    This was much better then the first hobbit. More action and the cgi for smaug was really impressive.

    Not as good as the trilogy but Jakson set the bar so very high with those movies, still great stuff.

    While this is a very good movie, look to another movie if you are considering it to show off 3D. Save yourself the extra money and buy the non-3D version. The 3D really adds little to this movie.

    If you loved the Lord of the Rings films, then the Hobbit films are an easy choice. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is a long movie, but we've come to expect this from Peter Jackson. Enjoy!
