks and sounds fantastic. Also, wait for a sale (I bought this movie on sale on Black Friday). This movie is poised to be about 15 bucks soon I predict. Otherwise, it is a tough call. As the series progresses, to me, they are becoming more and more wait-for-cable movies vs gotta-collect-this movie. Let's put this like this: I didn't buy it until it became on sale. And even then, I had to think about it twice.

Still Fast, Still Furious
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Fate Of The Furious is the 8th movie in The Fast & The Furious franchise. Remember to watch the franchise in this order: The Fast & The Furious; 2 Fast 2 Furious; Fast & Furious; Fast Five; Fast & Furious 6; The Fast & The Furious: Tokyo Drift; Furious 7; The Fate Of The Furious This franchise started out as a uncover FBI agent who infiltrates a group of street racers who are suspected to also using their cars to hijack shipments of electronics. The agent ends up becoming part of their family and later movies in the franchise have their team using their driving skills to pull off incredible heists and missions. Each movie in the franchise furthers the overall story line and the same core characters keep returning while each movie adds new characters and stories. There is lots of action, lots of fast cars, danger, comedy, and things you never thought you would see a car do. In The Fate Of The Furious, the team leader is black mailed into using his skills to help a cyber terrorist steal different things that will allow the cyber terrorist to control a submarine full of nuclear missiles. The CIA recruits the rest of the team to stop him. This movie is like Gone In 60 Seconds meets Ocean's 11. [NOTE: Best Buy sells The Fate Of The Furious movie by itself, but if you are interested in checking out the whole franchise Best Buy sells a box set of The Fast & The Furious that includes all 8 movies (including this one)]

Great movie follow up
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was expecting something corny considering FF7 was the endgame for me for the FF franchise but I was wrong. I kind of liked how this went down.

A Solid Entry if Not as Strong as the Last Few
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What direction The Fast and the Furious franchise might go in the aftermath of the untimely death of Paul Walker and the heartfelt sendoff that was Furious 7 was always going to prove to be an interesting answer. And now, we have that answer in the form of The Fate of the Furious-the eighth installment in this accidentally successful saga that only continues to up the action ante while somehow managing to also drive the plot forward and successfully push the story in new directions. It must be said up front that if you're a fan of the series and what it's become then this latest entry will more or less satisfy you, but whereas up until this point it's been exciting and interesting to see where the next film would take the series the question of how long this can go on is certainly more prevalent as Fate comes to a close. It's not that Fate necessarily loses any of the steam from the previous films, but more that it's beginning to spin its wheels; ultimately leaving little new room for the series to expand. Sure, there are questions left unanswered that will undoubtedly be resolved in future installments, but now that we've built to the events of Tokyo Drift and are in fact two movies past the moment of real momentum where Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), the real big bad of the franchise, showed up and did his thing the question is now if there is anything left for the series to do to re-entice audiences. It is not without admirable effort that The Fate of the Furious attempts to re-ignite the investment in these characters and their on-going adventures as this latest chapter takes the route of fracturing the one thing that has always been the constant of The Fast and the Furious-its family unit. If you've seen the trailers or even any of the clips that have been released for Fate it is likely that you're aware of the arc that Vin Diesel's patriarch Dom Toretto takes this time around. While this turn of dynamics among the cast is a welcome change in narrative direction it only works as well when it is able to balance itself with the overall tone of the franchise, but too often it takes itself a tinge too seriously and goes a shade too dark for this to both feel fresh while in the same vein as the outlandish, but supremely entertaining Fast & Furious movies we know and love.

great movie...
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review....if you are looking for lots of action. If you are looking for an Oscar performance skip this one. But if you picked F8 for acting and writing then your moving choosing privileges should be revoked.

Not bad
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not the best in the franchise, but entertaining nonetheless. They must have told Charlize Theron to tone down her acting to make Vin Diesel seem less dull. A good installment though for any fan of the franchise.
