I LOVE the movie because I'm in love with the novel. Leonardo DiCaprio and Toby Maguire bring a magical quality to the film that I wasn't expecting. Of course Toby Maguire narrating as Nick Carraway makes you reminsice about his role in Spiderman. Overall, great film. The fact that it came in less than the estimated arrival time was awesome as well.

The Great Gatsby is a fantastic movie. Baz Luhrmann perfectly captured the 1920s with the perfect costumes, hairstyles, and music. The portrayal of Leonardo DiCaprio as Jay Gatsby is absolutely top notch. The beautiful Carey Mulligan perfectly portrays the character of Daisy. The music really pulls you in and the dance scenes are just beautiful.

this is by far one of the best 4k uhd upgrades so far. I have seen this film many times and love all of Leo's movies but watching this is 4k, was like watching it for the first time, I heard sounds and seen images I never seen before. I highly highly recommend this as a true essential part of your 4k library

I have never read the book or watched the old movie, but after seeing this I am well driven for both. So I didn't know what to expect but I am a Leo fan, and he did this movie justice, so did Toby....Overall great movie. I wished it ended different but I know it is a book and shall end how the book does but they did a good job presenting it.

Purists without an open mind who want it exactly as it is in the movie won't like this movie but if you watch the making of it and the reasoning behind everything, ESPECIALLY the music choices/selection, it makes sense. But you'd also need to be open to a wide range of musical interests in my opinion.

This is a great movie. Though when I ordered it, I was supposed to get the version with the digital copy. However, I received the Blu Ray only version instead, no digital copy. Oh Well. Awesome movie though, love it! Would have been nice to have it on all my devices.

Few novels have ever successfully been adapted to the big screen because they never address the main themes in an accurate atmosphere that reflects the novel's tone and main conflicts. This is definitely a very close adaptation of the original. Important to note that the music fits perfectly and enhances the atmosphere.

I had my doubts about this movie because I loved the Robert Redford version. I was afraid this version made to modern day standards would make the movie to seedy and tawdry but they stayed pretty true to the book and it was a good reflection of the era in history. The acting was good and the direction was great.

Okay, so because it was not the movie I expected doesn't make it bad. It was actually a good entertaining move. The plot is more about his life (Gatsby) which I knew nothing of prior to the film. If you're a fan, you'll like this movie. I liked it enough to watch again with my chick, borderline chick flick. Enjoy.

If you are a Baz Luhrmann and F Scott Fitzgerald fan you will not want to miss this on Ultra 4K-it feels like it actually puts you into the scenes with their lush, rich production values- the sound track is even better if you have the Samsung sound bar. Looking forward to many more viewings.

The movie itself is ok for it's short commings: considering it takes place in the 1920's, some of the musical selections pulled me out of the era. The characters sometimes seemed to contradict themselves making the plot feel muddy. Watching it in 3D vastly improves the enjoyment of the film, at least for the 3D fans.

The costumes, sets, music, 3D and resolution are excellent. With only minor errors to the period costuming and the rap--clue, rap did not exist in the 1920's. But somehow it all works. I will only buy a movie that I know I can watch and enjoy many times. "Gatsby" made the cut, and has a home in my collection.

I had to watch this movie twice, due to me being so impressed and focused on the cinematography the first time I watched it. After I watched it the second time, I was very pleased with the plot and wonderful acting! I decided to purchase this movie, so I could watch it again, on a lazy, bad weather weekend. :)

the cast of this film with tobey Maguire, dicaprio, and the rest of the cast is spot on. the direction of boz luhrman really brings the story and landscape to life on a large scale that is needed for a classic American story like this. really capturing something timeless with this vision. worth owning.

I have always been a fan of Baz Luhrmann's films. They are always so colorful and pleasing to the eye. This is another beautiful film by Luhrmann. Beautiful scenes in vibrant colors give life to the roaring 20's in this great adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic. Loved this movie. Plus Leo makes a great Gatsby.

When I first saw in the theater, I went in not expecting much but wow was the movie great. Buying it on bluray was a no brainer. I couldn't get over how visually impressive this film was. The acting was really decent too. I loved the book as a kid. In my opinion the movie did the book justice.

I'm a fan of the art deco era and the beauty and tragedy of it. This movie is a visually stunning interpretation of the story and probably more truthful regarding the all out/anything goes attitude of that time then the pastel color of the original Robert Redford/Mia Farrow version.
