Not too happy with this Movie.If the Movie had a little bite more of action, I would have enjoyed it better. Hope the next Movie will display the real review we are expecting.

The movie does lay the foundation of the trilogy. It was really slow progressing at the beginning, but does get a plot hook by the end. I am anticipating the 2 and 3 movies.

I wasn't impressed with this movie. I was waiting for it to come out and it just wasn't as good as I was hoping. They should have made it only 1 movie not 3. At most 2.

This movie takes forever to get anywhere or do anything you'll fall asleep a few times but towards the end it gets really good. I just wish they got there faster,

Should have been either one long movie or two 2.5 hour movies. Just not enough book length to justify 3 long movies but it was still enjoyable.

The movie was a bit slow moving at first, but visual effects are nice, as well as the scenery. Humor is sometimes a little over the top and under amusing.

Long movie, husband likes the series. My butt feel asleep watching this, then i fell asleep oyt of boredom. At least i got a good nap.

I know there are lots of Lord of the Rings fans out there and Hobbit fans. I just could not like the movie compared to the book. But its worth the watch

Hobbits (and their cute hobbit ponies) in danger and all sorts of trouble in the shire. They might even run short of tobacco!

I love these movies, but this really takes a little bit of time to get through! I really feel this one dragged out longer than it should have!

Not the greatest, but if you like Middle Earth, a nice trip back into the tale. Better than a trip to the spectacle of a tale by James Cameron.

I couldnt wait for this movie to be released but was not really thrilled with it after I got it. It just seems like its a long set up for part 2.

Though not the greatest in the franchise still a must see for the LR followers. Definitely builds anticipation for next installment.

This is the only film in the trilogy that made it look like they were trying to stay close to the source material.

I have watched and enjoyed all the Lord of the Rings movies and this movie was good buy I liked the Lord of the Rings trilogy better.

Ok hobbit movie as far as story goes. Feel like story is being stretched out to make similar trilogy like LOR but not quite as good.

3d bluray is very good as expected and the digital 2d copy as well but it was misleading in that I thought the disc would also be able to play 2d bluray on a non-3d hdtv. Not the case. They should have better explained it on the cover or description as I would have thought twice about buying it as I lent it to someone without a 3d tv and they found out disappointed that they could not play the movie on their blu-ray player.

OK movie could have been shorter some decent effects . LFE is missing or mixed very low ! ! ! See AVS for more comments on that issue !

I was not going to even watch this movie when I heard it was going to be a trilogy but it was on sale so I bought it. I was right. If anyone has read any books by Tolkien they would know that the Hobbit is a short story compared to LOTR and each LOTR book was turned into a single film. That is what should have been done to the Hobbit. Creating another trilogy is just an excuse for studio to make more money.

I really liked the movie when I saw it in the theatre and wanted a copy to watch at home. When this came on sale I bought it.
