I bought this for several reasons. Mostly, Quentin Tarantino and the actors that were cast in the movie, but also it was really cheap on Black Friday. I am not a fan of westerns which I thought this was, but it is not a western, The Hateful Eight is an awesome movie that anyone who likes Quentin Tarantino should see.

But if you're a fan of Tarintino you'll enjoy it. It's vulgar and violent and at times eye rolling my far fetched but the ends justify the means here. A great dialogue movie; but there's no hero here. It's called the hateful 8 and you'll hate them all. Watch some clips on YouTube if you're on the fence.

It's OK but not good enough........................

Not one of Tarantino's best movies, but certainly an interesting one. He seems to have gotten more political over the years. The long shots are gorgeous, I wish I had seen in on the big screen. An entertaining movie, not for the squeamish. Jennifer Jason Leigh and Kurt Russell put in some terrific work.

If you like tarantino, you'll like this. Actually done more like a play than a movie. You're gradually introduced to the characters and as the story moves on you learn more about each which then plays into the story of the whole. Not quite up there with Inglorious but certainly not a deathproof.

The first time I saw this movie I was grossed out but I loved the music. The second time I appreciated the characters more. The characters truly are hateful and this movie doesn't shy away from where that path leads. The extras are minimal but Tarantino hasn't put much effort into supplements since Jackie Brown.

Tarantino once again does a great job and different take on the western genre than what he did with "Django Unchained". Great original music from Ennio Morricone and one great unused track from "The Thing". All the performances of the "Eight" are great and amusing as well. Wish there was some special features from the roadshow.

You get the bluray, DVD, and digital copy. Plus the steelbook has the great Tarantino style marketing poster used for early promo of the film. Movie itself is great and one of tarantinos best. Just wish that this had the roadshow cut of the film. But that doesn't take away from the greatness of the film and how cool this steelbook is.

Tarantino has done it again! He is MASTERFUL at weaving intricate plots where everyone's role is not possible to be removed from the story and these essential characters play into detailed twists and turns that are too true to believe until seen! EXCELLENT cinematography and soundtrack as well, AS ALWAYS, from Tarantino! At his best!

Really enjoyed the details the director/writer created in this story. The sound track and cinematic experience was fun to view at home. Enjoyed the complexity of the characters. Nothing like a good old fashion Western Glad this became part of my movie library. Tarantino's previous film - Inglorious B's is on my list to view next.

Pros: Excellent acting, very engaging, intense and great dialogue Cons: Not a huge con, but the movie takes place mainly in one location, so you're pretty much stuck in a cabin for 2 1/2 hours, but it makes the most out of it.

Need I say more than Tarantino? Another great movie as expected. If you're in for a great cinematic experience you have to watch. Tarantino is a great story teller who also knows how to give us such a visually appealing movie. But yea... i could probably do with less gore. lol. Nonetheless, still another great movie by Tarantino.

Hateful Eight is Quentin Tarantino at his finest, using the greatest methods to give the film it's authentic and brilliant atmosphere. Kurt Russel and Samuel L. Jackson are of course at there finest with every other actor wrapping around their performances to really tie the whole film together and please the viewer in the best way.

The movie is designed for repeat viewing in the highest possible definition on the widest possible screen. If you have the set up, this movie needs to be a part of your collection. Watch it. Appreciate the nuances. Watch it again. Appreciate more nuances. Hateful Eight is a must have pieces of Tarantino's near impeccable canon.

this movie had me tensed up and on the edge of my seat from start to finish. tarantino does it again ( i say that a lot ) this movie had reservoir dogs feel to it. im still in awe after watching this for the first time. love the way this movie had me engaged the way it did. definitely recommend to any movie goer/lover.

This is a great movie! Usually, anything Quentin Tarantino touches is fantastic! The actors are awesome! What do you expect of Samuel L. Jackson, he is one of my favorites. No regrets buying this movie for my collection. I highly recommend.

A typical Quentin Tarantino movie that is for sure! If you like shoot um up, blood and guts and humor. this movie is for you! But you will have to wait towards the end to see the blood and guts. How all those people stay in that one room rest house is amazing. Could not have chose a better cast.

Hateful Eight - 2nd review... don't know why my reviews aren't sticking lately, but here it goes again... This is no doubt a QT movie. It has some killer cinematography, the usual QT writiing that actors just love, a great cast that really brings the story to life, and direction that just pulls it all together. GET THIS ONE!

The Hateful Eight was an excellent western. Tarantino truly is a master in his craft. I was completely immersed in the movie, the setting, the characters, the dialogue, and the cinematography. If you're a fan of Tarantino, you're gonna LOVE the Hateful 8. The steelbook is gorgeous too. Get one while you can! Highly Recommended.

I knew no matter what I wanted to buy The Hateful Eight on Blu-ray, but even more in our world now of retailer packaging exclusives for certain titles I also wanted that perfect package. Best Buy had it with their exclusive steel book edition. It's nothing out of this world style wise, but it is to me because I LOVE this movie.
