    Good characters and plot line, but it does not get inside Bilbo's head like we were treated to with Frodo in LOTR.

    The Hobbit is a small book and to tell the truth, not that well written. It's a bunch of little adventures that have nothing to do with the main goal strung together. Three hours would've been plenty for the entire book. The problem with the film is that it's entirely too long and self indulgent on the part of the director/writer. However, it's still fun and there are over 9 hours of extras on the blu ray!
