    The movie was enjoyable, especially the extended scenes with Beorn. The documentaries were a lot of fun to watch. Definitely a movie to share with family and friends.

    Not sure that the added footage adds anything more than length to an already padded film, but spending time in Middle Earth is welcome and the behind-the scenes material is comprehensive and engaging. There are key changes in motivation and charaterization that have alienated many, but the film has its merits when viewed on its own and Smaug is a remarkable creation. Thorin's key is a nice touch in this exclusive set...wonder if sales of it will unlock the production of a Silmarillion movie...?
