Good fun but a little uneven and bloated in places. Feels more true to the book than the other two films in the series. Video and audio is high quality.

The movie seems to move slow. I think this is because they are trying to streach a single book into three movies. Also, the director bends the story line of the book to add some content foreshadowing the Lord Of The Rings trilogy.

This was a good movie, but I personally would have enjoyed it more if it were about 45 minutes shorter. I am a big fan of the LOTR trilogy, and was really excited about this movie. The Hobbit part 2 I know will be much better.

this series biggest fault is that it comes from a light sided story that try to mimics it self to the The Lord of the Rings saga a much darker story , it looks beautiful but most of all forgettable

With the LOTR trilogy, the extended editions added a lot to the story. No so much with the Hobbit. The Hobbit itself is a great story. Sadly, the Extended edition doesn't feel like it extends or adds to the story much

As a movie, this is really good. As a rendition of the book, it is horrible. To me , "The Hobbit" is a light-hearted, adventurous fairy tale. This movie turns it into a dark, blood 'n' guts spectacle. The plot from the book is barely recognizable. Events are changed too much from the book and the changes are not improvements - far from it. The trolls, the stupidity of the dwarves riding on the stone giant, and, worst of all, the extra plot twist of Azog following them throughout. Totally unnecessary. I would have liked it a lot more if they would have just followed the book as is.

But we already knew that. Too bad. The extra scenes are helpful and enjoyable as always. Read the book before watching the movie so you can sort fantasy from fiction (Tolkien from Jackson).

A good movie, but a bit of a disappointment. Just not up to par with the LOTR. Movies drags on and has too much filler in order to drag the story out to three movies. It made sense with LOTR, but not here.

If you really liked Lord of the Rings, then you want this movie. I thought these movies lacked something and drug on. I was bored most of the time, as I was with the Lord of the Rings series.

Bought movie as a gift so I can't really review to much but did see film in theaters and was pleasantly surprised. Lord of the rings is not really my type of genre of movie but it was fairly good.

It's the hobbit, what is not to love about this movie. Wonderful and awesome sets and wardrobes as usual. As always, realistic and believable, great acting. Makes me feel like I am there.

I wish they wouldn't do this - extended scene version should be the only version. Let us pay a bit extra to get both at the same time - or big discount to get these extras.
