Great Movie!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this movie. I saw it in the theaters and have watched it on TV a zillion times since. There was an article in the NY Times recently about unforgettable movie lines. The article wasn't particularly good - it forgot about Better Davis's "fasten your seatbelt, it's gonna be a bumpy ride" and so on. But it got me thinking. And what popped into my mind (forgive me) were two lines from The Fifth Element that I found unforgettable: "Negative, I am a meat popsicle." and "Does anyone else want to negotiate?" And then there is the memorable "It sa, it sa, it sa..." I am really curious what it is that so turned the critics off. I am a fan for life of this whimsical, silly, funny, well-acted and yes, sentimental, film. Love might not save the world, but wait - it's on again this week! Who cares!?

Great Deal on a Beautiful Box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really love this box! Sure, The Fifth Element is an excellent movie, I've adored it my whole life, and I'll probably watch it a million more times on this copy and others... so needless to say I'm essentially reviewing the box here. Realistically I could give the box itself 4 stars (ok, you got me, my star rating is 5 for one of the best sci-fi movies of all time) just because it doesn't really come with anything special, but the art is truly fantastic. I also enjoy the texture; overall brilliant design. Not to mention, again, the price is on point. If you haven't seen The Fifth Element please do yourself a favor and drop the change on this blu-ray - you'll definitely be glad you have such a cool copy to watch whenever you want.

As the embodiment of the fifth element, Leeloo needs to combine with the other four to keep the approaching Great Evil from destroying the world. Together with Father Vito Cornelius (Ian Holm) and zany broadcaster Ruby Rhod (Chris Tucker), Dallas must race against time and the wicked industrialist Zorg (Gary Oldman) to save humanity.

Sci Fi classic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing much I can say that hasn't already been said, but if you haven't seen it, you must. It's campy and ridiculous in the best of ways.

Make this your classic sci-ci movie!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Fifth Element may not be Star Trek or Star Wars, but it has a certain something to it that makes this one to watch. Set in the distant future, an ex-marine turned cab driver, Corbin Dallas, has the perfect fare land in his lap. Man kind's greatest treasure, Leeloo, the Fifth Element. Created to defend the human race, Earth and ultimately the rest of the universe from an unending darkness brought about by the "ultimate evil". This cast includes a huge number of stars, including Bruce Willis, Milla Jojovich, Gary Oldman, Chris Tucker, and Iam Holm. The Fifth Element is a huge sci-fi masterpiece with lots of humor and action, which is sure to delight anyone that watches it. This Steelbook edition is a nice collector's item, featuring awesome artwork exclusive to Best Buy.

Just gets even better!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I remember watching this at the theaters when it first came out. I have owned the original DVD, the Superbit DVD, then the first BluRay Edition, and now this new 4K remastered version. The cast of this movie seem to really enjoy being in it. Allowed to play it to the hilt, making the characters have a true life of their own. The video quality of this movie has been used as a guide for many television reviews, it is that good. Now with this edition, not only is the picture enhanced, but the soundtrack as well, with the addition of Dolby Atmos, for those that have a system that can utilize it.

Great movie in 4K
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This movie is one of the greatest in my opinion. Therefore, I was worried about the picture and sound quality especially since it wasn't shot originally in 4k or in high definition. I was surprised how well I could see the actors face along with their imperfections, so clear, almost as if it was shot originally in high definition. The sound did not disappoint either. They did great on remastering in 4k. Only drawback that I can provide is the CGI effects are noticable with the glow around the effects and that is due to the technology they had used when this film was made so I personally understand. But, other than that, great movie. I recommend it.

One of my Favorite Sci-Fi Movies
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a stand alone movies, this is awesome! I first watched this movie with no knowledge about it. I was pleasantly amazed. Hard to do nowadays with media! First you have the action hero Bruce Willis, who kicks butt in all the movies he is in and this is no exception. Of course the action rocks in this movie, but also adds his dry sense of humor. Speaking of humor, the scene where Chris Rock is screaming like a little girl when they are blowing everything up is so funny! Milla Jovovich is a little hottie and there is some Residence Evil type of "action" from her in this movie too. This is one of the few movies I enjoy watching over and over again.

Big Bada Boom
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good and evil battle for the future of 23rd century Earth in this visually striking science fiction cult classic. New York cab driver Korben Dallas didn't mean to be a hero, but he just picked up the kind of fare that only comes along every five thousand years: A perfect beauty, a perfect being, a perfect weapon. Now, together, they must save the world. This "Mastered in 4K" transfer is presented at 1080p and is noticeably warmer and fuller than its predecessor. Skin tones are the obvious beneficiaries, lifting the actors from looking like the walking dead to very much alive. This makes the jump from LPCM 5.1 (both releases) and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 (remastered only) to a Dolby Atmos presentation, which also features a "core" Dolby TrueHD 7.1 track for those yet to equip their theaters with Dolby's latest object-based setup. Details are as clear and refined across the back as they are up front, and the low end support structure is potent but never overbearing. Explosions and other deep, penetrating sounds will test the limits of every theater's subwoofer(s). You can hear Atmos effects even without an Atmos receiver in a sound track so good it's like hearing it for the first time.
