Pixar has done more original storytelling than this, and some of the character design and plotting is sub-par in comparison to other Pixar work (still well outdoing the best of the competition in my opinion). However: This movie really shines when it comes to the animation itself. The immersive environmental animation (dynamic skies and clouds in particular) and the based-on-real American West set pieces are stunning.

I'd been wanting to see this movie since it's release but do not like going to theaters. I wait for movies to be released then buy them. This movie is adorable. I'm very happy I picked it up and Best buy had it at a amazing price!

Thanks to a failed extinction event, dinosaurs continue their reign. Fun story about a young inept dinosaur's friendship with a small kid. Roles are reversed with humourous effect. The animation is amazing, particularly of the dinosaur & the kid. The 3D is as good as it gets. Highly recommended.

My husband and I have always enjoyed this ty[e of movie. The Good Dinosaur looked really good on the commercials, so we figured it would be just as enjoyable through the entire movie. It certainly didn't disappoint us. We are very happy to add this movie to our collection of Disney type movies.

I hadn't seen the movie before I purchased this package, and was actually a little disappointed in the movie. I watched it a second time and felt it was better the second time. The animation is excellent like all Pixar movies are. The characters are done in a tooney look, but the nature foreground and background is incredible. Especially the water scenes! Amazing. The 3D is pretty good, but not eye-popping good.

One would say this movie was great for adults and not for children but I beg to differ. This movie is great for both. Yes some parts may be a little dark but this is no different than watching the earlier Disney flicks and their hidden dark scenes. (Lion King, etc.) Great movie. Loved it.

This movie seemed a little sad for little kids. Starts out with the daddy dinosaur being killed. By grandson asked what happened and since daddy was killed by a flooding river, I said that he went down river. Many other sad things came up, and again I had to think quick to answer my grandson's questions. Luckily, he is too young to know what death is, and he just liked the dinosaur and his little friend.

My whole family enjoyed this movie. We had seen previews for the movie but with 5 kids and me and my wife, affording trips to the movies can be tough. We usually wait for the blue rays to come out. Best Buy had a great price on the movie. The staff was also friendly at my local store.

Awesome for the whole family! After a lot of accidents that changed the usual form of his happy and joyful family, Arlo, an apatosaurus- formed a distant and accidental relationship with a brave young primitive boy in a world that dinosaurs successfully live until the Prehistoric age.

My nephew went to the theaters and watched it and fell in love so when I got the chance I went and bought it to see for my self. It's a great store of a boy who loses something great but in the end gains a friend. Love it.

The best animated film I've watched in quite a long time. Dinosaurs are already loveable and epic as is, but you pair a growing into his own dinosaur with a mischievous but loyal little boy and you get this amazing film with an even more amazing message. I highly recommend it.

This was a creative and ironic tale of a dinosaur and his boy. The protective relationship that developed out of tragedy is an age-old story but the humor was well placed and tasteful. Overall a good family film, but a couple of scenes might be more intense for very young viewers.

it looks amazing in 4K I give the film that, but as far as content goes not the greatest.

My children watch this over and over again. Great movie for the family. Best buy has the best price and special editions typically. It would be nice however to get the childrens movies in Steelbook editions as well seeing as they sometimes destroy the cases. HELP US PARENTS OUT!!!

I enjoyed watching this movie with the kids. The looks on their faces made the movie enjoyable for me as well. Not that I did not enjoy the movie on my own. Some of the "so-called" children's movies today rely on gross humor and stupid jokes. I felt this movie was good clean fun.

This film is excellent family entertainment. Pixar has a hit with heart, it just came out at a bad time in the shadow of Inside Out. The scenery is the most real ever seen in an animated feature which gives contrast to the characters animation style and allows them to stand out.

My 3, 7, and 9 yr old love this movie. It's a movie I can even enjoy over and over again. There are some scenes they might not quite get or a little scary but after the first time, they laugh at it after I explained. If I had three thumbs, I'd say three thumbs up!

At first I didn't expect much from this movie, but I was pleasantly surprise. The characters are very easy to like and the images are wonderfully bright. A really great adventure movie that I will enjoy watching again.

Definitely appealed to my boy who loves dinosaurs. There are spoiler details that make writing a review hard, but there is much to like in this movie. On a side note, it was interesting to have a discussion with my boy about farming once he saw the opening scenes...the movie depicts the lead family as farmers which is becoming more and more prehistoric these days unfortunately.
