    Overall good movie but does not live up to The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The movie is definitely geared toward a younger audience. Don't know how the book could be stretched into 3 movies without causing the plot to suffer. Still a descent movie but does not live up to the hype.

    Purchased this for my daughter she has the other two movies. She was very excited because she loves the Hobbit movies and The Lord of the Rings movies too. I prefer the The Lord of the Rings myself but the Hobbit movies were very enjoyable.

    The first Hobbit movie was quite good, very consistent with the LOTR films. However, there was a lot of unnecessary stuff in there that was obviously intended as filler, to stretch this 150-page book out to 3 movies. They kept getting better after this first one.
