This purchase was a Christmas gift for one of my son-in-laws. He was thrilled to receive this item as he is an avid Tolkien fan.

Great movie. It reminded me of Lord of the Rings. If you liked the last three, you should take a look at this one. Different story line and intriguing!

Though this can never compare to LOTR, The Hobbit has some charm and holds it's own. I am reserving full judgement until I have completed the journey.

I had to get the 3D only! I also have the regular blu-ray. It did annoy me that the blu-ray and 3D blu-ray weren't in same package. Oh well.

All of the epic J. R. R. Tolkien stories turned into movies are great! I definitely recommend this kickoff the the Hobbit.

I was worried that it would never live up to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but it met that standard and more. I can hardly wait for the next edition.

This movie has a great story-line and has plenty of action. Helps to understand the "The Lord of the Rings," if you have not read the books.

Fantastic movie. My favorite movie from the lord of the rings. This product is a great buy having bluray 3d, bluray, dvd, special features and UV.

This is not Lord of the Rings, but the first Hobbit film is still entertaining. It has some "stretched" moments that drag, but the action is excellent and so is the acting. Worth a look. It's great on blu-ray with an outstanding sound mix.

All around fantastic movie!!! Yes, it was over 3 hour movie but so worth it! The ending was so good I had to watch the Hobbit 2 right after!

This movie probably has most of the original book in it although it has a lot of extra stuff to help tie it into the lord of the ring movies even though the book was never meant to do so. In my opinion best part is the singing.
