    nice and spooky

Carpenter's followup to Halloween (which includes Jamie Lee Curtis & Nancy Loomis in its fine cast) is a nice, spooky ghost story involving the various residents of a small coastal town who realize the supernatural is in their midst on the eve of their town's centennial. There are several different character threads simultaneously running throughout the film which nicely come together at the end (Adrienne Barbeau, sexy as ever, plays a pivotal role in bringing things together). Carpenter's music here is as memorable as it was in Halloween. Small complaint: there are plot holes which come up if you look at the story too closely (do these ghosts want blood or money?). Fortunately, the film is still enjoyable and spooky enough to let these things pass.

the fog is one of the best ghost story i have ever seen bc it is scary and it has a good story and it is one of john carpenters best films beside his other classic films like the thing escape from new york prince of darkness and they live the fog is well worth seeing and owning and the blu-ray is worth owning bc you get extras on the disk and it looks and sounds amazing too so if you want a real good ghost story than check it out and don't waste your time on the fog remake bc it is the one of the worst remakes of all time but original one is a classic so check it out if you want to see a good horror movie

Not my favorite Carpenter, but worthy

The Fog is a pirate ghost movie-- which sounds like the premise of a classic Scooby-Doo episode, but it's done effectively enough to avoid being campy. For fans of classic paranormal horror, this is a thing of beauty. A low price on a Shout Factory title is always welcome, too!

    Amazing

To me, one of the best horror movies of all time. It is not the jump out and scare the ever living tar out of you but more of a methodical slow build with the freights. Newer movies could learn from this timeless gem.

This is a nice looking steelbook if i say so myself. Nothing new as far as the blu ray disc goes but the transfer is better than the DVD and the extras are always top notch.
