The overall movie and discs are great, would have loved to have an option to upgrade to a directors or extended edition

This is an excellent movie if you like the genre. You don't need to watch the Lord of the Rings movies to understand.

Excellent start to the classic tale. Incredible cinematography and a beautiful tale. Acting and plot line develop much slower than The Lord of the Rings series, but the payoff is worth the buy!

Ok, first movie, but kind of boring. It took a long time to really get it started. I guess I don't see why this one book has to have 3 movies, when the other 3 books got only 1 movie each.

Peter jackson did a great job adapting the book to a movie, very pleased with it. can't wait to see the others!

I have seen the movies a few times in the theater, and this was an assumed purchase when it came to DVD.

Not as epic as the Trilogy but if yuu like Tolkien it's a must-have. Would have preferred a iTunes download as the digital download offer instead of UltrtaViolet - but otherwise ....
