Not as good as "Django Unchained", and no where near as good as "Pulp Fiction". Here is what I would suggest to anyone that wants to watch this movie. Start watching, and at 3 minutes and 18 seconds, close your eyes. Count to 15, and then open your eyes and finish watching the movie. Why? Because someone is shown in the credits, and it will distract you from the rest of the movie.

Tarantino recently announced his retirement. I think he has two more after this one. I have to say that I have enjoyed his work and count this movie as one of his best. The actors clearly enjoyed the dialogue and the story had quite a few twists and turns for almost al the events taking place in one room. It is a must for ant Tarantinio fan, and a good western for those that haven't been fans up to this point.

The Hateful Eight is a great Quentin Tarantino film, as well as a great Western. Many have criticized this film for being long and too talky. I completely disagree. The dialog in these films is what sets them apart and makes them so great. The action is still very intense and the performances brilliant. Most of all, the story is terrific. You'll never see the twist coming in this one. A great addition to QT's films!

Quentin Tarantino Never Fails to Amaze

Be prepared for the typical Tarantino violence and language in the vein of the HBO series Deadwood. If you can get past that, it's another inventive look at the Old West probably closer to the realism of the time in terms of prejudice and passion - but, what adds to the film is the character development and interplay of the protagonists. Well worth watching and, as I buy my Blu-Ray movies, worthy of watching again.

Watch this. People say it's not as good as the rest of Tarantino's work, but I disagree. The music is a treat, the story satisfying, and the visuals are to die for. Tarantino doesn't disappoint with his ability to make the most inane dialog become one of the most memorable parts of a movie. Really, the only thing I wish for was an available roadshow cut of the film, but I doubt that gets released any time soon.

I know there are some divisive opinions for this one. I believe Hateful 8 is one of his better films--great dialogue, crazy violence, and timely social commentary. The lack of the inclusion of the roadshow presentation and barebones extras might make you want to wait for the seemingly inevitable special edition version in the future, but I enjoyed this one enough to buy as is and risk a double dip later on.

Trying to decide which one of Tarantino's films is his best is like trying to decide which one of your kids is your favorite. He has done it again with one of the best westerns to come along in some time. Very much in the vein of Cut Throats Nine this film will keep you guessing as to who is up to what until the very end. Another highly recommended Tarantino film.

The Hateful Eight is everything you could ask for from Quentin Tarantino, a masterful and fun storyteller. While this film may not be considered Tarantino's best film, it should at least be considered; it could be argued as one of his greatest films, but with competition like Inglorious, Pulp Fiction, and Kill Bill, its difficult to definitively argue, but this film should not be overlooked.

I would call this a mystery dressed as a western. The story has all the classic Tarantino components, so I don't know if I would call it fresh... But I did enjoy the film enough to purchase (I rented it first). The acting is well, the inclusion of http://www.enniomorricone.org/ as the composer was very enjoyable. And the story kept me guessing till the end.

I love QT movies, discovering all the ways he pay homage to classic genres and movies makes me watch his movies over and over. This one is a bit long and a bit slow to build but nothing is left to your imagination. Unlike me, don't watch this on an airplane...you might offend someone in your aisle or around you. It's a pretty graphic movie (typical QT).

Tarantino doesn't do almost perfect. It's always at 100% perfection. His storytelling scripts are always different and above the others. Famous for developing iconic characters and their interrelationships. The staging production is always that "extra character"in the movie. He always gets the best acting from his actors. If I have to recommend this , you don't know the Genius of a Tarantino movie.

The anti-thesis to the Magnificent Seven, The Hateful Eight started off as a novel and sequel to Django Unchained, and almost didn't get made into a movie, due to the plot being leaked on the Internet in 2014, but Quentin couldn't let this epic character study go, and so he filmed it anyway to the joy of his followers and genre lovers. This will be a classic western as time progresses. What a ride!!

ALL THE GORE AND VIOLENCE YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A TARRANTINO FILM. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT I CAN APPRECIATE WHEN MIXED WITH HIS SHARP COMEDY RELIEF. STAR STUDDED OF COURSE. JENNIFER LEIGH HAS COME A LONG WAY FROM HER COY ROLE IN FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH. SHE GAVE A KILLER PERFORMANCE (LITERALLY).

While not as good as the masterful Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight is still a solid movie. Every single actor brings their A-game, and the twists and turns keep coming. I had no idea where this story was headed, and it was a joy to watch it unfold! It feels about 30 minutes longer than it needs to be, but that's to be expected with Tarantino...

Didn't get to see this in the theater so this was the next best thing. I've seen every one of Tarantino's movies and loved them all. Jennifer Jason Leigh is great in this movie and I wouldn't miss a movie that has Walton Goggins in it. The scenery was fantastic. Too bad I didn't get to see it in the 70mm Panavision. My only mistake was buying the regular version of this instead of the Blu-Ray.

"HATEFUL EIGHT" is EXCELLENT! I have always loved Tarantino's movies, as his movies are well thought out, well-written, well-acted, and of course very well directed. This is a very good mystery. It is, and For a, 2 hour-and-48 minute movie, I know that is LONG, BUT, the movie goes by VERY FAST! And the price was great too. Which you get combo deal: dvd-bluray-digital. BUT IT! It is a BEST BUY!

Our salesperson was Karissa. She was very knowledgable and went out of her way to answer all our questions. She also recommended additional products that we might be interested in. When we were in the store yesterday she pointed out the many features of the MacAir and that the sale price was excellent value. We went home, thought about it and went back to today to make our purchase.

This was such an odd movie, but then again what else would expect from Quentin?!! The story is so well done, that the story alone keeps you glued to the screen from beginning to end. He does such a good job developing the characters and the story in this movie. The movie is so much fun and there are so many unexpected things that happen. It is definitely worthwhile to see. Highly recommend!

Tarantino's great skill in crafting excellent dialogue and engaging characters is on powerful display here. For this reason, neither the film's extended running time nor its limits of location are obstacles to enjoying it. I could watch Kurt Russell and Sam Jackson banter all day. As a fan of Walton Goggins's TV work, I was thrilled to see him put to good use within this ensemble cast.
