    Even better in 4K

Classic movie. Made even better in 4K. If you've never seen it, you need to. If you already own it on Blu-Ray, or especially DVD, you need to repurchase in 4K - you'll be glad you did. Beautiful transfer, especially considering the age of the film. The studio put some work into this remastering.

The movie is a classic and one of my all time favorites. What stands out besides it being an awesome movie is the 4K conversion. It is the best I’ve seen with hardly a hint of the usual graininess. The color is tremendous.

This a beautiful steelbook. The art is gorgeous. It does seem prone to paint chips, which is always a downside, but as a collector, I've come to learn that it's pretty impossible to find an absolutely perfect steelbook. I will note that the disc isn't the remastered version. I haven't watched it yet and really, it doesn't bother me that much, but I can understand how it would bother some people. At the price of $15 dollars, it would be more acceptable to have the remastered disc, but hey, I mainly bought this for the steelbook itself and you can also get a replacement disc for cheap, so not a big deal to me.

Finally, after many releases, 5th Element looks and sounds just perfect in this new 4K scan. I viewed it on my 110" projector screen with my Epson 3020 I got from Best Buy, and it is just gorgeous. The colors pop, and the sounds crackle. Surprisingly, still demo worthy material for a near 20 year old film. Definitely worth a double dip if you have the older version(s). If you don't have 5th Element, this is a must own blu-ray.

The case on this is fantastic, artwork superb and frankly if you are buying this that's why you are getting it. This is the bluray edition steelbook of the Fifth Element and if you haven't already seen this movie shame on you. Cult classic sci-fi movie that delivers cool action, great effects and wonderful humor. The bluray upgrade is definitely worth it. If you have the DVD upgrade to this bluray you will be glad you did.

I was trying so hard to pick which version I wanted to get on blu ray, so I picked this one, I like the artwork on the other version much better, but this versions transfer looks great and it sound is incredible, this one is loaded with special features, great new documentary of how Milla Jovovich got the role as Leelo. Great sci-fi movie, one of my all time favorites filled with laughs and action.

there have been so many versions of this movie on hd. sony released it 3 times on bluray. the first release looked bad, 2nd release corrected those mistakes and was reference quality and 3rd release was the same but part of their "mastered in 4k" series. this uhd uses that same master but with hdr encoding. currently on sale as of this review for 14.99 which is a steal for this classic

The Fifth Element is a great Sci/Fi movie that I tell all my friends to watch. All the actors are great in their roles, especially Milla Jovovich. She was perfectly cast as Leeloo. The world of The Fifth Element is rich, diverse and I really like the fact that the director, Luc Besson, created a language just for this movie. I highly recommend this movie as it is just a great and original Sci/fi movie!!

If you love this movie, then you've probably owned it on every format like I have. DVD, Superbit DVD, Blu-ray, and finally 4K UHD Blu-ray. Each time has been an improvement and I think we're finally at the pinnacle. Highly recommended!

What can be said that hasn't already been said about this movie? It's campy in some areas and yet fun to watch. There have been so many versions of this movie released from standard dvd to superbit to ultimate edition and then the current bluray, it really comes down to which release has the best transfer for both audio and video enjoyment in your particular home theater setup. By now, it's safe to say we all know the story of cabby meets girl, cabby fights the bad guys, cabby saves the world(and universe) followed by cabby and girl live happily ever after. It's an odd, quirky movie that has equal parts action, drama and some humorous moments thrown in along with an over the top performance by Gary Oldman as one of the bad guys.

The movie was just ok itself. The 4k picture can't really say because I never watched it in blu-ray to compare the 2 but the atmos soundtrack was awesome. Wish all movie releases going forward had atmos soundtracks,

It was such a treat to take a trip down memory lane from 20 years ago to revisit this cult classic of Sci-Fi cinema from Luc Besson, The Fifth Element. The acting was brilliant, the set pieces, costume design and makeup decidedly European in influence and every bit as gorgeous! The soundtrack was and still is mesmerizing and I am so glad to now have this in 4K UHD in my collection!

While this is a vast improvement from the blu-ray version, the film grain is still very noticeable and a few of the colors are blown out at times.

My review title might be a hyperbole but I must say this film looks absolutely stunning in its new 4K remaster. I could see it so clear it felt as if I was watching a play on-screen! Aside from the visual, the sound was great and the movie is an absolute classic. I love the packaging but it isn't necessary to enjoy the film.

If you're hoping for involvement like you might get watching "The Notebook" then this probably isn't your movie. But if you want to be entertained, and see a couple of fun featurettes that highlight the making of this now somewhat old movie, then this is the blu-ray for you. We felt it was a good one to own because it is fun and great entertainment--the kind we like to watch over and over!

I am not sure how many times I have watched this movie since it came out years ago but I still watched it every time it is shown on TV. I saw recently that this movie was remastered in digital format. Without thinking any further, bought a bluray disc as soon as it showed up at Best Buy. The movie looked amazing and it will be one of my favorite classic movies of all time.

Love Luc Besson's work and this is no exception. Big fan of Milla and Bruce so this is a great match. Futuristic thriller where the damsel is male and the hero is a heroine. Both Milla and Bruce do fantastic in action sequences. Great and different concept. We need more movies like this nowadays with everything being reboots or remakes. Do not, I beg, remake or redo this classic!

The movie itself is great. If you haven't seen it, and love Sci-fi/action movies with some comedy (kind of like Firefly or Stargate, or even the original judge dredd) then I highly recommend this one. Plus, if you are a collector of artwork and BluRay/4K movies and steelbook cases, then this is the perfect item for you. GREAT PRICE Too. I think I paid like 9.99.

I have the movie on DVD and years ago I wanted to buy it on Blu-Ray. I remember the reviews back then complained that there were issues with the original release on Blu-Ray so I didn't buy it. Over the years they have re-issued the movie on Blu-Ray many times but I never got around to buying it. Now that I bought a 4K UHD player, it was one of the first 4K UHD movies I bought. The quality is great, the colors are fantastic but it looked a little grainy, probably due to the original material having been shot 20 years ago. Outside of that, it's a fantastic science fiction movie that still holds up and is worth having in my collection.

I really just wanted to come her to say "Multipass".....No really. This classic has never look better. The blacks are as dark as the galaxy. Dynamic range shines bright as it retains detail in the lights and shadows of the picture. Sure the clearer picture tells on the age of the CGI and such for this release, but the ride is timeless nevertheless. Do it. Buy this gem.
